I received an air safety recall notice therefore I scheduled an appt with boch Toyota in norwood, MA to get it fix since that was the dealer I bought the car from 11 years ago. On the day of my appointment I went there and they told me they replaced the air bag and that I was all set then I left. Two weeks after while I was driving on my way home my air bag light came on, I immediatly called boch Toyota they asked that I bring the car, I went there directly. When I arrived they took my car to go check why the air bag light was on, I reminded them that I was there two weeks ago maybe they had forgtotten to do something. The service advisor told me he would have a mechanic take a look; an hour after another service advisr larry came and told me that the air bag sensor needed to be replaced that I would cost me $800. I told him I had my car for 11 years and the air bag light never had any issue until I brought my car there for them to fix the air bag as requested by the Toyota company;larry told me the issue the car has now is not covered under the safety recall and that my only option was to get it fix, he also said that if I was involve in a car accident the air bag will not deploy. I told him that it was boch Toyota's responsibilty to fix it, he told me it was not possible. Next they brought my car for me then I left. My air bag light is still on in the car, I have asked two mechanics for suggestions and they both informed me that boch Toyota should have taken care of it. Can someone please contact me ? I need to know how to proceed with this sice I'm driving a car with air bags that will not deploy in case I have an accident.

Sir, I bought a new Toyota le year 2005 in maryland and since the beginning I've always brought my car for maintenance to the same dealership to which I was very pleased about it. On Monday, November 17th, 2014 my son was driving our car southbound in lane 2 of georgia avenue when another driver pulled out of a secondary road of the home depot parking lot and went directly into lane 2 in front of our car. My son was unable to avoid the other driver and struck his car in the rear causing little damage for the driver¿s car. The impact caused a lot of damages in the front end of our car. My son did not suffer a fracture or a severe injury but he got a cervical sprain, in addition to developing back pain, left knee pain. The impact was so bad that our car was deemed a total loss but interestingly the air bags did not deploy at all! if the airbags were defective as it has been for other Toyota cars then I may have had a defective product that was supposed to be fixed or replaced so they would have worked properly in case of an accident that¿s why we trust in the manufacturer and in the written instructions in the manual.

Toyota Corolla 2005 in an accident - hit on passenger front end and then flipped over landing on the roof of the car. All 7 airbags failed to deploy.
My husband bought my 2005 Corolla as a wedding gift. It was slightly used but bought from one of the best Toyota dealerships in our town. It had approx. 18000 miles when I got t in Feb of 2007. It was very basic and a standard. The shifting/clutch never seemed right from the start but I learned how to deal with it. In Feb of 2010, I was leaving work and was a few miles from home. I had never in my many years of driving had a wreck. The truck ahead of me came to an abrupt stop and as I tried to break,my car seemed to speed up and went right up under the truck. The whole front end smashed right up to the windshield yet the airbag did not deploy. Insurance deemed it a total loss but it was right at the point where I still owed as much as the pay off so they went ahead and fixed it. I was out a lot of money. The second wreck just occurred on March 15,2013. I was driving home from a family members residence in the country and was traveling on deserted roads at about 3:30 am. I went around an s curve that I grew up driving so it I was very familiar. I tried to slow down, but again seemed to accelerate. I over corrected and ran thru a ditch and completely threw a metal fence. Again. The airbag, which always had the light on as if ready to deploy, did not go off. I was hurt very badly and apparently blacked out for a good while. This time the insurance deemed it a total loss and we are waiting on a settlement from our insurance plus I hurt my knee and am meeting with a surgeon next week. That car was nothing but trouble and I am happy to b rid of it but feel we all deserve justice for all the many errors Toyota has given this vehicle.
While traveling at 35mph on a 50mph roadway, anticipating to stop or steer off the roadway, my 2005 Toyota Corolla brakes and steering failed despite repeated attempts to stop or steer the vehicle to the soft shoulder to avoid rear ending the vehicle stopped ahead of me. Once I applied my brakes, the steering mechanism became non responsive as though both brakes and steering failed. I watched my vehicle continued on its forward trajectory until it slammed into the rear of the vehicle at the red light. In addition, one would have expected the air bag on this vehicle to deploy at impact at this speed. To my surprise and that of the investigating officer from tampa police department, the air bag did not deploy. Luckily, I was the only one in the vehicle as neither the driver's air bag nor the passenger air bag deployed.
I was in a acident last week, someone turned left in front of me. We were going straight through the intersection. Our air bags did not deploy, a number of people (rescure personal, auto repair shop) all mentioned that were surprised the air bags did not deploy. We were going around 15 to 20 mph, I am not sure if this has happened to others or if the bags should have gone off or it this is the correct place to report it. All I can say thanks for seat belts, we would have been just more than just brusing. Sincerely,.
