Takata inflator: received letter recommending urgent safety recall. Parts were supposedly ordered 3/21/16. As of today, 4/8/16, parts are "backorder" with no timeframe. Spoke to "jennifer" at Toyota repair shop. This is unacceptable. I frequently have passengers in my car, as I take friends to doctor appointments. Please advise. . . . By the way, the letter states that Toyota has the parts available for my geographic region. So why are the parts not available? I called as soon as I received the letter.

Front passenger airbag inflator module recall I have been waiting for four months for my dealership (Toyota newnan, GA) to contact me regarding the inflator module. I was told twice that the part was not available at that time and that I would be on a waiting list. I think this is unacceptable, especially since I'm not supposed to drive the car until it is fixed.
Takata recall - I purchased the car in July 2015 and was informed that there was a recall on the takata inflator for my car. I took it to daytona Toyota in daytona beach, florida to have another recall on the car remedied. They told me they would be calling me when they had the inflator module part in for my car. Over the next several months they called me when the part came in and each time I was sent home because it turns out they did not have the part after all. I filed a complaint on their facebook page and the customer service manager contacted me via the telephone. He told me that there was no such part or recall for my car. I trusted him, removed the complaint and have been driving my vehicle ever since. However, I am seriously concerned he lied to me just to get me to delete my complaint. I am now afraid for my safety and unsure if there is truly a recall on my car. I have a Toyota Corolla s 2005. Dealer reference dsf and NHTSA recall 15v285.
Safety recall notice has been received months for front passenger airbag inflator module. After calling the dealer, the Toyota customer experience center, and manufacturer, the statement were given as of 'the parts needed to repair the vehicle were still not available and no estimated time for receiving the parts could be given. ' like to mark my complaint that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for repair. The manufacturer seems that totally not aware the importance of the issue. Toyota put our lives in danger.
2005 Toyota Corolla. Consumer writes in concerning excessive internal pressure when air bag is deployed can cause the inflator to rupture. The consumer stated the parts were not available.
I received a letter in the mail that Toyota has decided that a defect which relates to my car model and year exists, in accordance with the national traffic and motor vehicle safety act. "the subject vehicles are equipped with front passenger air bag inflators which may have been manufactured in such a way as to have a potential for the intrusion of moisture over time. . . . . In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, striking the vehicles occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death. I should not ride with any passengers until this matter is addressed further" unfortunately I live in atlantic city, which has one of the highest humidity levels for a city in the united states. This scares me as I have a wife and 3 children, and not being able to drive my family in this car is just not an option. I spoke to Toyota and they are refusing to act on this matter and just say that "I am in phase 1 and until this matter reaches phase 2, nothing can be done".
Toyota is delayed in providing remedy for the "front passenger airbag inflator module recall" on my car. Toyota recommends not using the front passenger seat until then. This is not feasible since our family has only one car, we carry dogs/kids in the back seat, and my husband and I must be sitting in the front. Toyota dealer sunnyvale (CA) is not able to provide a loaner free of charge until remedy is available.

Recall on the airbag inflator module and the dealer tells us that it's been over 6 weeks and Toyota has not given them a fix. The notice we received from Toyota says not to use the front passenger seat. This takes away a primary function of the vehicle.
I received a notice in the mail over a month ago from Toyota stating that my vehicle's air bag inflators "may have been manufacture in such a way as to have a potential for the intrusion of moisture over time. . . This could create excessive internal pressure when the air bag is deployed and cause the inflator to rupture. . . Metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, striking the vehicle occupants potentially resulting in serious injury or death. " this is a fatal potential manufacturing error. It is also an extreme inconvenience, as I do not feel comfortable having passengers sit in the passenger seat due to the issue. I have made 2 calls to my local Toyota dealer, as well as one call to the Toyota customer experience center. My Toyota dealer informed me that they do not have the parts, both times, and the Toyota customer experience center reported that they "do not have a remedy for the problem as of yet. " I am appalled with the lack of attention this recall is receiving. I feel Toyota has failed to remedy the defect within a reasonable time. This is my official complaint to the administrator, national highway safety administration. Please inform Toyota of my discontent with their inability to make right a serious issue in a timely manner. Sincerely, xx.
Takata inflators. Received a recall notice at least 6 months ago. When is Toyota going to fix the problem? haven't heard anything at all.
I received a notice months ago from Toyota that the front passenger air bag inflator module is defective. They stated that a passenger should not ride in the car until the defect is fixed. It has been months and they still do not have the parts to fix this issue. This is ridiculous that they can't immediately fix this issue.

Takata recall: I received my only notification from Toyota the safety recall notice in late June early July 2015 regarding the inflator problem with my vehicle. From my understanding, the issue is caused by intrusion of moisture into the inflator system of the passenger airbag that causes the inflator to explode if the airbag is deployed. This explosion has been linked to many cases of serious injury and/or death. The notice informed me I would receive another notification when parts were available in my area to have the replacement conducted. It is now February 20, 2016 and in 8 months I have not received any more information regarding this serious life threatening issue. From the information I have found online, the parts should have started to be available in oregon in September 2015, that was 5 months ago and I have yet to hear any information on when I can expect this issue to be resolved. In the notice it asked to not have anyone sit in the passenger seat of the vehicle until repairs can be made. I understand this is a safety precaution, however, after 8 months and counting it has become quite an inconvenience. Furthermore, I live in portland, or and it is very humid/moist in this region of the country. This causes even more concern to me that this issue is not being resolved in a time sensitive manner. My complaint is that I have not received timely notice or information regarding when parts would be available in my region of the country and after 8 months, I am requesting someone contact me with more information that can help me resolve this serious problem with my vehicle in the very near future. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Received a recall notice in June 2015 stating that their is a problem with the airbag inflator module. It is now October 2015 and have heard nothing else. It states to not use my front passenger seat until the problem is fixed. That is not possible with me since I am a single mom with four kids one has to sit upfront. I believe this should have been found much sooner as should be fixed by now. I am putting my kids in risk every time I have to put one of them in the front seat when we have somewhere to go. I think Toyota should be doing more to fix this problem and faster.
I received a safety recall from Toyota on my car. The safety recall was for the front passenger air bag inflator assembly. The notice I received indicated to take the vehicle into the dealer & they would replace the inflator assembly. My daughter has the car at college & took it into the dealer for the safety recall. The Toyota dealer did not replace the inflator assembly but instead turned off the air bag & put a sticker on the dashboard that no one could ride in the front seat. While this takes care of Toyota's liability it does not solve the problem with my car. The dealer mentioned that Toyota was not going to replace the part at all. I spoke to Toyota & they said that they would eventually replace the part but did not know when.
Recalled front passenger air bag inflator module was disconnected by Toyota of denton, 4100 south I-35 east, denton, TX on November 28, 2014. It has now been 3 1/2 months since air bag was disconnected and at this time the dealer nor Toyota motor sales, u. S. A. , torrance, CA know when the replacement parts will be available. More than a reasonable time has passed and we still don't know when the fix will be done.
I was sent a letter from Toyota notifying me that my 2005 Toyota Corolla s is part of the tekata air bag inflator module recall I was instructed to take my car in to the local dealer to get this issue fixed. The Toyota fix which was not a fix at all was to disable my front passenger air bag and hang a warning sign not to have anyone ride in the front passenger seat. It has been nearly three months that I have not been able to use my front passenger seat. I feel three months is more than long enough to have this issue resolved. I only own one car and need the front passenger seat to provide transportation for my family. I have called both Toyota corporate and the local dealer and not getting any resolution.
