First off my driver side power window has never worked. I changed my window motor with the regulator twice. That did not fix my window. I changed my drivers master window module twice. I checked all of the fuses and the power window fuses were good. My power window still doesn't work after $400 in parts and $400 in labor. I took my car to the Acura dealership because my car had a few recalls. The person helping me at the dealership was real rude and disrespectful. He told me the only recall I had was for my srs airbag. He had to order the part. I haven't received a phone call from the dealership to let me know the part was in. Two weeks later I go in and check if the part was I n. The same person that helped me came up to me and had an attitude and was disrespectful again. He told me the part was in but they can't service it that day. They never communicated with me. Horrible service at karen radley Acura. I told the service guy that my car does not want to come out of first gear and there was a recall on my transmission. He was real rude and told me that I had to pay $6000. I did a little research and my 02 Acura Tl type s with my VIN number has many recalls. 1 for my air bags. 2. For my transmission 2nd gear. 3 for my drivers power window. I told this Acura service guy that I had recalls for all 3 things and he laughed at me. My cluster fuse keeps blowing and the code that comes up is for my transmission range sensor. 70+ people with an 02 Acura Tls have had the same issues as me. I just contacted Acura and they told me that the transmission has been completed. No recall has been done on my car. I need help please.

The other day I picked up my twins from daycare at rush hour after work, proceeded to get on the highway where suddenly my tsa & engine lights come on, my car goes limp and we were in a very near-miss accident situation. I try to keep my calm as my children are keenly aware that something is wrong. I look at the dash, I look at the cars coming from the back and side, and I slowly creep along and immediately put my hazards on. Now I have to get myself from the left lane and maneuver in to the right with people coming up that can't yet see my distress signal. Fortunately, it was in fact a near-miss, and I was able to pull out of the driving lanes, stop my car, turn it off, and call my husband for help. I found that this exact situation has happened to many customers. Surely, there must be a recall on this accelerator pedal position sensor (app sensor). I call my new home's nearest dealership (libertyville IL ) to ask about any recalls on my VIN, and to additionally check about recalls on the app sensor. Nothing. This, however, has been repeatedly reported to you by many people over the years, and today I am reporting it again. Libertyville IL certified Acura dealership confirmed it was a sensor failure. In fact, when I spoke with bruce at the libertyville IL location, I expressed my sincere feelings about the situation and how I could not understand how this is not a recall item. In his attempt to make me feel better he said, look, this is such a rare thing. In my 15+ years in this business, you¿re only the 4th case I have personally had. ¿ instead of reassuring me, this infuriated me. One mechanic¿turned-service manager alone has had four of these death trap sensors? seriously, I have to ask, how many reported incidents does it take?.

I was pulling off the interstate and came to a red light on a hill right before haywood road. I had to stop because the light was red and when the light turned green I pulled onto haywood road and the car went through 1st gear, 2nd gear and right before it went into 3rd it slipped out of gear and just revved to around 4000 rpm. When the car went into 3rd and started sipping I had a pile of cars that bunched on my behind. I had two guys in a truck scream and yell obscene gestures.

