This car is not safe. First, the takata airbags are in it. I drove my daughter, my mother and my little dog in this car! I can’t believe the used car dealership did not let me know that. Then the car starts shifting funny. Also dangerous. There should be a recall for transmission. There are over 500 people affected by this. I’m trying to enter a highway and I need to pick up speed, because there is a tractor trailer in the right lane and heavy traffic. I try to accelerate and it goes nowhere. 30mph. And that was after I merged in and have traffic going 70 behind me. Scariest thing ever. They should not be allowed to sell these cars. It is not safe for the driver and their family and it is not safe for others on the road. I can’t believe the negligence. I will not be driving this death trap ever again.

The 2013 Acura Tl has a problem with the pistons in the engine causing excessive oil consumption. The contact owns a 2005 Acura Tl. The contact stated that she had parked her vehicle and went inside a store as her children waited inside the vehicle. Her son then texted her from inside the vehicle that the alarm had gone off. I was driving down hwy 101 in oregon state in the rain. I was accelerating because I had just turned onto the highway, I got up to about 60 mph whe the car started dinging as it does when you open the door with the keys still in the ignition. The vsa light, as well as the engine, oil, abs and battery lights all started flashing on the dash and the car turned off. The steering wheel locked up and I had to throw it in neutral, turning the key back and forth from the off position to the start position to get it to unlock right before I crashed into on coming traffick! there has been nothing wrong with the car other than routine maintenance an absolutely no signs anything is wrong with the car. It has 168436 miles on it and has been religiously maintained. There is a serious problem with this vehicle for something like this to happen. I've owned hundreds of cars and never experienced anything like this happening, ever!.

Random slipping/stalling causes not to go in gear. . Torque converter could. Coolant expansion tank needs replacement hoses and cap causes car not to heat up and operate at regulating temperature. Power steering pump replacement.

I was told by a mechanic that this 2006 Acura Tl I bought from joe's garage here in clovis CA was a car I do not want to be driving. Now when purchased from joe's garage he stated he put engine didn't say new or used, he also said the car was practically brand new because previous owner was a high school kid who assume he cracked his radiator and was not the problem, but the kid bought a new car and left Acura there since. Since the purchased I had nothing, but engine problems told joe never responded I did my own research come to find out joe's business licensed was suspended and that where he got my car Acura to pass smog of course was a smog business already being investigated for passing car illegally. So I took my Acura to Acura dealer here in fresno CA I was told all motor mounts were cracked so they replaced all motor mounts and installed used motor charging me $7,000 at that time I was in the process of suing joe's garage however since I have had no car emotionally distress because I paid $2700 for Acura trusting this business man come to find out its salvaged vehicle now you can understand how frustrated I am not including the losses in my life back to back not been able to just mourn rest etc because of cruel business companies intentions. I'm not asking for much all I want is for you to give Acura dealer here in fresno CA the ok to make sure my car is or passed the safety and drivable test making sure everything on car is safe to drive at no cost to me. I have grandkids who are my world and I need to have a good reliable car for them nathan here at Acura dealer called me yesterday asking me if I had money, I said no I will file my taxes and see but I honestly feel and would appreciate your help on closing the two companies for good and release my car to me at no cost.

My power steering has gone out I think hose busted hard to steer and transmission is slipping reverse is going out.

Car has been in family and well taken care of, smell of fire along with multiple alternators and battery changes. Mechanics cannot figure out why car goes through alternator and batteries. Paid for 6 to 8 alternator and battery. Transmission is now going on car. Like I said car has been taken care of but not worth transmission job, my complaint is I see almost every person who has Acura Tl all have transmission problems. I need Acura to answer for all transmission problems through the whole country and why so many alternators and batteries?.

The transmission just quit on me. No power at all.

While driving car, speed decelerated despite pressing on gas/accelerator pedal. Total ability to control speed on high way ended, as car crawled to a speed of under 5mph, nearly resulting in being hit by vehicles behind me. Immediately called independent mechanic who advised me to cut off ignition and restart the car. Highly dangerous to even attempt on a highway during rush hour traffic, nearly resulting in a multiple car crash. Reproduced several times until mechanic was able to diagnose and correct an issue unknown to me. There was no warning light indicator at all, no messages on car navigation/information panel.

My transmission ran out in freeway and it almost killed me I need a recall.

I bought my car from the dealership about April of 2019 with 59920 miles and the recall was not fixed now they asked me to do a test to bring the car back and fourth only to run up the miles and time frame to not fix the problems that has occurred from the recall not being fixed there was also a lawsuit document send to me home stating they would fix the recall for free and at this point my car could bring down any day I am a federal employee of the united states government something needs to be done immediately they are selling people defected car / lemons with out consequence and not fixing the recall befor they are bought.

My 2005 Acura Tl has lost power at least a dozen times while I have been driving on the freeway. The battery also completely drains after the car has not been driven for a day or two. I just replaced the battery and have had the alternator tested at least half a dozen times by 3 different mechanics. My issues sound very similar to the fuse box recall but my VIN does not fall under the recall apparently.

