1 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2005 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 01/23/2019

The transmission is terribly made. There is also an issue with the fuel injection that does not allow the car to receive the correct fuel as well as the gas tank. The car jerks because of the gas tank and the codes read ad if the cap needs to be replaced but the whole gas tank needs to be replaced.

2 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2015 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 11/24/2017

I started to smell of gasoline in my car while driving it. Called vw group of America costumer service number who suggested I take the car to a dealer for inspection. After inspecting the car for two (2) days, the dealer, south motors vw, verbally reported the problem cause was a fuel leak at the injection system: fuel rail. Just as described in the 15v028000 recall. Vw group of America has declined my request to accept this failure as part of the reference recall under the allegation that the vehicle identification number (VIN) is not part of the recall and the vehicle has more than 36,000 miles. (actual mileage: 47,500). I understand the recall is VIN selective, but it's not out of coincidence that my car was assembled in puebla, mexico; the manufacturing year falls in the recall category and that the supplier of the defective part is benteler DE mexico in puebla, mexico.

3 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 06/30/2017

Doing 70 mph on the highway our 2009 Jetta tdi lost all power. The high injection fuel pump turned out to be the problem. Repairs will cost at least $6,000. 00 vw modified this pump 5 different times and never notified the owners about problems with the pump. The NHTSA had an investigation and concluded people were using the wrong fuel. We have 2 diesel vehicles and know which pump at the service stations are diesel. This is a serious life threatening problem, catastrophic failure and no power in you car yet the NHTSA closed their investigation. Vw will do nothing to help with repairs and the Jetta has become a total lemon. We have received several recall notices through the years, none regarding the fuel pump, and the car was taken to the dealership for the recalls each time. We would like to see something done about this serious problem.

4 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 04/13/2016

My first concern is the seat belt warning light will not stop making an alarm noise. My seat belt is plugged in, and the alarm will not stop and the dashboard views it as un plugged as well. Clearly, it was plugged in. I tried to take it out, inserting it back in slow and fast. Neither was acknowledged by the system. Am I even safe??? second, there is some sort of delay while driving. I just purchased the car in December 2015. In March 2016, the car has some sort of delay while I'm driving. Not during deceleration or acceleration. But in the 40 -50 mph range. I realize, maybe it has something to do with the turbo injection. It has started happening again sporadically a month later. . . . ??? please help with clarity on this issue. Is there fuel injection issues with tdi? okw.

5 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 03/30/2015

Vehicle engine shut off during travel, due to fuel filter being clogged by metal debris. The high pressure injection pump failed effectively ending the life of the engine. The welds on the high pressure injection pump had deteriorated, resulting metal debris to circulate through complete injection system. After multiple failed attempts to flush out the injection system it was decided that the best course of action was to replace the entire fuel system along with the fuel injector pump. The dealership would not cover the repair that was estimated to be around $5,500. Very unsatisfied.

6 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 03/06/2015

Vehicle engine shut off during travel, due to fuel filter being clogged by metal debris. The high pressure injection pump failed effectively ending the life of the engine. The welds on the high pressure injection pump had deteriorated, resulting metal debris to circulate through complete injection system. After multiple failed attempts to flush out the injection system it was decided that the best course of action was to replace the engine if a replacement could be found. A replacement was found and the current engine installed has the same high pressure injection pump, as a replacement part is not available to independent shops, only to dealerships. Cost of replacing engine - $8,500. 00.

9 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 07/11/2014

I tried starting my car and the engine would not turn over, as if it was not getting any fuel. After numerous attempts I had my car towed to commonwealth Volkswagen in santa ana , CA. They diagnosed the problem as a failed high pressure fuel pump which sent slivers of metal throughout the fuel system. The entire fuel system,(hoses pipes injection units fuel pumps, filters, etc. ) was replaced. Volkswagen paid for the entire repairs. I was told by the Volkswagen service representative that they had seen this issue before and that it was not uncommon in 2009 & 2010 Jetta tdi and other tdi models. They asked if gasoline had ever been used and I indicated that I have only used diesel fuel and that Volkswagen had retrofitted the fuel nozzle receptacle to only accept diesel fuel nozzles. It concerns me that Volkswagen knows about this problem, that they repair the vehicle at their expense, no questions asked, and it has been reported hundreds of time by Volkswagen owners on a variety of internet websites, yet Volkswagen is not recalling the vehicles to proactively fix the problem. They fix the problem one at a time as it occurs. They wait until the system fails and the consumer is put in jeopardy of being in a major, life threatening accident or stranded in a remote area. This problem has also occurred with my 2010 Volkswagen Jetta tdi in August 2014, at night, 50 miles from the nearest Volkswagen service center. I reported this incident to NHTSA as well. Volkswagen needs to take ownership of this problem by recalling all the tdi vehicles before people are killed on the highways.