The contact owns a 2002 Acura Tl. The contact stated that the gears had been slipping and slow to change over with a sudden jerk or lunge. The rpms would race intermittently once the gears changed and the engine and emissions warning indicators illuminated. The dealer (rivertown Honda, 4260 kenowa Ave sw, grandville, mi 49418, (616) 667-4500) cleared the codes, but the codes returned on the instrument panel within 48 hrs. The contact was uncertain if the dealer could provide a solution after taking the vehicle back again with no specific repair solution. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 04v176000 (power train). The failure mileage was not available.
Upon driving on a freeway going around 50 mph my transmission suddenly pulled my car to a quick slowing down motion as if being moved from gear down to first or second. Luckily, there were no vehicles behind me as I was in a far right line. It is an older vehicle however it is a recurring issue it appears as there was a recall on it already before. The dealerships have given me conflicting stories on the vehicle history as far repairs and recalls on the vehicle and I do wish to have the NHTSA look into the history of this recall as well as warn the current owners of the vehicle of this issue as I had not had a problem with the transmission since becoming the owner and was not told of the recall upon multiple visits to the dealership.
My daughter died in a accident on November 7, 2013 in the Acura Tl 2003. She had been telling me that it felt like the agnition was sticking and would speed up. I would check with my local mechanic and he told me Acuras are known to idle high. I beleive that her car problem was the cause of the accident and the police could not give me a reason for the accident. She was 19 and a senior in high school and was a good child.
I bought my Acura February 2011. Since then I have had 2 transmission failures and have spent well over $1400. 00 each time I got it fixed by the certified mechanic. I still have my receipts and only got a 1 year warranty first time and a 3 month warranty this past time . It seems like I am paying more for the transmission alone than the value of the car. The engine is great but I am afraid the transmission is going to fail again and I cannot afford to buy another car or fix the problem if it does fail again. This is a concern for me because the first failure was very scary for me and my family. We were driving up a steep hill to overview a city we visited and the transmission shut down and we were inclined. I did not know how to approach this situation with 3 minor children and as a single mother. It was very overwhelming and I was petrified. Then come to find out not so long later after getting the transmission fixed, the transmission went out again. I am very concerned and have blogged and read alot of complaints about this car. You can youtube google all kinds of info on these Acuras with constant transmission problems. I think the manufacturer intended on this malfunction for profit as a automechanic. It is very unfair, unsafe, unjust with them selling cars that do not last 5000 miles and then have the transmission fail over and over. I am the owner of the 2002 Acura. Please keep me informed about this car and if there is any way someone can help me get warranty for free because it is really unfair. Thank you for your time and concern. God bless what you guys and girls are doing.
The bluetooth audio unit on my 2006 Acura Tl has short circuited and is draining my battery causing the ignition system issues when starting the car in the morning. The short circuit had occurred due to the audio unit being placed above the rearview mirror console, this location is exposed to sunlight which in turn causes the components to heat up and damage the audio unit.

Purchased my new 2012 shawd Acura Tl advance in March of 2012. The car had less than 100 miles when purchased and currently has 5k miles (January 2013). The car vibrates when driving at speeds between 40 and 80 mph. It feels like the tires are flat spotted or wheels are out of balance. The wheels and tires have been checked and confirmed by the dealer on 2 seperate ocasions as ok. The dealer classified this vibration as a "vehicle characteristic. " I'm worried it is the sign of a major issue they dont want to deal with.

Able to turn off the vehicle and remove the key without the car being in park. This is a big safety concern since I have two teenage drivers! I see there is a recall of some 2000 Acura Tls for the interlock operation of the ignition switch but my VIN number is not included, yet I have this problem. The dealer and Acura customer care say that my car is not covered under the recall. Why?.
I was driving at approx. 45 mph when I felt my car die, all my gauges went down and I lost power steering. Luckily I was close to an intersection and pulled to the side of the road. I put the car in park and it started again. Then on the way home, it did the same thing in the middle of a busy road. The car died and I pulled over and tried to start it several times. . Upon a normal recall invitation for the air bag inflator ( per manufacturer requirement) a separate normal inspection was done to vehicle. The mechanic found the front and right front motor mounts have collapsed. I know several other owners of Honda and Acura of the same year and SUV models with the same failure.
Upon keyless ignition, engine continues to race even though gas pedal is not depressed. When applying brakes, engine continues to accelerate, and gas pedal seems to stick even after foot is removed from gas pedal and placed on brake pedal. This happens intermittently without any warning, and speed doesn't seem to come into play. I am afraid to drive this car with this condition. It has happened when I have other people in the car, and now they refuse to drive with me for fear that I am not going to be able to stop. It happened 4 times last Thursday evening 9/1/11 on the NJ turnpike going north after the toll at 16w going west to route 3, past the meadowlands. Traffic was heavy because of an nfl game, and was moving very slowly (no more than 20 miles an hour). When gas pedal was released to reduce speed, the engine was still accelerating, even after the brake was depressed. I drove defensively making sure that I stood well behind the car in front of me to allow enough of distance between it and me to stop. I have owned other Acura vehicles and have never experienced this problem. It is hazardous to drive this car - both to the driver and other cars on the road. I had it towed to the dealership where it will soon be checked by the manufacturer. I had recorded this situation when I brought the car in for service on 6/20/11, and the manufacturer could not find anything wrong. In retrospect, it seems that sometime when I was going from one speed to another, the transition to the higher speed was not smooth. Note, I never use cruise control, nor the manual shifting. Updated 11/17/11.

