1 Car Stall problem of the 2004 Acura TL

Failure Date: 10/03/2018

My 2004 Acura Tl is my first car owned. When I put the car in drive I can only accelerate to 20-30mph on the highway. Because, the car would not accelerate on a straight way or up hills. This is a dangerous manufacture malfunction with Acura transmissions for the consumers financially and physcially. I would appreciate a recall being done on my 2004 Acura Tl because I love this car and would love to keep it. I am a college student and do not have the money to install another transmission and the same thing happens again. I have read many reviews about transmissins failures on Honda/Acura transmissions. I thought Acura was a great brand, but Acura ceo and headquaraters have to know that consumers are frustrated and angry regarding transmissions and other related issues due to the transmissions.

2 Car Stall problem of the 2009 Acura TL

Failure Date: 01/23/2017

My 2009 Acura Tl stalls for no apparent reason. I can be pulling out from a traffic light, pulling off after pausing at a stop sign, changing gears from drive to reverse, or just simply driving on the highway or a city street. My car can have a full tank of gas or less than half of a tank of gas, it can be cold or hot outside, it can be the first time I move my car for the day or the tenth time, etc. I have not been able to pinpoint the exact issue with my vehicle. I am growing more and more concerned that this stalling could place me in imminent danger but unexpectedly causing an accident in which my vehicle is rear-ended. Prayerfully, this doesn't occur on the highway (in which I drive to work daily!) in which speeds could exceed 80-mph. I initially noticed the problem in late January/February. I just assumed that it was in relation to the cold weather. I took my vehicle to Acura at oxmoor twice in relation to this problem - resulting in almost $700 worth of expenses. They completed a diagnostics and ended up 1. Replacing the crank position sensor; 2. Performing transmission service; and performing fuel induction service. The problem still exists and I am not sure how to proceed. Based on my review of Acura blogs on the internet, it seems that the problem is extremely prevalent amongst other Acura Tl owners and might be related to the torque converter. The problem could be related to Acura TSB #b16033. My car has more than 120k miles on it. But considering the manufacturer, cost, and continued proper maintenance (which has only been performed at Acura of oxmoor), I would expect my car to last at least 10 years without major transmission or engine problems.

5 Car Stall problem of the 2012 Acura TL

Failure Date: 06/26/2013

I purchased my 2012 Acura Tl in may 2013. In June I took in because it kept stalling while I was driving and more so when I stopped at a light and begin to accelerate. I kept taking it back for the same thing over the pass year and kept getting the same response. . We can find anything wrong with your car. The problem got progressively worse and in February of 2014, it stalled while I was driving and coasted and then picked back up. I took it back again and still they said they could not find anything wrong. Over the next few months again I took it back and still they could not find anything wrong with the car. While was driving on vacation to williamsburg va with my family at 65/70mph, the car jerked us about 3 times and then slowed down with no hope for acceleration, I tried to coast over to the side of the road meanwhile 2 cars almost hit me and are blowing the horn at me all while I am a nervous rec about the car. I told my husband this is it. . This car is certified and has a warranty for 7 years 100,000 miles and at that point it had $50k miles and I was done. . I took my car back again on August 3rd with the same complaints and this time when I get a call its to tell me that I need a new transmission. . Well I needed that last year when I first brought the car back when it was just a year old. . . I am not the only person with this complaint as I have read comments on other websites. But I have seen way to many of them to ignore this.

6 Car Stall problem of the 2008 Acura TL

Failure Date: 03/12/2012

I have a 2008 Acura Tl type-s. There is a safety recall for the power steering hose for this model, however the VIN of my car is not covered. I am experiencing the issue with the power steering hose leaking (verified by an Acura dealership). I called Acura and they said that even though I am experiencing the same issue as cars that are covered under the recall, my car is not covered. I know from reading reports from other Tl owners who have had the same issue, the hose on my car does not have the hose with the heat-shield that is installed when the recall work is performed, thus my car has the defective hose and should be covered.
