I have a 2019 vw Jetta gli bought new from vw dealer. When you first start the car in the morning or after its been sitting, basically cold, it idles very rough. The whole car vibrates and shakes. After the car warms up this goes away. The ride of the car feels like there is no suspension. You feel every bump in the road. I have never gotten motion sick from a vehicle while driving. This car gives me motion sickness every time I drive it. I have had others drive the car and report the say thing. I have had passengers in the car and they can't believe how hard the ride is. I have tried all the modes eco, normal, sport and they all have a horrible ride quality. The worst thing is I was driving the car home after work and while sitting at a red light the a/c stopped blowing cold air. After coming off the red light I started smelling fuel coming from the a/c system. The a/c system was on max a/c with the recirc on, so was not on fresh air. Pulled over, opened the hood and saw fire coming from between the engine and firewall on the passenger side. I dropped the hood and the fire ball shot out the side passenger side right behind the passenger front tire. The side and under carriage of the car was on fire and is burnt up. I contacted the dealer they said to drive it in and they will take a look at it. Drive it in???? after it was on fire???.

There has been tampering done to my vehicle how do I assure safety and have it investigated and have a repair man look over the vehicle after the theft? ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.
Factory defect.
Ive had the car about two or three weeks. The key struggles to turn when in the ignition, even when I have my foot on the brake. Sometimes it turns on just fine and sometimes the key absolutely refuses to turn when in the ignition switch. Its as if im putting the wrong key in there but I only have one vw so this is for sure the right key. The car squeaks extremely loud. Its a really loud screeching sound and it only happens when I reverse. Both things only happen every one out of 10 times or so.
When vehicle reaches 30-40mph, there is a loud rattle sound on the driver side of the vehicle. Sounds as if pipes are loose under the hood or under the car. The rattle sound happens during acceleration randomly at any speed. The sound is reduced when in sport mode and does not make rattle from 0 to 30-40mph, but does make the rattle sound during acceleration. During my research I've noticed there are a ton of my same model vehicle that are having the same issue. I took the car to the dealer two weeks after my purchase to have if checked out, the mechanic brushed me off and said it was normal. My brand new car should not should like pipes are loose and rattle during acceleration. Its really embarrassing and I hope this does not cause a safety issue in the future.
2013 Jetta with 21,994 miles. Original owner. Car has been making noise from front end especially on left hand turns. Inspected and found front of car much lower than usual and both front springs broken. A broken spring can result in loss of control and road hazards to other vehicles from broken metal parts on roadway. Will have pictures next week when we replace springs and struts. Car rides so low that I can't get my hydraulic jack under it at front jack points.

Brakes are making a pulsating sound from when it was at 20000 miles , have been issues with the car from day 3 of owning it . Volkswagen refused to take the car back saying thats not a valid complaint. . Engine makes a rumbling or a grinding sound when it is at 35-40mph ! car looses tire pressure every week. When going throught even a minor pothole it feels as if the struts were rammed on the road !! insufficient lighting ! drives almost like a bull ! feels like its just dragging itself . . . . Awful to the core ! seat frame has been changed once before in 3 months 2days of owning my car and it has started to shake again but was ignored by the dealership! and all these things happen when on highway and city! car makes vibrating sounds but ignored by thw dealership.
Since day one car is shaking like a boat, when I drive it on a highway making it not stable. Brakes squeak and I see signs on the brake disk. I am with the original brakes. Car is shutting down when I park. When I switch again to drive, it is completely off from itself, key is inside and I have to turn the key off and then start the car again. Air condition is not working properly vw said they have better 8 zones air condition. I had oil lamp around 5000-6000 miles they said that the car should not have problems till 10 000 miles. I have problems accelerating, I am loosing power. I have grinding scraping noise from the transmission. Also transmission jumps when I drive, slow response. The engine is giving me lag when I am at traffic light, vibration and shaking. I make multiple calls to the dealership and Volkswagen group of America to tow and fix my car that I leased. I explain that the car is not safe. I have been involved in multiple accidents. I am not feeling safe operating this vehicle. It's been more than half year and not one problem is fixed.
The horn keep malfunctioning it works sometimes the car don't have lose power when I go up hills and smoke is coming from tail pipe.

The vehicle suspension harness system was damaged by vw roadside assistance's contracted tow company.
When I press brake on freeways , I felt like my car stopped because it wont give smooth brake ,I don't put hard and sudden brakes , it will like go front and back and will stop. My volks suspension are too bad . I am, using 2015 volks Jetta my transmission will show me all the gears from first to final , I can feel when it gets pick up. I have told my dealer but they don't care. My steering wheel always going pulling left side when ever I drive .
Both front could springs broke at 45000 miles. No recall but clearly others have the same issue. Cost to replace was just under $500 as the struts were compromised when springs broke. There was not indication of when they broke and we were lucky our mechanic caught this malfunction before it caused more damage.