Out of the whole month of Dec until now,I am driving down the road, and my car just cuts off, no warning at all, I have almost been in 2 accidents due to this as I have a small child, I am concerned about this. . Also my check engine n emissions light has been on since Acura fixed my transmission back in 2005 why did they not check the recalls for this? I had no clue about the recalls as I was the new owner of what I thought was a 'safe" car for my child!never again will I purchase one of these. I am a single mother who needs this completed not my fault this car had recalls. . .
Broken engine mounts (failure) discovered by firestone auto care, hickam afb, hi, while doing an engine diagnostic. No action done to repair because of high costs.
Engine started idling at about 3000 rpm unexpectedly, could not make it stop. It was hard to control the vehicle when it would not go under 3000 rpm. Fortunately it stopped after about 10 minutes. Took to dealer, found problem was idle control mechanism on top of engine, it was replaced.
The contact owns a 2005 Acura Tl. The contact stated that the air bag and engine warning lights were illuminated. The failure recurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnosis where the technician was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
- the contact stated that while driving the 2000 Acura 3. 2tl with 138000 failure mileage on two separate occasions the vehicle began to jerk, the d5 icon started to flash on the dashboard, and the vehicle was idling at a high rate. The contact had an appointment on 3/19/07 with a mechanic.
American Honda to recall vehicles to repair ignition interlocks certain 1997 to 2002 Honda and Acura vehicles affected torrance, calif. , February 1, 2005 -- american Honda motor CO. , inc. Today announced a voluntary recall of certain Honda and Acura models to repair ignition switch interlocks. The interlock is intended to prevent removal of the ignition key unless the shift lever is placed in the "park" position. Some interlock levers may be improperly dimensioned, which could allow the operator to switch the ignition off and remove the key without putting the shift lever in the "park" position. The recall involves approximately 486,000 automatic transmission equipped vehicles - manual transmission equipped vehicles are not affected. Included in the recall are certain 1999 to 2002 Honda accord models and all 1997 to 2001 prelude models. Also included in the recall are certain 1999 to 2000 Acura Tl sedans. American Honda will contact owners of affected vehicles when parts are available and ask them to take their vehicle to an authorized dealer to be repaired free of charge. Prior to the vehicle being repaired, drivers should follow the parking procedure in the owner's manual: apply the parking brake and shift the transmission to the "park" position before exiting the vehicle. Details regarding mailing dates and affected vehicles will be available on the Honda and Acura web sites on February 4, 2005. . Read more...
Multiple issues over a 2. 5 year period with a new 2003 Acura 3. 2 Tl type s. I have had a transmission replaced after receiving a safety recall. Secondly, the car has had an idling issue for 2. 5 years that was just recently resolved with the replacement of an engine control valve. Third, the a/c was not working properly and the compressor was replaced. Fourth, the idle air control system was bad and had to be replaced. Fifth, and most worrisome, is that I have had white smoke come from under my hood on 3 separate occasions. The Acura dealership has told me they are unable to reproduce the problem and cannot assist me in resolving the issue.
I have a problem in automatic transmission of my Acura Tl 2000 that I bought 2years ago. When shifting from 2nd to 3rd sometimes it dont change the gear. It seems like slipped. Upon search I found out that this car was recalled for fixing this problem as it is manufacturing fault. But the owner didn't take it may be because it is registered in uae and Acura don't have much appearance here. I want to know if Acura can do something now at dealership of Honda in uae.
