Adaptive Equipment Problems of Volkswagen Jetta

Vw 2010 tdi - radio dead. Completely went black, unresponsive. Discovered wrong fuse in line with radio - 15a when it should have been 10a according to spec. This over time caused the radio to fry. Vw of a doesn't care about this issue and gives the standard reply that it is not under warranty. A 5 year old vehilce, with 100k miles - the radio should not be failing at this age, further, this is a 1000+$ fix. Ridiculous.

I went to drive to work and turned on my car. No radio. Nothing. No power to it. Absolutely nothing. No bluetooth for safe and hands free driving, nothing. Can't get it fixed for less than $1000. Nothing to explain what causes it. No blown fuses no anything. No explanation whatsoever.

For this year of Jetta the doors lock around 10 miles an hour. Mine does not lock. The doors will keep attempting to lock with no success. If you go on a long trip and slow down to the 10 mph range they will try to lock again. The door also does not lock when you push button. You must keep pressing it until it finally locks.

The touchscreen radio (model rcd-510, manufactured by delphi and utilized in various 2010-2011 model vws) had failed completely. It is acting as if no power is going to the unit. All fuses were checked and they are functional. All bluetooth and hands-free capabilities, which were built into the stereo system, no longer function. Any use of a phone while driving requires the use of hands, which is illegal in many states throughout the us. Otherwise, pulling off of the road to place/receive phone calls puts the driver at increased risk of being struck.

I purchased a 2012 Volkswagen in August 9, 2012. One week later after purchase, the car stopped in the middle of driving with no warning. I called hertz car sales where I purchased the car and to no avail the problem did not get resolved. I then noticed that the horn works at time and then doesn't work. I really shouldn't have to explain what a safety hazard the car can be if you can't alert another driver with your horn. I then did some research and found out that Volkswagen did a recall for the 2011 model but did not include the 2012 model which is obvious that the same problem exist. I called Volkswagen and found out that my car was manufactured 2/2012. If the same part was used in my car which is showing the exact same malfunctioned parts that were recalled in 2011. It is more than likely that the earlier 2012 models had the same problem as the 2011 problem. I used this car to get myself and my son back and forth to dr. 's appointments, school and other daily errands. I consider the car to be a hazard with the horn malfunctioning and the car stopping I the middle of driving.

Radio, cd changer, bluetooth inoperable. The screen has become black. There is an occasional electrical thump sound coming through the speakers. Concerned there is an electrical short of some kind. Have read of many other similar instances with the same make, model and year car as mine. Help!.

I got in to my car after work on Saturday I turned on the car and no radio. I checked the fuses and they were fine. Yes, there wasn't one in the plug (18) but I put one in there to see if that would work for me and it did not. Then my windshield wipers were not working either. I turned the car off and back on and the wipers started working. It's rainy season here. So I hope they continue to work. . Jetta has odor when ac is turned on. Service department indicates the circulatory (c) must be used at all times. Does not correct issue . First time service department tco'd. 2nd time back to shop, they wanted 150. 00 to repair after 3 months. This is a serious defect. Problem is actually caused by air condensor fluid pooling in valve instead of evaporating. Poor engineering. Causes light head must open windows for fresh air. People with parkinson's and sensitive nervous systems should avoid this car.

On the afternoon of April 30th, 2014 while the vehicle was ideal at a stop light the vehicles power steering and a/c gave out. After inspecting the engine, it was determined the belt tenstoner broke due to a faulty bolt that should've secured this part. This incident happen 6 days after taking it to a local authorized Volkswagen service dealership . As a consumer and driver I feel a formal safety investigation must take place because a part such as this snapping off endangers my life and the life of the general public. This should become a major concern because Volkswagen negligence to detail puts all drivers at risk of major injury and or death.

The windows, gas door, mirrors, trunk no longer work because of a faulty wiring harness that vw has acknowledged. They are only fixing vehicles with less then 100,000 miles or 8. 5 years of service. It is a safety concern because the back two windows can be rolled down by children. I have 2 small children and one with downs syndrome that keeps rolling the windows down because the wiring harness has failed and vw is not going to fix the cars and instead let small children die because they can roll down the windows. Also, everytime I have to open the gas lever I scrape my arm on some pointing screws. This is ridiculous that a recall has not been issued on the vw Jetta wiring harness.

Had the vehicle serviced at the 40,000 mile interval. Metal flakes were found in the fuel filter. I was told of your investigation of the hpfp problems that this model has been demonstrating. I would like to file this information with you in case this fuel pump fails. I understand that vw has been reluctant to honor their warranty.
