The clockspring on my vehicle is out. I know this has been a major issue and recalls with my make and model of cars (volkswagens). It is not fair that all models and makes are not included in the clockspring recall. This is a major safety issue with the airbag and horn not working.
My cruise control unit will not engage. And I have (6) six warning lamps showing every time I operate the car. With these lamps showing on the info system screen, the cruise control will not engage! I asked the dealership about it. And was told that the wheel bearing unit has moved away from where it is bolted on. And now it is touching the air bag control module. That's why I've got six lamps showing up on the center info screen, every time I operate the car. And on another incident. I was traveling on the interstate and their was some water that had collected in a dip between hills. And when I traveled through it, the force of the water flowing into the engine department, knocked the cruise control off. Disengaged it. I'm am available for inspection of said vehicle. Oh yes, this happened once before, but all of a sudden all the warnings lamps turned off. But I'm not so lucky now. It doesn't seem to affect the air bags any, but I could be wrong! the dealer explained what has happened within the components of my problem. But, since I wasn't forth coming to pay them to check or repair it, nothing got done. And it has been going on for about 6 - 8 months.

Clock spring broke, now no airbag and nothing on the steering panel works including the horn and airbag. First I was told by the dealship that it was a California car so they would fix it, today I was told they would not. So we are driving a car with no airbag. They want $700 to replace this part with a long waiting period.

The clock spring on this vehicle is defective. Airbag light is on, all steering wheel buttons/controls no longer work and the horn no longer works. Online research shows this to be a known issue for this model year and beyond. Additionally, there was a recall for this exact problem for the previous model year. Further research found the following NHTSA document https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/tsbs/2018/mc-10149942-9999. Pdf as a limited warranty extension that includes this model year. However, dealer service and Volkswagen customer service have no knowledge of this limited warranty update and or that this vehicle VIN is not included. This has now made this vehicle unsafe to drive without working air bags.
The contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated. Additionally, the horn was inoperable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who informed the contact that no fault codes were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 79,652.

The clock spring in the steering wheel broke causing the airbag light to come on, the audio controls on the steering wheel to stop working and a noise coming out of the wheel when I turn it. The failure has been confirmed by a mechanic. There were no symptoms of the issue prior to failure.
Airbag non deployment after 2 service recalls. I don’t feel safe driving my children around in a car that is not equipped for safety. Fuel pump control module is not working probably even after service recall. Engine malfunctioning.
The airbag light went off in the instrument cluster. I hear what sounds like a disconnected cable rubbing against the steering wheel whenever I try to make a turn. All buttons in the steering wheel are non functional after the incident. Really concerned if the airbag won’t deploy and cause fatal or deadly injuries in case of crash. I don’t feel safe driving it in this condition.
Clock spring went out so airbag and horn do not work.
The contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated while driving approximately 40 mph, the air bag warning light illuminated, and all the buttons on the steering wheel became inoperable. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact to take the vehicle to a dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 151,000.