The dash is prematurly cracking causing pieces to become potential projectiles if involved in an accident and the airbag deploys. The cracks may possibly also cause the airbag to not properly deploy. Also the powersteering pump is leaking fluid severely. There was a recall issued for every 2007 and 2008 Tl, but specifically excluded the type s which is now showing the same symptoms and possible fire risk due to the leaks. The car also has premature wear on the motor mounts and now beeds motor mounts replaced.

From the day after that we took the car from the lot the car had a light turn on to tighten fuel cap. We have replaced that and the solenoid and failed. The coolant system has been replaced and it still overheats. Now the car is suffering of no start condition. Dont understand why so much trouble has been experienced and we only took it from the lot 7 months ago. 119,000 miles. Only 91 octane.

There is a very common issues going on with these Acura from 2000 up to 2008. With transmission going bad. I research it and found out with every shop and people online having transmission break down with those Acura Tl 2000 up to 2005. Please can someone investigate this. There should be a recall for this at some point. The stop accelerating while I was driving it on the highway. That was a very big safety issue for me.

Car went in for 100k service. Vehicle was diagnosed as also needing valve adjustment. While valves were being adjusted a bad camshaft was identified as cause of noise. I paid to have camshaft replaced but have been in automotive field 50 years so I know unless there is a problem this is not a normal wear item. . I asked for the old parts after the repair. Inspection of the old camshaft showed only one lob had unusual wear which again is unusual. I did a rockwell hardness test on the suspect lobe and the very next lobe and found a significant difference in hardness. The non worn lob was 47. 9c and the failed lob measured 42c. I looked on line and noticed many other Acura/Honda owners had posted messages about the same failures. I contacted Honda customer service and gave them this same information. About three weeks later I received a call letting me know they didn�t,t feel responsible because the car is out of warranty and I used a Honda dealer for the repair rather than an Acura dealer. I don't understand the the second excuse because the engines in both these vehicles are pretty much the same.

Vehical slips out of gears while driving on the hwy also feels like the car wheels or maybe even the transmission locks up while on the hwy . A very bad jerk , it seems like the gears are locking up for a quick second after the jerk it will proceed on . The jerks. These jerks are starting to damage my suspension and also my gears. . There was asafety recall for the transmissoion gears . I have taken my vhical to Acura of cerrittos and they refused to inspect and notify me of my vehical transmission gears status they said there was a oil line that was added but they cant show me where the work was done. While driving my vehical home from the dealership Acura of cerritos this transmission gears started locking up so bad that the jerks injured me my girlfriend and 3 of our kids and damaged my steering and suspension. Please help.

Engine is missing a piston ring on one of the cylinders was overlooked in facory. Causing car to consume 0ver 80% of oil every 1000 miles.

Additionally, the power steering failed and the steering wheel became extremely difficult to turn. Another driver noticed smoke under the hood. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 12v222000 (steering). The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

My wife was driving,I was in the front passenger seat and we smelled rubber burning next we noticed smoke from the hood area. We pulled over turned on the flashers and opened the hood and smoke came out heavy and I saw a fire at the bottom of engine area. We called 911 and a fire truck put out the flames. The engine was destroyed. They towed it to a auto shop and we are waiting for an insurance agent to contact us. Fyi we were driving on a three lane street called portola drive in san francisco CA.

In the Acura 3. 2 motors, the cylinders have oil release holes that are not smooth which is causing metal shavings to get stuck, shave and damage the cam shafts and cause motor failure. They are causing serious grooves on the outer 2 cam bearings that have the larger release holes. My motor failed due to this. I was driving, car stopped running, I thought my timing slipped. I pulled the motor apart and my cam was seized up after looking into it further. I order a new motor same year, make, model, thinking it was just my motor. I pulled the new motor apart and I found the same issue! the cam was getting scored due to the oil release hole not being smooth. I also realized that on the side that was not getting damaged it had an oil sylph, and which the side that was getting damaged did not.

The contact owns a 2008 Acura Tl. While driving at approximately 40 mph, the vehicle lost all power and the check engine and vsa warning lights illuminated. The contact depressed the accelerator pedal three times to move the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the accelerator pedal position sensor needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, after the contact left the dealer, the failure recurred. The vehicle was not taken back to a dealer or diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 124,000.

Power steering pressure hose leaking and power steering pump leak. Years 2004-27 have been recalled for this; 2003should be, as well. Right engine mount and rear engine mounts cracked or broken.

Automatic/manually shifts, manual gears d4 shift stuck in gear and causing electrical and engine problems. Transmission failure occured.

I purchased the car listed above in February 2014. Due to transmission problems, I went to trade this car in and purchase a newer one. I was then informed by the salesman that there was a discrepancy with the milage on the car I was trading in. The history report showed my car at 281,762 miles in July of 2013. At the time I was trading the car in it had a milage of 161,787. When I was sold the car in February of 2014 the milage was listed at approximately 140,000 miles. There was no notice on the car indicating an engine swap or odometer swap. The car was sold at a price of $5500 dollars due to the outstanding milage for that year. I now believe this to be a common practice at this car lot as I did not trade the car in and returned it back to the car lot.

Engine mounts are broken. I have own more than 10 cars and I have never had the engine mounts fail. The car has 75000 miles. Acura should replace the engine mounts. It appears that I am not the only one with the same problem.

The technician diagnosed that the transmission my ount,the tcc solenoid and the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 164,000.
