Engine consumes one (1) quart of oil approximately every 4,000 miles. Vehicle was purchased new. If you follow the oil life minder (per the owner's manual) and change the oil when the indicator lights up (typically around 7,000 miles) the engine oil is well below the normal dipstick operating range.

The contact owns a 2007 Acura Tl. While driving 35 mph, the contact smelled a burnt odor coming from the vehicle. He inspected underneath the hood and discovered that most of the components were melted. The dealer informed the contact to wait a week until an engineer could properly inspect the vehicle. No repairs were made. The powertrain was unknown. The current and failure mileages were 2,500.

The car experiences fluctuations in vehicle rpm at all speeds while keeping the accelerator pedal constant. This is noticed with and without the air conditioner on and at various speeds but more noticeable at around 40mph. I brought it to my dealers attention at the second year state inspection service (15,793 miles) but nothing was done as I thought I would continue to monitor it.

I recently had a recall attended to on my 2000 Acura when the technician told me that my engine mounts needed replacement! I was quite surprised at this expecially when he then told me that this was an inherent problem with this car and he does 10-15 perf week!!! the mounts, he said, are designed to last between 70-90000 miles, and since I had 87000 it was no surprise to him. I have had many cars and never ran into this problem, with an inherent engine mount defect. If this is the case, I feel the design should be corrected and we, the owners should not be responsible for the $458(at this time) is costs to fix their mistake. Thank you for your concern. Respectfully, joel kreiss.

Consumer complained about engine problems. Stated that the engine blew out, and that neither the dealer or the manufacturer wanted to do anything about it.
The engine revved up to 4000 rpm as if the vehicle was in neutral. The transmission did not automatically shift into higher gear as it should have. Scc.
