1 Brake Light On problem of the 2018 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 08/22/2019

Had an appointment to take my vehicle in for a recall, showed up to do the recall on the drive, service advisor said they can't do the recall on my vehicle. Why call and email about the recall on my vehicle to have me drive to the dealership to be told no. Waste of time. The recall on my vehicle is "special service campaign k0b (remedy notice) - certain 2018 2019 model year Tacoma and tundra - millimeter wave radar sensor". I've had the vehicle come to a stop and had the brake light on in the morning with morning dew, happened a few times in the last couple months.

Abs warning lights came on with stability warning light, 10 amp fuse blew, brake lights stop working, stick shift locked. Replaced 10 amp fuse warning lights went away but by driving the car the brakes start to stall the car making it impossible to keep driving and all the warning lights described before came back on. But this time the stick shift did not lock. Safety hazard. When the problem started the vehicle was stationary, but then it happen on the road.

4 Brake Light On problem of the 2012 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 07/10/2017

Driving at high way speed; the abs light, parking brake light, traction light, lost power to windows, a/c, radio, power steering, engine was running rough, then the check engine light came on. Could be a safety issue of control of vehicle for drivers not paying attention. Toyota dealer said the root cause was a bad cell in battery that caused the ign#2 fuse to be blown. These batteries have known issues to be bad from the factory. Reported earlier about 30000 miles the factory battery would not start vehicle and dealer said they replaced because of a bad cell. I own a 2008 Toyota Tacoma also , same model and make as being reported and that battery has been replaced 2 times for same reason.

5 Brake Light On problem of the 2005 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 12/28/2013

It was clear and dry on the day of the accident. The hov lane was dry and newly paved. I was traveling approximately 65-60 mpg when I saw brake lights. I began to decelerate and step on the brakes at about 300 feet. Suddenly, I noticed that the vehicle in front of me was not stopping, but rather that it had already stopped! at approximately 200 feet away from the car, I pressed my brake petal to the floor. At 20 feet behind him, I said to myself that my vehicle had enough room to stop before hitting him. But something happened at this point. It felt like someone was pushing my vehicle from the back (it was not being pushed), or the vehicle accelerated, or that the abs system released the pressure on the brakes. The result was that I rear-ended the vehicle. Although our airbags deployed, neither I nor my passenger had contact with the airbags. I was probably going less than 15 mph at impact. When braking, I never felt the tattle-tell feeling of a pulsating brake pedal when the abs system goes into effect. I have had problems with the abs system in the past when driving in 4-wheel drive in snow and driving off road. The abs system would take the braking control away from me, which has caused some problems. This happened in 2009 (off road) and 2010 in deep snow. I took the vehicle to the dealership to examine my braking and abs system. They could not find any problems. If the abs is at fault, this would be the first time since 2010 and the first time on dry road. The specifications for my vehicle say that it only takes 126 feet to make a stop. The vehicle was totaled and sold by the insurance company. They will hold it for only 4 days for investigation. The vehicle was recalled and serviced for similar problems in the past. I contacted the Toyota regional office on 02/27/2014, but they will not do an investigation.

6 Brake Light On problem of the 2013 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 03/08/2013

This is a very commonly reported phenomenon, see the websites listed at the bottom. Reported phenomenon has occurred approximately 10 times within the previous 5000 miles. When entering a turn with no brake applied, most commonly a cloverleaf, the vehicle stability control will engage and apply the brakes in the middle of the turn. No brake lights are displayed so vehicles behind are not aware of the sudden slowing. Environmental conditions were dry, sunny, and the vehicle speed is well within a safe speed. This is very repeatable in specific locations. This problem was been reported to dublin Toyota and they do not know how to fix it, but will charge me to try a zero point calibration which is not proven to resolve this known problem. . . . 7 Brake Light On problem of the 2007 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 12/27/2009

Sunday after 2009 christmas, we went to church. As we pull into the church parking lot and getting ready to back in one of the parking lot and our car Toyota Tacoma accelerate all of sudden with rapid speed and slam into the rear bumper of another parked vehicle (Honda accord). No one was hurt but our Tacoma front bumper and Honda's rear bumper was damaged. After that our truck brake light remain blinking and we can hear some clicking noise. We called police and reported the incident. We also left a note for Honda's owner to call police for further claim to fix they bumper. The following Monday, we took our truck to nearest Toyota dealer (lakenorman Toyota dealer over huntersville, nc) to have them check on our truck. The technician had to adjust something with brake and he told us that, the accident was likely caused by brake or gas pedal being stuck. I requested him to put that in writing and he was not willing to do so. We requested statefarm claim adjuster to file the claim to Toyota's claim department and they sent letter.

8 Brake Light On problem of the 2003 Toyota Tacoma

Failure Date: 09/01/2006

I purchased a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. I have had a problem with the brake light coming on in the winter. When I press the brake the first time the light stays on until the truck warms up; then goes out. I took the truck to Toyota and they couldn't find a problem. Now the light is periodically coming up and staying on a couple of minutes in the warm weather. I again took it to Toyota and they again couldn't find a problem.
