This is the third recall noticed I have received from Toyota. The first one, which was approximately 2 yrs ago for the windows, the second approximately 3 months ago for brake peddle, and the most recent (safety recall notice - interim notice, June 2013. This is very disturbing in that I purchased the car new in late 2002. How many times is this vehicle going to be recalled? at what point will Toyota make some sort of accommodation for the inconvenience and worry? please note, I have not had an incident with these issues. However, I could not submit form without entering a date.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that shortly after closing the driver side window while driving 40 mph, she noticed smoke. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the wire that controlled the window switch shorted, causing the passenger window motor to burn. As a result, both needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and the current mileage was 85,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Corolla le. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked in the garage he saw his drivers side window shatter without warning. The vehicle had not been inspected by a dealer nor was it repaired. The dealer was contacted and advised him that it happens and to bring the vehicle in. The failure and current mileages were approximately 5,000.
My driver side window lowers only part way when the temperature is lower than 70o and the window rattles when the window is raised. VIN 2t1br3244c215045 I contacted the Toyota customer service center, and spoke with mr. Karin knan, under Toyota case # 1011110634, who instructed he would be contact you with my issue; the parts were under warranty for 3 years/36k. I just received a call from my service manager, who stated that the repair and investigation involved removing the door panel and viewing the window regulator and bolts. Request your consideration of my vehicle issue, similar to the recall of defect investigation ea08-004.
The heater in our car was malfunctioning, it would take 15-20 minutes before it would get warm, we took it to the Toyota dealership( roughly 03/31/2010 ) where we purchased it ( and they have done all the maintenance, oil changes, transmission flush, etc. ) they looked at the car and just said that it needed some coolant and that was it. The heater worked for just a couple days and then the heater began doing the same thing again. On the night of 04/17/2010 while driving home the engine got very hot all of the sudden, we pulled over and purchased some more coolant and put it in the car , drove the car home and then on Monday 04/19/2010 we took it back in to have them look at it again and they said that there is a crack right down the middle of the engine block and that is why the coolant keeps draining. They told us we need to have the engine replaced. It is a 2005 Corolla with only 79,000 miles on it. We were 4,000 miles past our extended warranty. They said since they haven't seen this before that they would give us brand new engine but we would have to pay $ 2274. 00 for labor and a thermostat. It is currently at tony divino Toyota in riverdale , utah being repaired.

I heard rattling which I thought was from my trunk. After several attempts to locate the rattle, I discovered that it was my back window. There is a seal failure and you can literally lift the rear window in my 2008 Toyota Corolla. The Toyota dealership tells me they have never seen anything like this before. The car had approximately 50,000 miles when I first noticed the problem. The dealership tells me that I shouldn't wait to get this repaired. However, the dealership also said they would repair the seal, but I have to pay for the part that goes around the rear window and that my 100,000 extended warranty will not cover this. Unfortunately, that part does not go all the way around the rear window, leaves the bottom of the window exposed and thus the possibility for this to occur on all of these vehicles as well as reoccur on this one. I have taken pictures of this. I don't understand why I should pay for anything since this is not a wear and tear issue. It is defective!.