My airbag light is on once again and I have only had the recall replaced once never had the second so some shop has scammed that they replaced it. I need it fixed.
My 2016 vw Cc (VIN: [xxx]) has a clock spring failure. I brought my car in to riverhead bay motors on 2/12/2019, with the hope of diagnosing and fixing the part. They had to order the part, so only diagnosis was done. Diagnosis confirmed that the clock spring (in vw’s own words from the bill): “upon further diag found clock spring defective”). I was told in conversations prior to bringing the car in, with corporate, if they identified a torn clock spring as the cause, a case manager would look into and consider if my car perhaps had a faulty part and the fix could be covered by Volkswagen. After many days spent waiting for the opportunity to speak to a supervisor, I finally was able to on 2/15/2019. Volkswagen is refusing to acknowledge that my clock spring issue is the same as what prompted: both a recall, and an extended warranty, and is peer to of an active investigation—escalated to an engineering analysis--by the NHTSA (ea18-003). They are insisting I pay out of my own pocket to replace their defective product. Since the supervisor was unwilling to give any info on who made the part and whether the relation was causal, I spent some time this weekend using the NHTSA as a transparent resource. What I have found is that the faulty part in my car is the same one that was involved in a previous recall, and the same one involved in a voluntary extended warranty—although my VIN is not part of either action. Much of my own research has involved the review of the many piecemeal responses to NHTSA inquiry ea18-003. The component which failed is part number: 5k0-953-569 as. The part is supplied by valeo (otherwise referred to as valeo robust), and appearing to be in the class cw50/2012---for the vw Cc model years 2012-2016 (see below, table one: clock spring part identifier). According to confirmation with michelle stokes at riverhead bay motors on 2/18/2019—part 5k0-953-569 as is the only clock spring that is available to my car information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6.
The power steering keeps failing while driving. It is available for inspection, ASAP. This is a very dangerous hazard to lose the ability to steer the vehicle at any speed. I have not taken to my mechanic, yet. I have read all sorts of problems with steering since the takata air bag replacement recall. Ever since the airbag replacement, many of my warning lights have been illuminated. The dealer told me it is due to the sensors on my tires. I see they were previously recalled and now I have a problem with them, too. Right before the steering fails, I hear a gone and the red steering wheel light illuminates. I am then forced to slowly get off the road, barely able to turn the wheel, turn off the vehicle and re-start the engine to get the power steering to re-set itself. It is happening more and more often. Just went to doctor appt Friday and it happened five (5) times going to and from doctor (14 mile round trip). I see dealers are telling people it is a clock spring and they are charing up to $ 6,800. To repair. My car only has 56,000. Miles on it !!!.

In addition, the cruise control was inoperable. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v483000 (air bags). The clock spring has failed on my Cc causing all airbags to be disabled. Volkswagen refuses to fix this as a safety issue. I'm filing this in the event that something happens I will have full recourse against them for negligence over profit.
I purchased my Volkswagen Cc in 2019. It hasn't been officially 4 years of owning the vehicle, and the clock spring or air bag light comes on in which it seems every 1. 5 years. It costs over $800 to repair, and the first repair was replaced by certified vw oem parts. I can't get an inspection and pass because the horn will not work. My safety is put at risk as I can't warn other drivers who aren't paying attention that I am close by. I actually ended up getting a ticket for switching lanes so fast due to getting out of the way of a vehicle on the interstate who almost ran into me. There is no warning when this happens, it just decides to stop at any given time. This page will not allow me to upload the other scanned diagnosis that was repaired from 2020. Please advise.
My vehicle was stationary and turned off. I went to get in the car start it and leave however when I tried to start the car it immediately started to ding over and over with the a message "error: driver airbag". It also would not let the car start. I had the battery tested its fine and the starter isn't even 6 months old nor the alternator. All the electronics in the car turn on lights, radio, windows up and down, etc. It says to start put my foot on the brake as well which I obviously did and it still says the same error message. It happened 2 times 1st on 12/31/2019 but then started out of nowhere and worked fine for a few days and then happened again 1/04/20, however this time the problem persists.

