1 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2022 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 03/01/2024

Tire tread is cracking and breaking away in small chunks. The tires are oem (Toyota Tundra 22') bridgestone dueler h/t 265/70r18 model 685 with manufacture date of 1022. I do not feel safe driving on these tires due to tread rubber breaking away even in the middle of the tire. All four tires show cracks but both rear tires are worse of the four. I have had regular service and tire rotation by Toyota dealership but they did not notify me of the issue. The truck has 17k on it and tires have plenty of tread depth. Location of truck is in the southwest and not is used in cold environment.

3 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2003 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 05/03/2007

Tire failure: Toyota Tundra 2003 equipped with dunlop grand trek p265/70r16 tires: the tires developed 5" long cracks between the treads parallel with the treads on the wear surface. The tires were the original equipped tires on the vehicle from the manufacturer. The vehicle was manufactured in 08/03. Mileage of the vehicle was 8,126 miles. The vehicle was noncommercial, light duty work and has been parked in a closed location-garage. There was no evidence of weather checking on the tires and the tread depth was near new. There has been no off road use of the vehicle. There has been very limited towing use of less than 1,500 lbs of total towed weight. The tread separation occurred on the right front tire.

4 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2004 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 04/21/2004

Hi, I have (5) original equipment bf goodrich rugged trail,(p265/70r16), radial tires on my 2002 Toyota Tundra pickup truck that have 6,700 miles on them. At approximately 4,500 miles the tires started developeing cracks between the tread of each tire and only got considerably worse with passing time and miles. I contacted bf goodrich which told me to take the vehicle for inspection to a dealer that told me it would cost me almost $200 dollars to have the tires replaced and the other dealer said it would cost well over two hundred dollars for replacement. This second dealer told me I should not have to operate my vehicle with the current and deteriorating condition of these tires. I called bf goodrich back with the results of my dealer inspections, and basically they said what the delaler says, stands. These tires were obviously defective from the bf goodrich factory and I feel that it is only a matter of time before one fails, and blows out while I am traveling down the highway. I do not want to have another firestone atx situation affecting my safety or my passengers safety. I also believe that there are several other owners of these tires that may be subjected to the same tire failure risks that I am under. Thanks in advance, john m. Melnick.

6 Tire Tread/belt problem of the 2003 Toyota Tundra

Failure Date: 10/20/2003

My 2003 Toyota Tundra (2 wheel drive/v8) has uneven tire wear. Needs tire replacement at 16,000 miles. Mechanics tell me it's a shock or frame problem. Toyota denies their responsibility, says it's the tires and/or I drive too hard.