I purchased my 2014 Jetta se 1. 8t. Dealer on March 24 th 2014. I was never notified of the recall . I never went back got service there however the same dealer reported this recall was performed https://static. Nhtsa. Gov/odi/rcl/2014/rcmn-14v182-3299 my concern is that I have experienced numerous issues 1 with the charcoal canister which was directly related to the fuel rail recall and cause my car to shows signs of s failing turbo while under warranty and I was told it was not covered . However this Jetta a6. Is pzve vehicle and covered up to 12 -15 years 150,000 miles the first claim I filed was not honored by vw. And I wash told I could drive my car w/o issue. Then my transmission. Fails and I am certain my fuel problem my engine like my epc light and all the above are related. But in this case the fact that I was never contacted about this recall and it does show according to their records 3 days after I drove off the lot I was later informed by former techs that it never happened which makes selfie as I never returned to that lot until 10/28/2016. So it was not done. I have been approached numerous times while driving being told that s flame existed under my vehicle while driving but I did not put it to anything now I realize and feel as though I was sold a lemon or car containing faults that were unforeseen car literally just quit after driving off mckenna lot after service dtla vw claims I may have a failing turbo error code read but never addressed until after I left w car service performed by vw pacific left me pulling off vw lot. W 1/4 filled pulling off vw lot. Then called vwcredit claims told to go to my dealer where I was told leave when I bevsn upset about my info not being in the dealership system how did they preform. The rear trailing arms of Jetta and beetle of vw is a design flaw. (NHTSA campaign number: 14v656000) china aqsiq (general administration of quality supervision, inspection and quarantine of the people’s republic of china) conducted a yearlong survey test, the experimental results have been out : the rear trailing arms of Jetta and beetle of vw is a design flaw(the recall of USA:2011-2013 Jetta vehicles manufactured March 1, 2010, to November 30, 2012, and 2012-2013 beetle vehicles manufactured March 1, 2011, to July 31, 2013. ). The main conclusions of aqsiq of china are as follows: 1. The rear trailing arms of the recall of Jetta and beetle of vw caused a deficit. Just when encountering obstacles in reversing the process, it will cause the rear trailing arms deformed. 2. The method of the recall that installing a sheet metal can’t eliminate defects. The installation of a sheet metal only enhances the resistance to deformation of the rear trailing arms, but when the morph to a certain extent, there is still the risk of breakage and loss of control of the vehicle. After breaking, the sheet metal does not necessarily alert of noise. In the case of vehicles of more than 40km / h, when the rear trailing arms fracture, the sheet metal will also break, the vehicle will not be controlled. . Read more...

Tl- the contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that the vehicle was pulling to the left. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and it was determined that the sub frame had been moved out of specifications because the contact hit a pothole. The dealer stated that this needed to be done before the alignment could be done. The contact spoke to the manufacturer and was told that the sub frame was damaged by an outside influence and would not be covered. The contact asked the contact if the front end will need alignment every time the vehicle hits a pothole and the manufacturer stated that they would because that is how the sub frame is designed. The contact felt the was a manufacturer's defect. The vehicle had not been repaired. Rl.
Tl-the contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while stopped at a gas station, the rear axle dislocated from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a dealer where it was serviced under NHTSA campaign number:14v656000 (suspension). In addition, the technician informed that the rear passenger wheel wiring harness, speed sensor, the abs traction control and the srs warning lights illuminated as a result of the rear axle dislocating from the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 25,800. Ss.
I have a 2014 gli autobahn with the paddle shifters and the sports mode option. Today I engaged the sports mode option and the vehicle's rpm were almost redlining but it will take awhile to feel the shifting on the trans. I am worried that this may be a problem to the trans on this vehicle. The second problem that I am having I believe is the suspension due to the smoothness of the vehicle is no longer their. I have not taken the vehicle to the dealership yet but will soon. Please advise if any others have complained about the same issues that I am having. Thanks.
As I was driving I started to hear a knocking noise in the from the rear of the vehicle. After about 20 mins it became worse. I pulled into a parking lot and got out to investigate, everything seemed normal. I then continued to drive around the parking lot. The knocking noise grew louder and then there was a metal breaking noise and the car dropped and the wheel was almost off the car. I looked under the car and the structual steel of the driverside rear trailling arm was snapped in half! this was out of nowhere and thank god I was not going 65mph on the highway!.
Right side drive shaft and left side drive shaft faulty. Vacuum pump leaking oil bad, and new gasket needed. Left side rear door latch also does not lock posing a threat to safety and leaving possibility for robber, vehicle damage and or bodily harm due to intruder.
Upon entering my driveway, my driver side axle trailing arm completely snapped. Car has a clean title, bought it from a dealer used with 9k miles on it. I just found out about the global recall and contacted vw directly, the incident and campaign are so new they don't have everything in place to respond. My feeling is there is a manufacturer defect in the metal used & I find it absurd that anyone would have to wait for a side or rear collision to get this part inspected/replaced. I think any client of vw that has a car listed needs to be taken seriously in this campaign - if the trailing arm/axle would have snapped while I was at speed it could have been devastating not only to me, my family but anyone on the road. . . I'm continuing to talk to vw because my concern is the metal. . . . And what are the replacement parts made of & when were they made?? I don't intend on paying one cent for this repair & will hold vw responsible 100% for this or any future issues resulting from their defective part/process.
Driving down highway car pulls to the right. Steering is out of line even with alignment adjustments. Car is all over the road. Difficult to drive staright without swerving. Dangerous going around corners. Vehicle had been diagnosed several times. No warranty repairs were made due to costs.
I was driving when I heard a metallic sound, a quick inspection at the side of the road did not reveal anything. I drove it to a repair shop where they found that the rear driver side spring had snapped. My mechanic stated that he sees this frequently with Jettas.