Driving the car (which was purchased 6 months ago from our local Honda dealership) honked the horn on the car coming home from picking up the kids from school. Driving through local streets and all of a sudden the air bag sign came on. Now when I turn car on it states airbag defect and none of the controls work on the steering wheel. The car is my wife's car and she drive my two little boys in it daily. The airbag defect warning is concerning especially reading other owner's complaints in regards to this issues.
I took my car to gunther Volkswagen of fort lauderdale 1660 s state rd 7, fort lauderdale, FL 33317 (954) 420-7374. They refused to change the takata airbag I was told that they could not connect their equipment . I was told that I need to pay for them to do diagnostics on my car. They wouldn't even check the problem without paying. I told them that I could not afford any repairs and this was a recall. They would not even look at my car without paying. So I have been driving with the same airbag. I cannot afford these repairs so there's nothing I can do about this airbag situation. I already called the Volkswagen of America and they are no help. If anything can be done I would greatly appreciated it.
Takata recall vw has no part--they have no timeline for the part--the are refusing a loaner until they have the part (which makes no sense). They refuse to comment on whether the car should be driven. I should not have to choose between my family's safety and spending more money--they need to provide a loaner!.
Takata recall. Vw will not replace the recalled airbag. I do not feel safe driving my car. I called many times and get many notices in the mail to get it replace. Upon calling they (vw of ontario, san bernardino and moreno valley including the corporate line. That there are no airbags and the manufacture went out of business.
Tl the contact owns a 2010 Volkswagen Cc. While driving approximately 25 mph, the vehicle shut off without warning. The vehicle was restarted, but the failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the fuel system failed and code number: p2293 was located. The dealer also informed the contact of two open recalls: NHTSA campaign numbers: 17v509000 (fuel system, gasoline) and 18v148000 (air bags). The contact stated that the manufacturer did not notify him about the recalls. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and promised to call the contact back. The contact was not called back. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 125,000.
Takata recali I asked boardwalk Volkswagen(1 bair island rd, redwood city, CA 94063) to help me to address takata recall. However, they just say they do not have related parts, and do not response me again. It seems that they won't help to address the takata recall, which is a very severe recall. I feel very disappointed about their responses.
Takata recall. I took my Cc for recall on the airbag in vw dealer in countryside, IL. The replace the airbag and give me the car back with airbag error on the dashboard. After that they service department told me that I need to call for appointment come back when is available, pay them $140 for diagnostic and then they can tell me what is wrong with my airbag. They want me to drive my car with out airbag.
Tl-the contact owns 2012 Volkswagen Cc sport. The contact stated that the horn was not working because the clock spring was malfunctioning. The vehicle was taken into the dealer charles maund Volkswagen 6900 burnet rd, austin, TX 78757 (512) 458-1111 for a NHTSA recall repair for the clock spring. The issue recurred within a few days and the contact called the dealer again and they wanted to charge the contact $1,000. The contact called the manufacturer and they said to go back to the dealer and reset the clock spring. A service tech from the dealer told the contact that the clock spring's were designed badly but both the dealer and the manufacturer did not want to pay for a new part. This issue had gone on for 8 to 9 months. The contact called the dealer last week recently and still had not called back. The failure mileage was 88,000 tf.
Front end crash with significant damage to front bumper center. No airbag deployment in vehicle but smell of airbag propellant.
Steering wheel clock spring broke. No horn or function buttons working along with the airbag.
Takata recall on November 11, 2017, I took my car to tony Volkswagen in waipahu, hawaii to replace the takata air bags. It took one whole year for their service department to get the part and get back to me. Terrible service. On August 3rd, 2018, I received a takata recall again saying it was not replaced. The name of the service advisor was 51448 aaron chan from tony Volkswagen in waipahu hawaii. This is my complaint. It was never replaced in the first place. Unethical and fraudulent!!! I could have gotten into an accident all this time thinking it was fixed.
I can only say that the car has many problems that I can lose my life and I do not have answers from the manufacturer, I only have to demand them.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 Volkswagen Cc. The contact stated that the manufacturer was unable to provide the part for NHTSA campaign number: 18v148000 (air bags) to the dealer within a reasonable time frame. David maus Volkswagen south (5474 s orange blossom trail, orlando, FL 32839, (407) 412-9080) scheduled an appointment a week ago. Once the contact arrived at the dealer, he was informed that the part was unavailable. The manufacturer was contacted and was unable to provide a reasonable timeframe to provide the part for the recall repair. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
Takata recall, I have been waiting for the part since July 2018. This is a safety recall and currently I am taking a major risk by driving my vehicle which I need to get back and forth to work. I am extremely anxious and upset as the dealership has been unable to provide me with any information as to when the part will be available.
Takata recall multiple appoint requests since June 2018 in houston area namely: archer Volkswagen , 10400 southwest fwy, houston, TX 77074 west houston Volkswagen, 17113 katy fwy, houston, TX 77094.
My vehicle had 2 recall not resolved with Volkswagen. One of them is 20ae fuel pump module recall, which could potentially caused loss of motive power while in motion. I had this symptoms 5 times in a week, when I drive on the street the car just stalled. Volkswagen's dealer told me the repair is unavailable. They have no estimation how long I need to wait before the repair parts available. I definitely don't want to take the risk to continue driving my car. But alternate transportation in not provided by Volkswagen.
