The contact stated while the vehicle was in possession of fitzgerald Toyota gaitherburg located 907 n frederick Ave, gathersburg, MD they were informed that their passenger side sensor was defective and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact felt as though the sensor should be covered under NHTSA campaign number:18v025000(air bag). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 95,000. Kh.

The airbag sensor light stays on all the time and there has never been a accident on my vehicle. Just wondering if there are problems with the air bags in the 2005 Corolla.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 04/24/2008

Vehicle impact a wood light pole a the bottom of a hill. Frontal damage broke the steel bumper reinforcement bar. Damage was directly in front of the left front impact sensor. Front air bags didn't deploy and seat belt pretensioners didn't activate. Only two adults in the vehicle at the time of crash and they both had seat belt on. Passenger hit rear view mirror and windshield.
