37 Wiper problem of the 2010 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/01/2020

The windshield wipers stop mid cycle. At anytime while driving. If I wiggle them they will resume function. In heavy rain losing wipers and visibility is a huge safety issue. Sometimes they won’t even work when I turn them on and then they will all of a sudden turn on.

38 Wiper problem of the 2020 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/15/2020

Dealer stated that there was a chemical buildup on the inside of the windshield that could affect the safety camera sensor (they claimed it was probably windex). Dealership claimed that the camera enclosure is not sealed and particulate may enter the enclosure. Said the problem is not covered under warranty. What happens is someone is a smoker or lives on a dirt road? does Toyota expect particulate in the enclosure to be acceptable? this may impact the performance of the safety systems, especially if there is sun glare. I bought the car in October 2019.

39 Wiper problem of the 2010 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/01/2020

Sunroof seal is lifted, not just only in my car I had seen a lot of the same car with the same defective lifted seal area, specific the right side of the seal. Seal rusted in the inside. Preventing sometimes a screeching noise when I open the sunroof causing friction to the metal. It would cause fire due to friction to the surface of the metal causing possible hazard to the motor that operates the sunroof too.

40 Wiper problem of the 2020 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 06/03/2020

I was driving down the road and my driver window blew up. Yes, it blew up into a million pieces all over me and hit my face. Nothing had hit my windshield. None of my windows were down. I thought I was getting shot at, the noise of it blowing terrified me! I took my car to Toyota and said there was nothing they could do!! my warranty won't even cover it! it's 700 dollars to fix it. I know this was not my fault and nothing hit my window it would have not exploded if that was the case.

41 Wiper problem of the 2012 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 05/08/2020

There is a defect on the interior rear view mirror. I attached a photo, notice the black marks at the bottom of the mirror. . . These will get larger over time and affect visibility. This already happened with the original interior rear view mirror, which was replaced at bredemann Toyota in park ridge, IL. This mirror is never touched, so this is very odd.

42 Wiper problem of the 2020 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 05/01/2020

2020 model/4-months old: a stress fracture of the windshield occurred suddenly for no apparent reason. Upon inspection the fracture started at the point of installation under the hood with no other obvious signs of damage or impact. The fracture starts at the edge of the glass and runs up to eye-level, then runs across the windshield.

43 Wiper problem of the 2014 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 03/04/2020

I bought a 2014 Corolla on 03. 04. 2020 and, I have discovered at night (especially) all I get is a glare due to the number of defogger lines on the rear windshield. I cannot see any vehicles behind me at all. All I see is a glare of lights, I have no idea how far or near the vehicles behind me are.

45 Wiper problem of the 2020 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 01/06/2020

The drivers side head light has a v shape "void" in its pattern and makes the car unsafe to drive at night. The passenger side does not exhibit this same pattern, so when negotiating a left hand curve, the void is very noticeable and makes seeing up ahead in the distance very difficult (not possible). This happens to fall in the area of what I would call my "look ahead distance" and as such makes the car unsafe to drive at night. This "void" is not present when the head lights are put on "high", so I feel it is a led light bulb issue more than anything else. . . But the servicing dealer refuses to fix this problem citing a similar 2020 Corolla displays the same pattern. They pulled another car into the shop and displayed it along with mine against a wall. While I agree the patterns on the wall looked similar, this was not a good test because you need to see what pattern of light is cast down range at night. Please see attached picture. If all newer model Corolla se exhibit this light pattern, than the vehicles need to be recalled and fixed along with mine.

46 Wiper problem of the 2020 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

47 Wiper problem of the 2020 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/01/2019

Wavy windshield. Disorienting when in motion. Dealer said all vehicles have this. I have check and all do not. They said it is known but not a defect. I believe it is poor lamination and along with a bad view may not protect in an accident. I don't believe it is 'normal".

54 Wiper problem of the 2012 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 01/01/2019

I have noticed that there is a very strong wave effect on the front and rear windshield that covers the length of the glass from top to bottom and a series of waves of variable width that cover the entire windshield. It seems as if the thickness of the glass varies. The objects change shape while driving. It becomes impossible to observe the approaching traffic and distances. When you try to turn it is very difficult. It is very difficult to concentrate on the road due to the distortion present on the driver's side. The effect is similar to looking through glasses that have the wrong recipe, or wearing too strong reading glasses. I am worried about having an accident due to this situation. Driving the car causes migraines and headaches.

