We have been having trouble with my 2008 Toyota Tacoma truck with the engine revving when we first start it up. We took it to the dealer. They said that this is "normal" last week we took it in due to a safety recall notice for sudden acceleration problems that Toyota claims is due to floor mats. Dealer cut down the accelerator pedal, reprogrammed the computer control system, rotated the tires. Upon pulling out of the dealership the steering wheel vibrated (side to side) and car bucked (front to back) there were loud grinding and banging noises. Car pulled strongly to the left. I took my foot off of the accelerator . Instead of slowing, the engine suddenly revved up. Due to oncoming traffic on both sides of us, I focused on steering us out of trouble by keeping us in our lane. I did not apply brake. I had thought that without gas, the car would gradually slow down on its own. Instead of slowing the engine revved up! truck suddenly lurched 90 degrees to left, jerked steering wheel our of my hands vehicle lurched into the oncoming traffic lane, whole front passenger side tire assembly came off and headed one way and the truck went the other. We were thrown forward, down and to the right. The vehicle kept moving until we crashed into concrete entrance/exit of dealership. I put on emergency brake. Dealer says "simple human error mechanic forgot to tighten bolts on tire" I think this goes way beyond a tire problem. They messed with computer control system and the accelerator pedal. I can't see how tires cause engines to rev up. Updated 01/28/11

The contact owns a 2010 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that when the vehicle was traveling 5-10 mph the front wheels started making a clanging sound that comes through the steering wheel to make it shake. The contact has had the entire front end inspected by two Toyota dealers, but they could not duplicate the failure. The contact was concerned that the failure needed to be checked on a country or dirt road, because this was when the failure occurred. The contact was concerned that the failure would also occur on city roads. The vehicle was also inspected by a third dealer. The failure mileage was 1000 and the current mileage was 3800. Shimmy and tramping of front steering at freeway speeds (45 -70 mph) worse after hitting bumps. Truck jumped sideways one foot on turn while crossing bridge after encountering a bump this almost caused an accident. I have complained about this problem to the dealer several times, since the truck was new.
Toyota Tacoma trd sport 2007 there is a problem with the steering/suspension system, when the road has a slight inclination to the side, the truck dangerously tends to go out of the road if the steering wheel is left untouched for one second the truck goes out of the road. The dealer checked other new trucks 2008 or 2009 and it was the same they did not offer any repair, just said it was a "normal" condition in Tacomas.

The problems seems to occur at speeds of 55 to 65 mph. It comes and goes and get to point sometimes if feels very unsafe to handle at higher speeds. I have told the dealer twice about it and they say there's nothing wrong, yeah right.

: the contact stated there is a vibration in the front end of the vehicle at speeds of 25 to 35 mph. The front tires have been replaced once trying to remedy the problem. The independent repair shop personnel determined the vibration was due to defect in the front suspension . The manufacturer has been contacted.
My 2005 Toyota Tacoma pickup has severe paint chipping problems on the rocker panels, lower doors, and front of the bedsides. Toyota is denying responsibility. They want to do a paint repair which will depreciate the value of my truck instead of giving me a new truck which is the only way to properly correct the problem. Unless they were to strip my truck down to bare metal and repaint from scratch, there is no other way to do it properly.
No known events leading to the failure. Progressive, successive failure of bolts holding left front wheel assembly and suspension arm to the truck. This caused separation of mentioned member from the vehicle resulting in total loss of control and overturning of said vehicle. The vehicle was a total loss as a result of the incident.

The vehicle rocks and sways back and forth like it's going go totally out of control at various speeds. It is worst in windy conditions. The dealership has replaced all four shocks and has had the truck on three different occassions. They said they contacted Toyota and was told not to do anything else. The dealership acknowledges there is a problem, but will not do anything else under the warranty, because Toyota said not to. The vehicle is very unsafe to drive at this time. It is my only means of transportation. I hope that you can please help me. I don't know what else to do. This is my 3rd Toyota truck sense 1988. Talking to the service rep and test driving it with one of there mechanics and them all saying there is somthing wrong with the suspenion and also changing the shocks to try and alieviate the problem, but yet refuse to do anymore to fix the problem, is something I don't understand. I hope that you can help me. Thank you.
Toyota states it's goodyears' problem and goodyear states it's Toyota's problem. I feel like a yoyo. My problem starts at 60mph where there is a vibration on the front end. The vibration gets worse at 75 and then smooths out around 83. I took the truck to cobb county Toyota ,and jesse, a service advisor, told me that my tire was 42lbs. Of road force - - - way out of specs. . . . . . Needs to be replaced. Jesse advised me to notify a goodyear tire store because it is their responsibility. So I notified tirequest goodyear tire store in cartsville GA. Kalvin, store manager, said that is a dealer (Toyota) problem. Tirequest balanced the tire the best they could. I continued to have the same problem. On 4/21/2000 I called goodyears 1-800-321-2136 customer assistance , ref#3888832, susan. She called a goodyear dealer in dalton and talked with matt acklen store manager at goodyear bryman's plaza north. He was very helpful and told me the wheel was the cause of the problem not the tire. I went back to Toyota on 4/21/2000 and jesse stated it was the tire and goodyear should stand behind their product. I have gotten nowhere with either company and am very frustrated. I have spent over $70 on balance and front end alignment plus travel and time. Furthermore I'm back where I started. Both companies are stating that they have seen the problem before and that it is a defect in the other companies product. I do not know who to believe but I would like to resolve this. Is there any defects you are aware of on the goodyear wrangler gsa 31x10. 50r 15lt? or on the Toyota Tacoma prerunner trd package 15 inch rim? ( dot number: tire size: 31x10. 50r ).

No summary.
At speeds over 45, front end vibrates badly and is hard to control. I have replaced the tires which worked until the tires had 5000 miles of them, balanced tires, and had front end alignments. The Toyota dealership is aware of the problem, but cannot come up with a solution to correct the problem. I know of other Tacoma owners with similar problems. ( dot number: tire size: 31x10. 5 15 ).

The vehicle has bad alignment and shimmies at 60mph. This has caused the tires to be ruined.
I've had problems with a few other things as well, and Toyota has been unwilling to help. Also, I haven't ever received any update or recall info from Toyota, sense I have owned it. ( dot number: tire size: 33 12 50 ).
