However, the dealer reseted computer and the failure was not correct. The vehicle continued to stall when the engine was warmed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacture was contacted. Engine stalls when coming to a stop specifically in warmer weather, the car can be in first or neutral when it stalls. It feels like the 'auto stop' feature in some automatic cars. My model is a manual. The speedometer says anywhere from 0-8 mph when it looses power. It is very subtle and at first, I didn't even notice until I started to accelerate at a green light. I have a 15 mile commute. The first 10 miles consist of some city driving to get to the highway--no problems there. After getting off the highway, every stop I made (approximately 10), the car stalled. It does immediately restart with the start button.

The engine will frequently stall when I come to a complete stop, requiring me to shift the car into park, restart the car, and then put it back into gear. I have the dsg transmission and this issue has occurred both with the auto start/stop on and with it off. I sometimes don't realize the engine has stalled until I have to start moving again, at a red light for instance, which creates a dangerous situation.

When I am slowing down to a stop and I have the car out of gear, the engine will soft stall and require restarting. This happens in traffic and is very disorienting.

During street and highway driving, the engine stalls after the vehicle is brought to a complete stop with clutch depressed and/or transmission in neutral. Occurs with engine at operating temperature irrespective of initial speed or engaged gear prior to commencement of braking and deceleration. Immediately prior to the stall, the engine runs rough or seems to be misfiring for one or two seconds. Once the first event occurs, it will then repeat 25-50% of the time the vehicle is decelerated to a stop.

I purchased this car with only 600 miles on it and have had it for 3 days. It is a 6 speed manual transmission and not the first manual I have ever had. When coming to a stop, if the clutch is engaged fully, the car will soft stall leaving me to have to restart the car to get moving. The stall is so subtle that every time it has happened I didn't realize it until I pressed the gas and the car did nothing. This is a very dangerous problem that vw is failing to recognize. For example, it happened while I was slowing down in the turning lane to take a left turn across traffic. With the clutch fully depressed I downshifted to first gear and began to turn across the oncoming lane. As I began to apply throttle and release the clutch I noticed the car had stalled and was forced to restart the car. This all happened while I was sitting in the oncoming lane of traffic which could have easily caused an accident if there had been cars coming. At first I thought that it was my doing so I spent some time trying to recreate the issue. About 1 in every 5 stops with the clutch fully engaged, whether in gear or in neutral, the car will stall when it comes to a stop. This is not normal behavior or due to inexperience. I have never had a manual vehicle where the engine would ever stall with the clutch fully engaged. After doing a little research online this is apparently a wide spread issue that is affecting brand new 2019 Gti's with the manual transmission. Vw is failing to acknowledge that there is a problem and this negligence will ultimately lead to an accident that could cost somebody their life. Something needs to be done!.

Vehicle was purchased on 5/27/19. Vehicle has just over 1000 miles. Issue first started day after the purchase. The vehicle's engine will intermittently stall after coming to a stop. The nature of the stall is subtle, not jerky. Almost like a auto start/stop feature on a vehicle with an auto transmission (my Gti has a 6-speed manual). This has happened 10 times now. Ive had it happen with the clutch pedal pressed (clutch disengaged) and the vehicle gear shifter in neutral and also in gear. Ive also had it happen with the clutch pedal not pressed (clutch engaged) and the gear shifter in neutral. Car restarts fine, but this is definitely a safety issue that can lead to accidents.

The issue presents itself slowing down to a stop, where the engine will soft stall and require restarting. This occurs when the transmission is in gear with the clutch depressed and also when the the transmission is in neutral.

When I roll to a stop in neutral, the car has stalled. Today was the first time it stalled while being in 1st gear with the clutch all the way down and coming to a stop. Once I am completely stopped, the engine stalls. There is no shuttering, the engine just turns off.

Upon coming to a complete stop with the clutch firmly and completely pressed, the engine then stalls. This occurs only after driving on regular streets stop and go for approximately 20 minutes. It will then stall at complete stops infrequently and it occurs probably about 5 times every 15 minutes. This has happened every time I have driven the car since I picked it up brand new on 5/11/19. It is now back in the shop for them to fix it for a second time.

Engine stalls at low speeds with the clutch in (urano grey 6-speed manual). Sometimes the engine dies quick and clean, sometimes sputters/flutters and then dies. Car needs to be restated in traffic - dangerous! happens pretty rarely, but happened 4 times within city-ish 50 miles, so certainly a concern! new car has less than 400 miles on it.

2019 Gti rabbit edition, 6m, urano grey. I have expierincing frequent engine stalls coming up to a stop, clutch all the way depressed, in my 2,000 miles since buying new in Feb. Seems like it could be a safety issue if happens in middle of busy intersection. The stalls now are happening more frequent. Hope this problem gets sorted soon by vw. There are many complaints about this already filed with NHTSA as well as the vw Gti forums. (golfmk7. Com) it seems by reading other same complaints, always happens while coming to a stop and with the 6 speed manuals. (clutch always fully depressed).

While driving at low speed the engine will stall.

The first time was a couple weeks ago when the engine stalled out as I was pulling up to a stop sign in 2nd gear with the clutch depressed. I was able to start the engine back up and continue operating afterwards. The second time was just last Thursday when the engine stalled as I was pulling into a parking spot, again with the clutch depressed.

Power steering turns stick randomly at any speed, requiring me to turn off the engine and restart only to get the steering back to normal. Very scary as more effort has to be input I to the steering for it to work. Engine stalls and cuts out randomly especially on idle. Has caused several issues when driving.

Engine will stall and die within 5-20 seconds after starting. Happens on a warm engine after it sits for 45-60 minutes. Happened multiple times, each after engine has reached operating temperature. This is potentially a deadly problem if the car dies on a street, as it won't steer or have propulsion! had it seen at vw dealer: they suspect it is the "in-tank fuel pump" but this part is not covered under drivetrain warranty? I called vw customer service but they said they can't help on this $834 repair. I'm perplexed how a fuel pump goes bad on a 2011 with only 45k miles, and that a vital component that will make the car stall & die is not covered under drivetrain warranty. This is a potentially deadly problem if it dies suddenly and cars following cannot swerve around. Very disappointed. This will be my last vw, ever. If you own a vw with 2. 0 tsi you should look into this.

When the engine is restarted after it has been stopped, but before it has fully cooled down, the engine often stalls directly after an engine start.

The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer three times where the dealer confirmed that the ignition coil needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 36,600 and the current mileage was 47,000.
