Car was illegally repossessed (I own the vehicle but used it as collateral in a small loan) November 29, 2016 while I was in another state. I then received a email from carfax that the odometer was changed and gave me the new mileage. I purchased the car in March of 2015 and the mileage was over 155,000 miles but now it reports 124, 685 miles which is not an error but intentional and obvious odometer fraud! I have attached several photos showing the dealership website's log of mileage when I bought it, the picture of my odometer as of October 2015 (when it was no longer able to drive due to oil leak from valve cover), and the email screenshot from carfax showing the odometer fraud. The new owners of the vehicle are peter landry of for financial in donaldsonville, louisiana 225 473 7652.

2008 Volkswagen Beetle. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle air filter leakage and engine hydraulic hose issues. The consumer stated the check engine light illuminated and it got to the point, where it started flashing. An associate at an auto parts store, informed the consumer, if the air filter did not work, there was a possibility the hydraulic hose to the line of the engine could break and cause oil to clog the engine.

Oil leaking and vacuum pump needed replaced with less than 60,000 miles on it. From online research this appears to be a common issue with 5 cyl Volkswagens. I contacted Volkswagen of America and was informed that there was not a recall on this part.

2006 Volkswagen Beetle. Consumer writes in regards to unsatisfactory customer service at dealership and electronic stabilization program failure. The consumer stated a red and blue light illuminated on the dash while driving. The vehicle then broke down, and had to be towed to a local garage. According to the manual, the red and blue light meant there was a problem with the electronic stabilization program or anti-slip regulation. When the consumer went to pick up the vehicle, she was informed the oil pan and gasket and shocks were leaking and worn as well as the ball joints.
The contact owns a 2001 Volkswagen Beetle. The contact stated that the drain plug in the oil pan leaks oil. The failure occurred because the plug is hard steel and the pan that holds the oil is aluminum. If the technician tightens the nuts too tightly on the drain pan, all of the oil will leak out. The dealer performed a temporary repair, but it did not work. They had to replace the entire oil pan and plug at the cost of $360. 78; the failure mileage was 76,049. Updated 11-19-08 updated 11/20/08.
A hole developed in the oil pan, causing oil to leak which resulted in vehicle stalling. Dealer & manufacturer have been notified.
