Left front lowbeam went out, replaced bulb but still comes on intermittently. Contacted vw and my car was not part of original recall , however my vw dealer has said hundreds of this make and model not covered under original recall have had same issue.

I brought my car a year ago to central auto group in plainfield, CT for a low beam light out on my car. I replaced the bulb and it still didn't work. The warning light was on also. They cleaned and looked for recall on the car but didn't find one. They said bulb was fine. I was told not to slam hood and be careful. Everything for recall 14v125000 apples to my car but it is not on list. I still have the car warehouse of when it was made in 2012. Why is my car not included in this recall. I have to replace the light holder? this is not right. There are many people out there having the same issue. My son drives this car. I would like assistance. My low beam light is out again. I changed the bulb but it won't work. The warning indicator light is lit up also. Thank you for your time.
We bought this car for my 17 year old daughter. The lights are so bad that it is a danger driving at night. We took it back to the dealer who replaced the regular lights with led lights, slight better but still dangerous. After researching we found that this is a defect and the are many complaints. We took it to the vw dealer who confirmed this is an issue with this car and there is not much we can do about it but replace the entire lighting system which would be very costly. I am worried about my teenage daughter driving this car at night.

The low beam lights provide extremely poor lighting resulting in very poor visibility and creating a concerning unsafe night driving. The front projector headlamps fixture installed in this model are very poor and creates a very dangerous driving, I have tried to upgrade the lamps but there is not improvement. This issue should be recalled from the manufacturer, it is a life safety matter. Please help. Thank you.

Low beams on both sides constantly fail. Have replaced bulbs with many different brands. Failure occurs around every 6 months, go figure. Mechanic stated to replace housing unit would cost between $600 to $800.

Passenger headlamp (dipped low beam) is held in place by friction only. New lamps installed fall out of socket while in use daytime running and night time vision). New hardware was purchased per manufacturer illustration, but there was no place to attach hardware to back of low beam socket. Entire headlamp assembly (including high beam and marker light) had to be replaced.
Vehicle cluster illumination lights stopped working, not fuse or relay related. Main electrical harness malfunction. Major electrical diagnosis.

