2 Power Window problem of the 2004 Toyota Highlander

Failure Date: 06/07/2010

After we purchased our 2004 Highlander some months down the road the back windows would get jammed when rolled down. When rolled down they would not roll back up so we would know not to ever roll them down. It was unfortunate to accommodate the vehicle rather than vise versa and now they simply went down on their own and will not roll back up. The mistake was procrastinating years before when the problem was first noticed and not taking it right away but now that they are completely down I need to know if this is a 2004 generic defect or what is going on with my Toyota.

5 Power Window problem of the 2003 Toyota Highlander

Failure Date: 06/28/2008

This is regarding my 2003 Toyota Highlander. In January 2007, the rear passenger window came off its track and ceased to work. The adjusted the regulator and put it back on track and charged me $210. In June 2008 the same thing happened to the drivers side rear window. This is very coincidental that it would happen to both windows.

6 Power Window problem of the 2005 Toyota Highlander

Failure Date: 03/23/2007

Purchased new Toyota Highlander 2005 model year in July 2005. Vehicle was parked in driveway since. Vehicle only has 23,000 miles. Corrossion developed within 9 months of purchase in these areas: base of antenna, antenna mast, window frames, and aluminum or alloy wheels show bubbling in the surface that are increasing in size and diameter. * dealership and Toyota were contacted to remedy problems with wheels without success. Dealership repainted corroded windows. Dealership and Toyota claim corrosion is due to environment - I have had 2 other vehicles parked in the same location without visible signs of corrossion. I am concern that the continued expansion of the bubbles and corrossion on the wheels will create a safety hazard if it weakens the structural integrity of the whees.

8 Power Window problem of the 2003 Toyota Highlander

Failure Date: 11/03/2004

Automatic window lock mechanism continued to go up and down with a single touch. This only happened on the driver's side. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer, but the dealer stated there was nothing they could do, and for the consumer to call Toyota. Consumers main concern was that a child could get strangled to death if unsupervised.

9 Power Window problem of the 2003 Toyota Highlander

Failure Date: 06/30/2003

On the way home from the dealer we opened the rear windows slightly. The result was a pulsating pressure painful to the ears of all occupants. Increasing speed increased the painful effect we later learned was something experienced by all Highlanders from 2001. The dealer said it was the "first" he heard of this phenomenon. Toyota customer relations said they were aware this happens when you open rear window(s) in a Highlander and agrees that it should have been disclosed to us giving us an opportunity to purchase another model instead. At this point this condition is totally unacceptable and the dealer is giving us no indication they are going to do anything but hope I give up. To purchase a car for $30,000+ and be told not to open the windows is absurd. It is unfortunate I am being forced to go to arbitration when the car has such low mileage. I have since found out that the Highlander is on the national lemon list. I hope this will help anyone considering the purchase of a Toyota Highlander.

12 Power Window problem of the 2002 Toyota Highlander

When driving Highlander at speed of 25 phr or more with rear windows down and front windows up, air entering cabin space causes high vibrations that make hearing impared. And ear drums uncomfortable for all passengers. The first time this occurred , I was driving with my infant son. I was not expecting to experince what came next once I partially lowered the rear windows. I was worried, I might have damaged my infants sons ear drums.

13 Power Window problem of the 2002 Toyota Highlander

Failure Date: 04/15/2002

This is a 4-door model. When front windows are closed and rear door windows are lowered it sounds like an airplane flew over the back seat; noise created is horrendous. You cannot continue driving with the noise. Rolling down "a" front window eliminates the problem. I can't imagine the consequences of someone having a dog in the back seat and rolling down a rear window so they don't mess up the glass.
