The contact owns a 2005 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph, the front passenger's side tire blew. As a result, the contact crashed into several trees. The air bags failed to deploy and the seat belt failed to properly restrain the contact. The contact was transported to the hospital where he received treatment for several injuries including injuries to the neck and vertebrae, a partial collapsed lung, rotator cuff injuries to the right shoulder, and tears to the biceps. A police report was filed of the incident. The vehicle was towed to a body shop and declared destroyed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure and current mileage was 180,000.
Driving on 81 n (mile marker 160) in PA at 7:10 am when front passenger tire blows out. This caused me to swerve across both lanes come back hit the guard rail. Truck flips over onto guard rail, slides for a ways on guard rail, then rolls over as it descends a hill. The blowout was in my lane (gauge in pavement) without any object in the road. Tire lost pressure instantaneously. Both tow driver & insurance adjuster pointed out tire as cause of accident. The tire was a michelin ltx m/s2 with 33000 miles on it, but it had a 70000 mile warranty. Shape & direction of tear in tire is in the opposite direction of the tire rotation, so I take this as additional evidence that I didn't run over an object in the road.
Driving at highway speed on a bridge, the tire blew out, causing the truck to spin around 180 degrees. The truck was able to be driven on the rim to an area where the tire could be changed. Inspection of all four tires showed no excessive tread wear and no items lodged in the tire which would cause a flat. We are still deciding whether to replace all four tires or not. Tire is dueller h/t 689.

Right rear tire blew out while traveling on interstate highway. No puncture was identified in tire tread. Bridgestone dueler h/l alenza p275/55r20. 2007 Toyota Tundra crew max 7,900 miles.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tundra. The vehicle has bridgestone/firestone dueler a/t 693 tires, size pt27555r20 (na). While driving approximately 70 mph, the rear driver's side tire blew out. There were no injuries. The contact consulted the tire dealer and was informed that the tire was no longer available. They replaced the tire with a different one at the contact's expense. The vehicle dealer would not replace the tire because it was not covered under warranty. The manufacturer stated that if he purchased another vehicle from them, they would give him $700 off the price. The contact refused their offer, and just wanted the tires replaced. The manufacturer refused. The contact stated that because the tire was blown to shreds at the time of the failure, the dot number was unavailable. The current mileage was approximately 20,000 and failure mileage was approximately 4,000.
Below you will read my complaint to michelin about the quality. The sidewall blew completely off the rim while traveling at a legal speed of 70 mph. This should not happen with a premium tire made by the above company. It only had a puncture which caused it to lose air. This was verified by the dealer of discount tire in santa fe. He did tell me that now tires fail immediately when they lose pressure and blow apart. This should not happen! you should at least be able to slow the car down to examine the tire. With this happening, they are exempt from replacing the tire as a failure and get away with selling you a new tire pro rated!! how convenient!! these tires will kill someone if they haven't already. See below my response to michelin and discount tire. It had half it's tread left!!
ok. . . . . . . . . . . . . So I am under the 6 year limit and the tire did have a puncture as told to me by the selling manager. The fact that the tire blew apart signifies to me that it was a defective tire. I have had many flats in my 66 years and never saw a tire come apart like this one. By the way, it was in a matter of seconds. I have attached photos of the tire for you to see and I will contact the dealer to see what he has to say. I can tell you this. . . . . . . . . . . . . . If this is the best explanation you have for a premium tire, I will not put another set of you tires on any of my vehicles. I will also do my best to inform the general public of your policies. I would expect more from a company that I have had a long standing relationship. Too bad. . . . . . . . . . . I see it as a sign of the times!!.

2006 Toyota Tundra rear tire blewout. ****** bridgetown dueler h/t 840.
This v-8 powered four-wheel-drive vehicle has p265/16 dunlop tires which are only inflated to only 26 p. S. I. On the front axle. I complained to the dealership that I thought they had put the wrong tire inflation sticker on my truck (the sticker states the pressure for p245/16 tires). Living in hot florida and riding around on tires that are half-flat has me really concerned about a blow-out due to an underinflated, hot tire. The reason Toyota has recommended such a low tire pressure is because they are having vibration problems with this truck - when the tire pressure is raised to the proper (tire manufacturers recommended inflation of 35 p. S. I. ), they vehicle vibrates like crazy at highway speeds. No amount of balancing or replacement has solved the problem - Toyota's answer is a dangerous lowering of the tire pressure to a ridiculous 26p. S. I. On a v-8 full-sized pick-up with a heavy four-wheel-drive driveline. Also, the tire information sticker placed on the vehicle doesn't even have the inflation recommendation for the tires on the vehicle. I'm afraid of a serious accident due to a tire blow-out.