55 Wiper problem of the 2017 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 12/21/2018

I recently purchased a used 2017 Corolla and I agree with 2 others that the windshield has a design flaw. It is extremely angled in toward the car and reflects the dashboard in the window. The dashboard is like a mirror and the ventilation levers that run along the dash reflect in the lower half of the window and thus cut off visibility. I have to wear sunglasses whenever I drive it and even so, need to be very careful not to hit a pedestrian etc. I called Toyota national but tina c. (case #1910213249) denied having any knowledge of complaints about this. Very dangerous feature and after being a life-long Toyota owner, I am ready to switch.

56 Wiper problem of the 2017 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 12/19/2018

While coming out of a revered position, I was driving forward and my brakes vibrated. This caused my car to stall while in the driving position.

57 Wiper problem of the 2018 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/20/2018

This will probably not make the cut for big problems, but I'm sending it anyway since a general rue or advisory on dash reflectivity might. The 2018 Corolla tachometer and speedometer have a brightly chromed bevel with a parabolic curve of about 1/4 inch all around the dial that captures the sun from almost any angle and reflects it back into the driver's eye. Like any good parabola. Do young engineers not know this kind of basic geometry? do they not know we looked at this in the 50's and 60's? as I was driving home Thursday and the sun was moderately low at about 530 pm, I started noticing about a half dozen of those purple yellow sunblind spots in my vision. They were in various states of strength and fade. I drove with my hand blocking the sun for the next 15 minutes. Because of the shape of the chromed trim--perfect for the collection of light--I had to hold my hand very close to the speedometer to block the strong, focused reflection of the sun. Way more than "glare. " very persistent regardless of significant changes in direction.

59 Wiper problem of the 2014 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 06/20/2018

Intense glare on front windshield resulting in zero visibility. This happened twice. Other uncomfortable visibility issues in direct sunlight happening at least a half dozen times. Happened when car was in motion or just starting to move on city streets.

60 Wiper problem of the 2009 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 06/18/2018

About three weeks ago my windshield wipers stopped working when it was raining. I had to pull over until the rain stopped. My mechanic did a diagnostic and thought there was a bad connection with the transmission but the windshield wipers still won't work. I then was told it could be the windshield wiper motor.

61 Wiper problem of the 2011 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 06/13/2018

I was notified of the air bag recall a year ago but the car dealerships in my area does not have the parts and I need to use my vehicle daily. So I am not sure what to do from here for that but I believe that the appropriate time to remedy this recall has past already and the fact that we have our children riding with us and we are unaware that their life is in danger or because we can not get it fixed is not acceptable. Then on top of that I am having issues like when my 2011 Corolla is sitting idle it will rev up the engine without touching the gas pedal and does this randomly and without warning and also while I am driving around 55 mph on the interstate or highway sometimes it will dramatically drop and lose about 10- 15 mph speed for no reason and this happens randomly as well. And this fluctuation happens during cruise control the most so I no longer even use that function. Also both headlights have moisture in them and are so fogged up now that visibility is almost impossible at night now. Also the weather striping around all my windows have dry rotted and broke off and there is practically nothing left of stripping anymore. Then the center dash above the radio just broke and gave out under my phone holder while driving, it broke into about 15 different pieces. I know that my phone or the holder is even close to heavy enough to cause the dash panel to cave in like that. I called to get a price on the dash and it was like $250+ and who can afford that for a piece of plastic. Lastly my driver and passenger seat will get stuck if you try adjusting them and sometimes it will let you move the seat but to do so you have to hop up and down for several minutes and throughout the adjustment to get the seat to move in any direction.

62 Wiper problem of the 2017 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 05/24/2018

The vehicle was stationary and when I went to drive my vehicle I found a stress crack on the wind shield starting from the top at the passenger side and it cracked toward the driver side. I found this to be a safety issue, so I conducted some research and found that this is not the first time that a stress crack has occurred in the Toyota vehicles so this was not an isolated incident. I took the vehicle to the Toyota dealer, where I purchased it and a glass specialist conducted an inspection and he confirmed that it was a manufactured defect. This is cause for concern because I was told that even though it was deemed as a manufactured defect that the windshield will not be replaced by the dealer. So through no fault of my own, I was told that I had to put in an insurance claim by a Toyota manager. This is a safety issue and an investigation should be conducted on these vehicles.

