4 Battery problem of the 2004 Volkswagen New Beetle

Failure Date: 08/28/2007

I have had my 2004 vw beetle at boardwalk dealership in richardson, TX 3 times for the same problem. My car will lose all power the battery light will come on I will have to turn the car off and restart the car. This has happen on interstates as well as on busy streets. I am very fearful that I am going to be in a very bad accident. I take my 76 year old mother to the doctor several times a month. She has had 2 major back surgeries this year. I have had the car in the shop on 9-4-07, 9-18-07, 9-21-0. All for the same thing. On 9-27-07, I was in down town dallas and it happened at least 7 times. I called the dealership and they had a wrecker to put me and the car up. They are telling me today 10-26-07 to pick the car up that they can't get the car to duplicate the problem. There is a bad problem with this car not having any power and I am scared to drive it.

5 Battery problem of the 2002 Volkswagen New Beetle

Failure Date: 09/15/2006

Passenger door had been difficult to get closed since about 9/15/06, but on this date, although door had been successfully closed and locked for 20 miles, it swung open as I was exiting a us highway and turning onto a state highway. Fortunately I was alone in the car. I took it to a private shop and had the door repaired - although now I can't open it using the outside handle, the door has no problems latching. Previous to this issue with the door, my trunk release buttons on both my driver's side door and my remote wouldn't release my trunk - I was only able to open it manually using the key in the lock. I replaced the remote battery, but that had no effect. After my car door was repaired, my trunk releases started working again. However, on occasion the trunk has had the same reluctance to latch that the passenger door did. In the last month, my windows have decided to go no farther than an inch from top on the passenger side and only halfway up on the driver's side and I can neither unlock nor lock my car using the interior buttons - I can only use my remote.

6 Battery problem of the 1998 Volkswagen New Beetle

Failure Date: 03/12/2000

I"ve had multiple failures with my 1998 beetle. The car was overheating--found out that the engine fuses were melted over the battery terminal. My reverse lights stopped working--no one has been able to correct that yet, my daytime running lights don't usually work, but sometimes will come on all by themselves. Got locked in my car twice. The alarm sometimes goes off for no reason. The car periodically doesn't start. Had it towed to vw twice for this. They could find no problems. Also, something in the car's electrical components is drowning the battery--have to buy a new battery every six months. I have replaced both windows once . I had the brake light switch replaced three times and was rear -ended once before vw finally did a recall on that part. I'm sure I have left something out--there is so much it's hard to remember. Bottom line--this car is a hazard on the road for the person driving and other motorists.
