1 Engine Grinding Noise problem of the 2005 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 06/26/2014

Both vsc trac and engine light are on. Engine makes a loud grinding noise every time the car needs to be warmed up. Read other reports that Sequoia 2005 owners are having the same issues. Shouldn't there be a recall by now for safety issue?.

2 Engine Grinding Noise problem of the 2001 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 07/27/2013

After coming back from trip, me and my family were heading home (we were about 2 miles from home), and upon coming to a red light, I stepped the brake pedal on my 2001 Toyota Sequoia, and the car came to a complete stop; but when the green light traffic came on, and as soon as I let go of the brake pedal, and about to press the gas pedal, the car just stalled ( also with battery light on indication lit, check engine on, abs lit, vsc trac lit, vsc off lit, brake light indication lit, abs light). So, first thing I did is turn off the engine , put the car in the park gear ( at the same time my foot is on the brake pedal), but as soon as I turn on the engine, put the car in drive and let go of the brake pedal, the car stalled again. Next thing I did is let 2 people push the car while in neutral to put the car in a safe place where there is no traffic, upon them pushing the car, they left, and the car was still running even no one pushing it, and came the scariest 20 seconds of my life, car made a a loud annoying grinding sound, car still moving, even with emergency brake on, my foot on the brake, key removed from ignition, car placed in park, in other words I had no control of the car. After 20 seconds, the car came to a complete stop, and we got out of the car scared and shaking, I thought we were going to die that day, but thank god the car stopped, or maybe my kids angels helped avoided an accident. Also good thing there was no heavy incoming traffic, there was 1 or 2 cars only in the way that stayed out of our way. I need help, Toyota has to recall and fix it because is a safety issue and also it is the right thing to do, if not I will be reporting these to the better business bureau and the local state consumer agency.

3 Engine Grinding Noise problem of the 2002 Toyota Sequoia

Failure Date: 09/28/2006

In 8/06 I noticed a roaring/grinding noise coming from my end. L. Bearing replaced x2. Problem remained. Then replaced the right front bearing. Still to no avail. I then took my car to Toyota in tampa who stated the replaced bearing had been pressed in too tight. I took my car back to the mechanic who then took the entire assembly over Toyota in clearwater to replace the entire assembly. Still no resolution. Tire problem? so, I took it back to the tire kingdom who put on new michelin cross terrain SUV tires. Problem remained. So I took it back to them and they then put on a new set of michelin ltx tires. Problem remained. So, I then took it to collisiontec in clearwater, thinking that perhaps tire kingdom might have bent something when they originally rotated the tires. (the certified Toyota mechanic had previously inspected everything under my car when he first had it but had been unable to detect any damage). Collisiontec drove the car and did an initial inspection, but could not detect anything. They have asked to have me bring the car back so that they can keep it for a week and do a complete inspection. In the meantime, my check engine light came on and the vsc/vtc light came on, so I took it back to the Toyota mechanic. The O2 sensor needs to be fixed/replaced. To fix the vsc/vtc Toyota doesn't sell the one part needed, only the complete set for $900! this is all on top of the original roar/grinding/vibration problem which still exists!! reapairs now up to 2k & no resolution. Also, my car was recalled for the ball joint problem. There is no sticker indicating ball joints replaced. If the ball joints were not replaced as they should have been, could this be the source of the roar/grinding/vibration? this roar/grinding/vibration is coming from the front and occurs only when the car is in motion.