63 Wiper problem of the 2018 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 05/18/2018

Blind spot can not see on coming moving vehicles when backing in a parking space and backing out, highly potential accident design , of the rear seat head rest too tall blocking over half the height of the rear glass, huge blind spot feel to tense to try to park it by backing in. ,and back out of parking space. Had it not been for another good defensive driver the car would have hit be, only owned this car less than a month and tried to get dealer ship to let me have a different designed car and they refused , ,calling insurance company and talk to them and see if I should continue driving this vehicle, if they say no then I'm telling Toyota to come and get it. I'm not paying 30,000 for an unsafe car. To drive.

64 Wiper problem of the 2014 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 12/18/2017

Tl-contact owns a 2014 Toyota Corolla s vehicle has 29000 miles----- contact statted when defroster is turned on the radion cuts off--- rear window defroster wiring destroyed. Defroster stopped working---- contact spoke with Toyota and Toyota stated contact would have to pay for new window. . . . Warranty is expired. . . 0 recalls associated with this VIN. . . Cb.

65 Wiper problem of the 2014 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 11/17/2017

Several times I came too close to hitting a car on my right side that I could barely see because of the way the car is made. The back half of the car's roof is held up by two "posts" (I don't know their real name). These are wide enough that they block a lot of my vision when I am trying to decide if it is safe to change into the lane on my right. When this is combined with the right, rear headrest, it is very difficult to see a car if he is in that huge blindspot. This design is very dangerous.

66 Wiper problem of the 2015 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/14/2017

Vehicle sold with a defective driver side window. Took our 2015 Toyota Corolla into a shop to get the windows tinted, the vendor that tinted the windows stated the vehicle windows should not be rolled down for 5 days to allow the window tint to dry. We followed the instructions from the vendor (tint my ride) - 1330 s parker rd, denver, CO 80231 - (720) 808-8286. We begin rolling the windows down after 5 days as instructed a few weeks went by and I noticed a gap between the tint and the car door. I took the car back to the vendor tint my ride to have them correct the window tint issue and the representative who sold my the window tint (veronica) mentioned that it was not a window tint issue and that it was a car window issue with the window sliding and being off track. This is a very serious safety issue if car manufacturers are able to sell brand new vehicles with windows that are defective and off track. This vehicle was bought brand new and has never been in an accident and we have always taken the vehicle in to get it maintenance according to the dealerships recommendations. How can a dealership sell a brand new vehicle to a customer that has a defective driver side window? this needs to be investigated as a safety issue as I am concerned there may be other safety concerns with this vehicle.

67 Wiper problem of the 2011 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 10/01/2017

The contact owns a 2011 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated that the rear driver's side window and front passenger side window failed to operate when the window switch was depressed. The vehicle was not taken to be diagnosed nor repaired. Herb chambers Toyota of boston (32 brighton Ave, boston, MA 02134 (617) 787-1700) was contacted about the failure. The contact declined to pay for the diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v689000 (visibility). The approximate failure mileage was 89,000.

68 Wiper problem of the 2015 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 09/19/2017

I want to report that I found a loose bolt poking out of the drain hole on the rear passenger door of our 2015 toytota Corolla. It was oriented in such a way that only the threaded end was poking out the hole and held inside the door by the bolt head. I took it to the dealer and as a courtesy they removed the door panel and determined it had come from one of the window parts (regulator or motor). They reinstalled and tightened the bolt. I read on the internet this was a serious problem with previous Toyotas and created safety concerns. This may be a continued problem with Toyotas. It was obviously a very small chance that the bolt actually landed in a fashion to partially stick out of the drain hole so I was able to spot this, so I can't help but wonder if other window bolts in the car have, or will, come loose and fall into the interior of the doors without detection. This may also be the case with many other Corollas sold. Bolts that become loose and fall off of window parts could lead to inadvertent and dangerous failure of windows on the road. I suggest you investigate this potential safety issue.

69 Wiper problem of the 2016 Toyota Corolla

Failure Date: 08/12/2017

The windshield suddenly darkened from the top to about halfway down ( right in your line of vision). This happened at night , including during a rainstorm. It feels like you are driving in a dark cave or a place where your visibility is hindered. It appears that the tinting of the windshield is too dark. This only happened when the vehicle was in motion.

70 Wiper problem of the 2017 Toyota Corolla