The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that due to the dynamics of the vehicle it is difficult to see out of the rear window whenever she drives in reverse. Due to the visibility defect she would need someone on the outside of the vehicle in order to safely drive in reverse. She noticed the defect immediately after she purchased the vehicle. She didnt notify Toyota since they offered her no assistance with a prior request. The current and failure mileages were approximately 8,500.
Toyota is ignoring the window run/weather stripping defect problem on 2004 Corollas. The stripping separated from the window frame causing bucking of the window.
The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that she cannot open a rear window and have the front window closed because the vehicle would vibrate drastically. She took her vehicle back to the dealer, but they could not repair it because it was an aerodynamic issue. Currently, the contact must keep her windows closed while driving until Toyota can remedy the issue. The failure mileage was 1,700. Updated 08/19/09 the consumer stated if the driver's window is up, and someone in the back seat opens a window, the entire vehicle shakes. Updated 08/20/09.
This is a follow up to a previous complaint. I felt compelled to do so after reading other issues people were having with there Toyota Corollas (s). I purchased this car June 1st 2009. Three weeks after purchase I noticed something was wrong with the paint. I took it to the dealers, the service dept manager looked at it and said it was due to the environment, the sales guy told me it was due to tree sap and the third time I took it the sales manager said it was from bird crap ( it's garaged most of the time). Weeks later I was hit by a concrete truck, at first thought it was the trucks fault but not real sure now because of the difficult steering with this car. At the time of the accident there was no air bag deployment. I had the car repaired by a private shop, they couldn't understand why the airbag did not deploy. While my car was there they looked at the paint. I have a black car with large white spots and was told there was a problem with the clear coat and it would cost around 4,000 to fix it. I again went to the dealership and was told this time that's what happens when you buy a black car. I have filed a complaint with Toyota and we all know where that has got me. I filed a complaint with the consumer complaint agency and Toyota failed to respond. Boy, for a reliable care the only thing I can rely on is poor quality and a death trap. I have a Dodge and will drive it before this death trap. Good luck trying to do a lane change and looking into the blind spots. I have almost hit cars on my right while attempting to do a lane change more times than I can count.
On January 31, 2009 at about 3:00 p. M. My car was parked in the driveway in the country - my brother, sister and I were standing 10 ft away from my car when the window exploded. The window was shattered and fell to the inside and outside of the car. No explained reason for this to happen. We were standing there doing nothing but talking and nobody else was around. There was no other damage to the car except the shattered window. From searching on the internet this unexplained window explosion has been happening to car windows. The temperature at the time was 65-68 degrees. I will pay to have the window replaced. Toyota will not acknowledge this is happening to Corollas.
My 2005 Toyota Corolla ce, the air conditioner just went out and there is no air coming out at all, it doesn't seem to be a problem with freon, it seems to be a defect in the car. No air hot or cold.
When you pick up speed driving and reach around 55mph or over, the car ducks off to the left as if its ready to go off the road. And this car has a lot of blind spots when trying to back up or see oncoming traffic.
Since I bought my car used last year, the passenger side window has been sticking sometimes. I thought that it usually happened when the weather was warm but realized that it even happened when in cold weather, so it is probably not weather related. When I want to put the window down, it has been popping down like it was stuck on something, I don't even feel like putting it down sometimes because I feel like im going to break the window motor. Then yesterday when I tried to put the window down. . . The door panel was popping out as if the window rubber was curling down into the window channel. . . Although that is not what I saw occurring. At that time it also made a popping noise which I have heard louder then other times.
The front passenger automatic window rattles and sounds like it is going to crack when window is rolled up and down on my 2005 Toyota Corolla. There was a recall for the 2003-2004 Toyotas, but not the 2005. The dealer said the problem is with the window bolt, but refused to repair for free since the recall was for the 2003-2004 model year vehicles. The issue I have is the same as described in that recall notice.
The contact owns a 2009 Toyota Corolla. The driver stated that with all of the existing recalls he would like to give his vehicle back to the dealer. The contact also stated that the vehicle has malfunctioned since he purchased it. The rubber was separating from the window and he had problems with the tires when the vehicle had over 20,000 miles. The contact was uncomfortable whenever he drove the vehicle and he no longer wants the hassle. The failure mileage was 33,678.
The plastic headlight lenses are clouded and yellowed and, as a result, obscures the brightness and effectiveness of the headlights. This is a safety hazard for driving at night as the headlight is dimmed to oncoming cars as wells as it lessens visibility for the driver. It should not be the responsibility of the vehicle owner to have the headlight lenses replaced when the cloudiness could be due to possible defective materials as this has not happened to any other car that I've owned and any that belong to other family members and friends. The lenses have gradually clouded starting about 2 years ago.
I drive alone yet my passenger side window failed at almost 3 years and very minimal usage. Now, at almost 6 years, my driver's side window has also failed. Cost to replace motor (per Toyota dealership) is $495. 00. I think Toyota should investigate their source and try to upgrade, this is not standard for electric windows.

Passenger front side window separated from rollers. Pop out.
Ok , once I did replaced on right side passenger window was shattered. I've paid and fixed, it was itself when I was using down the window machine but it shattered wow! unexpected happened.
The window tabs on the passenger window broke & the window came off the tracks. I took the car to be repaired at a local dealership. I received notice from Toyota that there was a recall for this. I submitted my paid receipts & they advised my repairs did not qualify for reimbursement. Recall 80! (ssc 80a).
On 5/30/07 I picked up a 2007 Toyota Corolla ce. . At the time of the test drive I did not notice this safety issue & perhaps it was due to the distraction of the sales person's constant talking. . Since I am short I need to move the seat up forward to be comfortable when driving & to be able to see clearly, but once I move the seat forward & tilt the steering wheel so that I can drive comfortably & safely I cannot see all of the speedometer readings. . On the left I can see 0-20 mph & on the right I can see 90-110 mph anything in between is not at eye level & I cannot see the speedometer readings. . When I drive in order to see my speed I need to take my eyes off the road look down & under the top part of the steering wheel. . Obviously this is extremely dangerous when doing 70 mph on a parkway which I needed to do & I consider it to be a safety issue with this Toyota. . I cannot believe that Toyota actually put this out on the market. How did this vehicle pass safety tests ? also, on this exact same vehicle I have filed a complaint on the tires odi # 10200011 which I am still having a serious safety problem with. . Has Toyota sacrificed consumer safety for production & income ? this is not my first new car but it has become a horrific experience for me and I am afraid that these vehicle problems will become my statistic. . Communications with Toyota have been unsuccessful. .

Rpm's increase when my foot is on the brake and the force of the rpm increase decompresses the brake pedal and my foot slips of the brake pedal. I have not experienced an accident due to this but it worries me that it may. This happens on a daily basis. I heard this may be normal but now reading that other people experienced this, I plan to get it checked. Aside from this, there is dash board rattling, seal issue with windows because they whistle and also paint flakes off from a small ding.
