1 Oil Pump problem of the 2007 Volkswagen Touareg

Failure Date: 03/03/2017

The check engine light (mil) came on while driving. I experienced a lack of power and performance. Had it checked at an auto parts store and they said the trouble code was for camshaft/crankshaft positioning sensor. I replaced both camshaft sensors and the crankshaft sensor and reset the code. 400 miles later the light came back on. Took it to a shop and they said the timing chain had stretched and would need replaced to the tune of $2500. They also mentioned changing a problematic bolt on the oil pump, something they said had been an issue with the 3. 6 liter v6.

3 Oil Pump problem of the 2005 Volkswagen Touareg

Failure Date: 09/03/2012

Sign consistently appears saying "oil pressure problem stop engine now" especially when you try to exit the freeway. According to Volkswagen dealer, this could damage the engine beyond repair. This is a factory defect that is happening to many volswagen brands. This is something Volkswagen knew about and should do something about it. Volkswagen corporation should recall all vehicle with this problem and fix it without current owners suffering for it. Let me add that I have changed the switch, flushed engine, changed oil, changed catalytic converter, changed oil pump that connects the oil pan with the engine, the problem would stop for a while and comes back again.
