Windshield Wiper/washer Problems of Buick Lesabre

Windshield wipers worked intermittently. Dealer was notified. Dealer informed consumer that this vehicle was not covered under recall due to VIN.

While driving in inclement weather, the windshield wiper blades separated. This caused the windshield wiper blades to scratch the windshield, resulting in poor visibility. The consumer contacted the dealer, but there was no response from theem.

While driving and with no warning the left windshield wiper stopped working. It was raining hard when the left wiper failed, but the right wiper continued to work, and then the left wiper arm nut had come off. The dealer replaced the nut with a nylon insert so that it would not come off.

The windshield wipers were inoperative.

Consumer states that while driving at highway speed in a down poor of rain, the drivers side wiper quit, twenty minutes later the passenger side wiper stopped. Consumer states he was almost killed, could not see. Took to Buick, Buick stated that bolts that hold windshield wiper arms came loose. Consumer states there is no information in owner's manual that states you should make sure the two bolts are tight periodically.

Windshield wipers fail and will not work on delay when turned on.

Windshield wiper unit replaced due to failure.

When it rains windshield wipers do not operate fast enough on high speed. Not enough visibility to operate safely.

Every now and then when turning on the windshield wipers they do not come on. Reported to dealer in September of 97. Dealer not able to duplicate the problem. In March the circuit board was replaced, but the prolbem still continued. Vehicle taken to dealer again on may 8th. Dealer could not detect the problem with vehicle.

Windshield wipers have to work on high speed for a while before they can operate on normal speed. Vehicle been to dealer on four occasions, and problem still occurring. Feel free to provide any further information.

Consumer states during a severe thunderstorm windshield wipers did not work when he turned them on, when he turned wipers on high they started, but only after a period of time without being able to see the road, dealer has replaced the motor and switch, consumer was advised by dealer that condition would lead to a complete failure but they have not been able to determine the cause of the problem this is a ongoing problem.

When the windshield wiper switch is applied, fluid comes out onto the windshield and the wipers do not come on, making it impossible to see the road ahead. Dealer can't find the cause.

The windshield wipers did not function after vehicle was washed. Dealer tried to fix it. Problem occurred again during rainstorm causing poor visibility.

When using the windshield wiper fluid the blades do not move, making it hard to see out ahead on the road. Dealer can't fix problem.

Consumer stated while driving with the windshield wipers in use, they all of a sudden sped up suddenly to maximum speed, however they did not clear enough water away, after running at high speed for about 10 seconds, the drivers side wiper arm moved up and became tangled with the other arm near the middle, in which both arms were then inoperative, the drivers side arm was loose and it could move easily up and down the windshield, after the repair was made consumer found the nut which holds the drivers side wiper arm to the drive shaft had nothing to lock it in place, consumer believes that the nut could become loose again, which would cause the wiper arm to be inoperative.

Windshield wiper system must be used on a regular basis otherwise when used certain features such as the 'delay' feature will not work.
