1 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2008 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 11/01/2019

The dashboard lights go out, meaning you can no longer see the mph, the fuel, and everything important to drive with gauges. This can happen at anytime, driving or parked, on any street in any weather. Also note, you can no longer shut the car off, unless you hold the start button for 20 seconds. Sometimes the car will still not shut off, it's also sometimes hard to tell if the car is off, because there is no more dash. The only well to tell is to see if the radio goes on. There are a few ways to reset this major malfunction, to try and get things working again by disconnecting batteries, but this is a dangerous problem, that could kill someone while driving and needs attention and recalled soon as possible!.

2 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2009 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 11/09/2017

Display for odometer, speedometer and gas gauge goes out intermittently. The combination meter (a. K. A. instrument panel or cluster, the thing you're looking at in front of you) is bad. There are several electrical components in the circuit board that control how it powers up, and they fail. Lacking the ability to power up, the display goes black. Joe myers quoted us $1156 for repair, and one week repair time. Service advisor said that repair part is fixed part so that problem will no longer occur. We must drive the vehicle till we replace it. No offer was made to provide a loaner car if 07 Prius went into shop for replacement cluster. It is really unsafe to drive without knowing speed that car is traveling. And we would not know gas level. Who wants to run out of fuel? very unsafe. Why isn't Toyota owning up to this deficiency? shouldn't it be a recall repair? we are the original owner and we have taken the vehicle into the dealership service shop for repairs since we purchased the vehicle.

3 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2003 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 07/10/2017

There is no thermostat guauge in a 2003 Toyota Prius , the car over heats and you don't know until your in the middle of traffic nearly getting killed. Toyota was contacted, but say not a recall and they don't honestly car cause car is old . That's not right , anything you still use from cars or even medicine have later come back to hurt or killed people. There is no hot to cold gauge in the car , 2003 only . I have investigated and see people publish about this but let it slip by . I was driving with no installed guauge and survived through make a left hand turn on a stalled vehicle that over heated and was later check by Toyota technicians that said f there was a thermostat gauge problem would of most likely be avoided. Somebody can't keep open and closing the radiator cap cause of this missing gauge . Oil has dipstick you check !!! safely too. Not going fry my face or burn my hands on keep checking the radiator. Plus with a proper guage you might know if your car is cooled down or safer to check. Toyota had refused to address or claim any issues. Case# 1707283203. 4 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2011 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 08/01/2015

I noticed around 90,000 miles that my car began consuming oil at any accelerated rate, so I didn't think too much about it. Then I noticed that I my oil gauge was turning on every 1,000-1,200 miles, my car was completely out of oil. I went online to Toyota Prius forums and started doing more research and this is a common problem for 2010-2011 Prius's. Bob smith Toyota, in la crescenta, who sold me the car, ran an oil consumption study and concluded that there is a major issue and they contacted Toyota did not want to acknowledge there is an problem for the sake that this could result in a class action lawsuit based on negligence.

5 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2006 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 02/07/2015

Parked car at night in colorado in February, 2015. Outside temperature was approx 25 degrees farenheit. We ate dinner at a restaurant, came out and started the 2006 Prius. Instrument cluster panel showeing the fuel gauge, odometer, shift position and speedometer failed to come on. Turned car off and on numerous times - no instrument cluster panel lights. The following morning, the instrument cluster panel worked fine. This has happened occasionally since the first incident in February. This is a safety concern; one is unable to tell which gear the vehicle is in, the speed of the vehicle, or how much fuel the vehicle has. After contacting Toyota, they told me the extended warranty had expired in December 2014. As a safety defect, Toyota should still be covering a known problem.

6 Recreational Vehicle Lpg Tank Valve/gauge problem of the 2007 Toyota Prius

Failure Date: 02/21/2013

The dash board did not display when I turned on my car. Only the blinkers, and air bag lights work on the dash. The gas gauge and the speedodometer do not show, it is black. And my car will not turn off. It seams to me that this issue is a major safety issue.
