Failure Date: 08/07/2007

I have a 1998 Toyota Rav4 and the retractor of the driver's seatbelt is no longer operable. I contacted Toyota and they referred me to the local dealer and he offered to replace and install a new seatbelt and retractor for half of their normal charge of approximately $400. 00. I think they should replace it at no charge.

2 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem of the 2003 Toyota RAV4

Failure Date: 01/20/2005

When the consumer rear ended another vehicle at 25 mph the front air bag did not deploy, nor did the seat belt restrain the consumer. Vehicle was towed. The dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. . Vehicle was totaled.

3 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem of the 1996 Toyota RAV4

Failure Date: 01/10/2001

Driver' s seat belt fails to release for usage, needs to jerk hard to pull it out. Would retract back very slowly. Also, seat belt will not allow driver to move in seat. Took vehicle to dealer, and was informed that retractor needs to be repaired due to being broken on inside.

4 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem of the 1997 Toyota RAV4

Failure Date: 08/07/1997

Upon being broadsided by another vehicle, the car spun into a traffic island on the passenger's side. Sea tbelt failed to retract and driver wa sthrown towards passenger's side. The driver's head struck the post/door frame or roof, resulting in injuries.

5 Front Seat Belt Retractor problem of the 2002 Toyota RAV4

While traveling 35 mph tires somehow got caught between pavement/grove on side of road. Truck then pulled to right, and owner tried to maintain stability. Truck went off the road, rolling over several times. Seat belt became loose, and no air bag deployed. This is was a rental vehicle. Please describe details.