The contact owns a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v656000 (suspension); however, the dealer stated that the part needed to perform the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
The contact owns a 2003 Volkswagen Jetta. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the rear of the vehicle began swaying independently. The contact, who was a licensed mechanic, inspected the vehicle and discovered that the rear driver¿s side axle bracket was rusted and became fractured. The dealer was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure however, declined to provide the contact an alternative remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 67,000.

There is a serious design flaw in the rear axle of this vehicle whereby road debris can strike the axle causing it to bend. I think the design flaw is two-fold. 1. The axle is placed in such a manner that it is totally unprotected from road debris. 2. The metal of the axle and trailing arms is not hardened to a strong enough degree to withstand debris strikes and subsequent stress. Driving at highway speeds, I ran over a 4-6" piece of two by four or possibly angle iron (not sure which). The object was kicked up by the front cowling. The object made multiple impact strikes under the car from front to back as evidenced by the markings left on the aluminum covered insulation that covers the undercarriage, ultimately striking the rear axle, causing it to bend. The bend in the axle is front-to-back. This is not from backing over any object (see campaign 14v656000). This is a serious design flaw and a serious safety issue. The rear axle and trailing arms are exposed to road debris and not of sufficient strength to withstand impact and subsequent stress on trailing arms. A thin piece of sheet metal is not sufficient to remedy this issue and is exposing american drivers to serious crash potential and death. . Read more...
After a new issue happened again in the same general area of the issue with my car that had been happening pretty much since purchasing the car. The noise that has been occurring now at this point, is still the same rumbling, throbbing noise (similar to a bearing going out or bad), but now is causing more and more issues such as the rattling noises coming from the engine through the a/c exhaust, which happens hear and there something I tell the dealership, but yet they tell me that can't do anything even I showed them the video. Well now I bring in my car to the vw dealership on another issue that had started happening on the same side as the original noise that has been progressively getting worse and seems to be affecting and causing new issues. This new issues occurs when reversing my car out without using breaks just my clutch, I turn my wheel all the way to the right and reverse out, to hear a wooooo noise they is loud and not normal, but yet here comes vw to tell me they could not repeat the issue, even though once again I had video as well as audio evidence of it, they would not help me. My miles are now higher and it really seems they don't care and treat me like I am crazy. I really think there is something truly wrong with my car because of these new noises occurring and getting worse.
Would like to know if there is any recalls on my Jetta. I check engine light comes on. I took it to 4 repair shop and no one could find whats wrong with it. I've paid over 1200 on other repairs. What can I do . Thanks christina.

Per service advisor rattle occurs from rear deck on vehicles equipped with "fender" sound system and they have a "campaign" to fix the problem but not on this model year.
My 2010 vw tdi sportwagon eats up the inside of the tires, very quickly. I just purchased my fifth set of tires for a car with less than 70,000 miles on it. I've had the alignment checked three times, and it continually shows to be within specs. The first two times, I had a vw dealership check the alignment, and both times they told me there was nothing they could do. I just had a private mechanic check the alignment, and he said I couldn't have a more perfect alignment, according to vw's specs. The last set of tires I purchased were rated for 55,000 miles, but I only got 15,000 out of them before the insides were worn down into the belts. This is a very dangerous situation since the rest of the tire looks new, and unless you get the car up on a lift, or lay down on the ground to deliberately look at the inside of the tires, you cannot see the damage taking place, and placing the operator in a situation where a blow-out can occur without warning. Plus, not to mention the extremely high cost of tire purchases to operate this vehicle.