10 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2010 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 05/20/2014

I was driving down the road when I accelerated hard and I predndio light of "glow plug" on the panel, the car lost power and was limited to spend two thousand rpm's coming home that was close. I did nothing that night, I followed turning on the light in the panel. The next day I turn it normal, I turned on the light . . . Then it caught me way to work again and I return to my home, I turned on and off and it caught and never turn off. Take it to the vw service center and was told that the pump has fault injection and particulate throughout the fuel system. Tell me that the repair will cost more than 4000 dollars . . . And the worst is that no warranty.

11 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2012 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 11/07/2013

Vehicle engine (jetta 2. 0 tdi) abruptly stalled and would not restart. The dealer stated that the high pressure fuel pump had failed; and had disintegrated in a fashion that the debris had contaminated the entire fuel system. Fuel tank, lines and injection system were cleaned, fuel pump and filters were replaced. However, the vehicle has still experienced intermittent stalling problems ever since this warranty repair, and the dealer has been unable to resolve after numerous attempts. The vehicle has been (and currently remains) at the dealer for 33 of the past 40 days.

12 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 10/12/2013

The contact owns a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The check engine warning indicator had not illuminated until after the failure had occurred. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer where the technician diagnosed that the high pressure fuel injection pump was fractured, which caused metal shavings to enter the fuel tank. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 98,000. The VIN was not available.

13 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 10/03/2013

Traveling at highway speeds when glow plug indicator light started flashing and engine power was immediately lost. Engine failed to hold idle and stalled while car was moving with clutch engaged. Engine was able to restart and mil light illuminated, glow plug indicator light flashed and driver information system indicated engine malfunction. Car had no acceleration and had to be towed to dealership. Vw service technician indicated fuel pump failure and showed evidence of metal filings in fuel injection system.

14 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2010 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 02/21/2013

The vehicle had driven fine all day when all of a sudden when I pulled up to a stop sign, the car died like it was running out of gas. I was in the middle of a the road at the stop sign, the car managed to start again and drive another couple hundred feet to get it off to the side of the road. Luckily I made it just past a set of rail road tracks. The car did not start again and had to be towed. The vehicle had its entire fuel injection pump system replaced along with the sensors. Mechanics have told me that the pumps should last the life of the engine.

15 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 02/09/2013

Diesel fuel pump failure which clogged fuel fitter and injection system which in turn caused engine to cut out.

16 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2009 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 05/08/2012

I was driving our 2009 vw Jetta tdi at approximately 60mph and the display flashed engine malfunction and displayed a symbol indicating glow plug problem. The engine felt sluggish so I pulled over to the side of the road. I contacted the local vw dealer and asked if I could still drive it and he told me yes and to bring the car to the dealer the following morning. I pulled back onto the highway, got up to 50mph. Then the vehicle stalled, then died completely. I was barely able to pull off side of highway. We had the car towed to dealer. The dealer inspected the car and explained that the high pressure fuel pump had failed and metal shaving and contaminants were throughout the fuel system and that the entire fuel system will need to be replaced. The car is currently at the dealer awaiting a third party inspection from the warranty company. All required vehicle services have been performed at the required intervals. The diesel fuel injection lines had recently been replaced in March 2012 by the dealer secondary to a recall by vw (v5 23j9).

17 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2004 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 06/17/2005

I own a 2004 vw Jetta tdi. Vw has a recall (vy) fo rpossible defective tandem fuel injection pumps which can result in an engine fire. The recall states cars betwen VIN 031216 to 190756 with an unmarked luk pump needs to be replaced. My cars VIN is 166408 which is below the cut off, my car also has the unmarked luk pump. According to vw my car does not need a new pump. I have tried to deal with vw but they keep telling me my car is not effected yet it meets their requirements. It sounds to me that they are not performing up to their stated recall plan.

18 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2000 Volkswagen Jetta

Failure Date: 06/07/2004

Vw Jetta tdi 1. 9 litter diesel has extremely poor fuel mileage. Advertised is to get 50 mi/gallon. I get at best 40 mi/gallon highway and as low as 25 mi/gallon mixed highway/city. Dealer avoids the issue by saying low milage is due to bad fuel, extreme cold, poor driving habits.
