Volkswagen CC owners have reported 16 problems related to front driver side air bag inflator (under the air bag category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Takata inflators. I went and got my fuel pump recall completed months ago and my local dealer didn't have the parts to complete the airbag recall. They said it takes about a month or two to receive the part and it has been much longer than that and they still aren't able to complete the recall on my vehicle. My airbag light has recently come on and I saw that there is also a recall for a clock spring. I got my car checked by a mechanic and was told I would need a clock spring replacement. I notified Volkswagen of this and was told my car was not apart of the recall but how can that be when the effected models are Volkswagen Cc 2011-2014. They are refusing to make repairs on my vehicle. I am 8 months pregnant and feel very unsafe on my commute to and from work. My local dealer is unreliable as they are never able to complete repairs. When the airbag light came on, I was turning into a restaurant and heard a clicking sound and the light came on. My horn no longer works nor do the buttons on my steering wheel.

Takata recall - there are 3 recalls on my type of car. I have experience one of the serious symptoms of the recall. Please read all. Driver frontal airbag inflator could potentially rupture (due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute high humidity and temperature cycling). 2nd vehicle has had interruption of electrical power, which caused a drained battery and no start condition. [ on certain vehicles, there could be an interruption in electrical power to the fuel pump control module. This could result in the fuel pump running continuously, resulting in a drained battery and/or a no start condition, or cause a loss of motive power while the vehicle is in motion]3. Air or other fibers may contaminate the airbag clock spring (a spiral wound, flat cable that keeps the airbag powered while the steering wheel is being turned). This contamination may tear the cable and result in a loss of electrical connection to the driver's frontal airbag.

Takata inflators: dealer replaced the airbags due to recall but the service light came on after replacement and dealer made excuses when I took it in for inspection sticker. The driver seat belt sensor doesn't stop beeping. The trunk latch doesn't work and dealer can't figure out why the suspension has cracking sounds. Also had a fuel leak which they did fix. Not happy with my vw.
Takata inflators. . . Can you or someone please give me some information as to when I can look forward to having my vehicle fixed and not a potential death trap. With deer season here its really quite scary.

Takata recall : soon after I purchased my used 2012 vw Cc , the problems started : airbag light turned on , at the same time horn became inoperative and steering wheel controls became disabled. Nhtsa recall # 16v078, NHTSA campaign number: 16v078000 , manufacture's recall # 69m9, recall date 02. 09. 2016. Recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available ! the second recall is : tires - pressure monitoring and regulating systems ( tpm ). Flate tire image on and off every day a lot of times per day, despite the tire pressure is ok. Defective airbag ( inflator ) along with defective tpm are both major safety issues and in need to fix it ASAP free of charge. Volkswagen of kearny mesa san diego offered to fix the airbag at high price ! driving with those problems is dangerous ! I did not write directly to Volkswagen of America, but I am going to do it ! thank you.
"takata inflators" - I received a letter in April of 2016 stating that my car is subject to the takata airbag recall. The letter stated that "a recall repair is not yet available. " it is now September and I have still received no indication as to when the parts will be available nor when the repair will be made. I have called vw finance and they told me to call vw corporate. I called vw corporate and they told me that they do not have a timeline as to when the parts will be in. As far as I am concerned this is unacceptable. The letter from vw states verbatim: "takata has reported that the driver frontal airbag inflator could potentially rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the frontal airbags are designed to deploy. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants. " I am concerned for my safety driving in this vehicle!!! I have contacted the dealership and their response "remember, there are 60 million cars to be repaired worldwide. Tropical climate areas will be fixed first. Repairs will go south to north for customers, then south to north for dealers. Due to the climate in the northeast the conditions don't match the weather that is the problem. It is, apparently, a combination on heat and humidity. Vw did not make the airbags. There are (3) companies in the world making the replacements. That is all the info I have, for now. " unacceptable!!!!!!! Volkswagen will find the parts when someone gets injured or killed!! this is a travesty!!.

My vehicle has a recall for the airbag which is very important in case of an accident I took my car to volkswagon and they said they put a cover over the clock spring and the recall states that if the airbag light is not on yet they are to just put a cover over it to reduce the amount of dirt and dust that gets in there if your airbag light is no which my is correct still they are to replace the whole clockspring which they did not that is why my car is still telling me theregarding is a malfunction obviously so I took my car back to volkswagon they said there's nothing they can do I would have to pay for a diagnosis test for $100 which makes no sense because it's their recall not mine why do I have to pay when it's cleary a recall in which if they just replaced it it would most likely fix it start date 02-09-2016 description takata has reported that the driver frontal airbag inflator could potentially rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the frontal airbags are designed to deploy. In the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants. Takata inflators.
Takata recall. It has been 8 months since vw announced the recall, but they have yet to provide a remedy to solve the problem. All the while I remain driving a vehicle with a defective airbag inflator. No timely resolution to this problem so I am not sure if they are unable to or unwilling to repair the issue. 8 months seems like more than enough time to at least determine the repair.
Takata inflators. The recall date was Feb 9, 2016. It is Nov 4, 2016 and the remedy is still not available. The recall is not being handled in a timely manner putting the driver (my son) at risk. According to the video at the NHTSA website on the topic, it states hot and humid climates increase the risk of malfunction. We live in nc, a hot and humid climate.
Takata recall - letter states: in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the airbag cushion material, which may result in serious injury or death to vehicle occupants.
Takata inflators: I was notified of this recall almost one year ago, yet my dealer still does not have the parts. Watching a report yesterday I learned that the vehicles most vulnerable are those 6 years old and kept in a hot humid climate. My car meets both of these criteria. I am uncomfortable driving this vehicle.
