The engine just dies. Usually at a stop or slow down. Probably 1x/month for the last 6 months. Previously it just happened a couple of times last year. The frequency seems to be increasing. So far it has happened only with city driving. I do 90% city driving, but am becoming nervous about taking the car out on the freeway. Our mechanic cannot find any history of these stalls on the car's computer. I have had problems with my isc valve ever since I've had the car. We need to replace the isc valve every year. Toyota has paid for it, but it is annoying not to have this problem solved.

Fuel system: for about the last year and a half, certain mornings my car wouldn\\'t start by simply turning the ignition; I had to try it the \\"old fashioned\\" way and depress the gas pedal several times prior to turning the ignition key. Power window: the driver side power window motor sounds like it is dying; it takes quite a long time for the window to open and close. Other: the driver side interior door handle just broke off in my hand four (4) weeks ago!!! please bear in mind that this car has less than 29,000 miles and is very well maintained. Something which has occurred over the last year or so is quite dangerous and I need to point this out because I, nor anyone I have spoken to has ever heard of such a thing. The black windshield wiper arm assembly (which attaches the windshield wiper to the motor), for some unknown reason, the black paint has "worn away", exposing a bright silver metal, which reflects the sun directly into my eyes. It is quite dangerous. Since I don't do a lot of driving and always wear sunglasses on sunny days, they has helped me somewhat. However, recently I was driving on a cloudy day when the sun did in fact come out while I was without sunglasses. This proved to be most dangerous as I managed to avoid at least one accident due to this condition. .
The power windows went up by themselves, without the button being pressed.

The cd changer initially had issues with playing cdr (cds made on a computer at home). It would skip all of the time. It also had issues with regular cds when attempting to fast-forward or reverse to a specific area of a song track. It took a visit and a couple telephone calls to Toyota's customer service to get them to agree to replace the cd changer. Ever since this was replaced, I have had no further issues with the vehicle since then. However, in the Camry that I had as a loaner when the vehicle was in on 7/28/03, that vehicle had the same issue with its cd changer and I told the service manager about it. The moon roof has had issues since the vehicle was originally purchased in January 2003. Basically, it has been leaking and a water noise is heard when operating the vehicle at highway speeds, which is not normal and the radio needs to be turned up to drown the sound out. The vehicle has been to the dealership for repairs for four times. The last time it was in was on 7/28/2003. At that point of time, the moon roof was not even closing completely. Toyota flew a field technician from California to kansas city for the repair. He claims that the reason for the moon roof not closing was because the battery was disconnected when the heated leather seats were installed and that caused the timing for the roof to become corrupted. The dealership never saw this problem ever with any 2002-2003 model Camry and that is why a field tech was sent out. After he fixed the sunroof, I was assured by charles epp, Toyota's regional manager, that my vehicle was fully repaired and he personally assured me that it was tested for water issues too and that everything was corrected by resetting the timing. While operating the vehicle shortly after the repair, the moon roof is still leaking and having water noises during highway operations during rainstorms. Recently, I had an arbitration hearing at jay wolfe Toyota with an arbitrator from ncds.
Driver's side window shattered in pieces, cause unknown. Please provide any further information.

In approx June of 2002 my timing belt had to be replaced I now appear to have the oil gelling problem. Approx may 2003 I got out of the car to pump gas and the door will not open on the driver side. Approx August 2003 I began noticing if driving on the highway and I apply my brakes my whole car begins shaking.
While putting power operated driver side window it exploded in consuemer's face, causing minor injuries to consumer. Contacted dealer ,and the dealer was not willing to do anything.
I purchased a 2000 Toyota Camry in January of 2001. In June 2002 the rear windows would roll down, but failed to roll up. After 30 minutes or more the window would come up slightly when the switch was activated. After another 30 minutes or more it would come up a little more. This pattern had to be continued until the window was finally up. I discussed this with the dealer and he stated that since I was over the mileage warranty there was nothing he would do. I could buy a new motor for $400 to $500 each window. With children in the car the window get activated offen and the vehicle also get rain inside the car because the window could not be raised. I believe after only 18 months of owner ship I should be able to expect the windows to operate properly.
Struts 3 service centers, including antwerpen, checked. All 3 agree on rr strut and mount. The other two added that the other struts were leaking. Antwerpen says that's "normal" for Toyota. However, a check at the service center of 2 other Toyota's revealed no leaks. After customer called a "wise ass" by Toyota rep, efforts to speak to managers revealed them unavailable for the entire day (this at 8:30 a. M. ) power window. When it was first reported, the window became operable before I could get it into the shop. In Aug. 2002 I kept the motor running and drove directly there. Antwerpen said it was the power motor and that they would order the part. Although I have called sevreral times and mentioned it again during this incident, that has not yet "come in" from Toyota it's now 4 months later. Dt.
My 2003 Toyota xl Camry has a control that closes the driver's window. When activated you can release the button and the window continues to close. There is no safety stop which stops the action when the button is released. This can be a fatal exposure to a child or adult caught in the path of the window.
Brakes squeak/ pull to left and warp. Also, cd player doesn't work, had 4 cds replaced/ springs in side of sun roof are broken and make noises, and regulator replaced inside of windows. Dealership is aware of problems. Consumer states that brake rotors have been turned at 9000 and 27000 miles, each time rotors are turned the brake pads have been replaced, however problem still occurs. Windshiled has a film like covering which makes it very difficult to see out of. Goodyear tire p205/65r15, dot m6urredr228 wore out prematurely.
Team Toyota was very unresponsive; alleged owner neglect. Oil light came on and immediately slung a rod, no notice nothing. They told me is was sludge although it didn't take them long to make that determination. They couldn't have checked very far because the mechanic that replaced the motot (not a Toyota mechanic) said there was little to no sludge there. I received a letter from Toyota discussing oil gelling this month (July 2002). Maybe they've been having too many owner neglect cases with blown motors!.
The power windows in the front on the driver and passenger sides go off track and will not come down. My dealer said this happens all the time on the 1999 Camrys but there has been no recall. This is dangerous in the north east in bad weather. It also makes us vulnerable to a car jacking or theft. My dealer said he fixed but windows but it has happened again. Why doesn't the government order a recall. What happens after my warrenty is over? there is a real design defect with these cars, so why isn't someone doing something about this? what about the hours on end that I must waste waiting for repairs and the lost hours of work. Who is suppose to reimburse me for lost pay?.
Main window switch on the driver's side would latch to lower the window then would not unlatch to raise the window even after turning the car off and opening the door. Dealer said it would cost $300+ to replace the main window control board. Several months later the right side passenger switch quit and neither side (right or left) switch would work. Cannot lower window at all and feel this is a safety hazard if the window had to be opened in an emergency.
Front passenger side window malfunctions. Yh.