Tl- takata recall. The contact owns a 2012 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that the air bag warning light stayed lit for longer than six months. The contact later received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v483000 (air bags) and the parts were not available to receive the recall repair within a reasonable time frame. The recall indicated that the parts would not be available until mid early 2016. The contact was not notified but was also included in NHTSA campaign number: 14v125000 (exterior lighting) and was to check with the dealer and the manufacturer on when they would provide the remedy for the recall repair. The approximate failure mileage was not available. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Parts distribution disconnect. Dyd.
Despite performing the regularly scheduled (very expensive) maintenance for this vehicle, we had many issues with our 2012 Volkswagen Passat tdi. This car was a commuter vehicle and was driven 110 miles/5 days per week at 55-65 mph. We thought that with proper care and maintenance this car with its diesel engine would last more than 111,000 miles. . . We are so disappointed and frankly irate. What a waste of money. Our issues were: at numerous mileages, our head, tail and running lights had to be replaced at about $50/instance. At 104,738 miles, the passenger window would not go up or down. The window pin was replaced for $184. 05. At 101,019 miles, the timing belt was replaced at a cost of $1,260. 76. At 111,166 miles, our 2012 Volkswagen Passat tdi began to run very rough and loud on trip. We made it home and my husband brought the car to the Volkswagen shop where we were told that bearings broke off and destroyed the interior of our engine. We replaced the engine at a whopping $6,865. 76. At 127,115 miles the car would not start. We towed it to the dealer where we were told the starter had gone out and needed to be replaced. We sold the Passat on the spot to the dealer before fixing this issue. We could not bear to sell this car to a private party.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that while driving at night with the head lights turned on, the light would not illuminate in front of the vehicle impairing the vision of the driver. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who indicated that the position of the light was too low but no adjustments to correct the problem could be made. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 285,000. Pam.
Takata recall, fuel pump control module recall, wirrs for headlamps failty. Head lamps go out while driving sometimes, faulty parking break that has been fixed and does not work again. No fix for fuel module recall. Car stalls while driving in traffic. Paid 5200 out of pocket for both recalls. Car can not be inspected due to recall with no fix. Been fixing the recall problems out of pocket since November 2014. Also fuel cap light comes on while driving and gas gauge does not work. Both also have been repaired and are again now faulty.
I was pulling slowly into a parking space, and the car suddenly surged and hit a parking meter pole. The same thing happened again six and a half weeks later, again at very low speed. This time the car hit the wall of the parking ramp, and the driver's airbag deployed. In both cases, it was the first time the car had been driven that morning, a distance of about three miles.
"takata recall" car was recalled for lights, after being in the shop my car would not start, I was told my service manager that it was due to the weather, I responded with it cant be cause the battery is holding a charge, I was kicked out of service area, I have also paid for my airbags to fixed and I complained about the warning light before recall happened, and before 36k milage experation. . My day time running light recall, has been serviced three times still does work. . I cant see the road at night. My car sometimes stahls iwhile driving and will not go over2krpm, OH you can also move the gear shift without holding button down while driving. .
The right low beam lamp remains off, even though the bulb is good, rendering the vehicle unsafe to drive at night or in reduced vision. When pressure is applied to the back of the bulb fixture the bulb illuminates but then turns off again once the pressure is removed. The current vw recall for the same or at least similar problem does not extend to this VIN. The vehicle has never been in an accident and the hood has never been roughly closed, unless done during service at a vw facility.
Loss of either daylight running lamp(s) and/or lowbeam headlamp(s) due to lamp sockets melting in housings. 3 times this has happened, once with the daytime lamps and twice with the l/s headlamps.
1. The lighting recall I have had my car serviced at least 4xs for light. . The light is still not fixed, every time the hood is open and closed the light goes out. 2. I was sent recall letter about airbag, I went to have it fixed and was told that the sensor got wet and its my responsibility and was charged alomost 1k to fix it. 3. My car while driving says settings are not accessible, this is constant and its not as though im trying to change the settings, while driving. Also the last time I took my car in for service I paid for my ac filter to be changed and it wasn't they said my tires were ok they were not. I have been kicked out of one dealership because the service manager was clearly a racist. I have had so many problems and when I call vw of America im put on hold, just to be told that there is nothing they can do. Now they are calling me over, and over to extend my warranty, I paid for my car in full. . I cant get one person to take my issues seriously, I can barely see the road when driving, the cars settings constantly change. Last but not least I paid for cosmetic issues and had a new battery put in all while under warranty. Because the service manager kicked me out of dealership.

Steereing: vehicle pulls to an excessive amount potentially leading to injury or death. It does not track straight at all, no matter if it's on the left lane of the road, center crown of the road or in the right lane (no curves. I took the vehicle in to the dealership over 4 times thinking it may be an alignment problem. I was told the second time that it pulls hard to the right as a "safety measure", to lead the car to the right shoulder to get off the road on to the shoulder. Asked the service advisor to show me where vw had disclosed this as a "safety" measure. There was no such documentation. I took it in to another vw dealership in my same city. They did what they said was the 'best they could do without exceeding vw's specifications. This is a dangerous defect and the second dealership admitted to me that vw was having some problems with this issue. Lights/electrical: the low beam light went out on the drivers side of the vehicle. I took it to one of the dealerships in my city. I thought it went out too soon but suspect it was an issue. It turned out to be more then a simple burnt out bulb. The whole light assembly had to be replaced because of what the service advisor told me was indeed a problem vw was having with the electrical connection making continuous contact (like a plug & receptacle). He stated that they had changed the design in the 2014 models because of this defect in the 2013 models. I requested that since it was a known issue, I would like them to retrofit or change out the passenger side light. He stated to me he was not authorized to change the defective unit until it actually fails. This is potentially dangerous as it can happen at night when lights are really needed, and during the day if lights need to be on for safety where it is required on some of the more dangerous roads. Get it in writing what is wrong-no glossing over.
