What a pita this 2000 Lesabre has been. I will never purchase another Buick. (the least impactive of the five window failures); on a local freeway, I touched the right passenger switch and the window dropped open. Even though it was during winter months, I was able to make it home, open the door panel and wedge the window closed (duct tape). I cannot remember the details of all of the failures, but I am very fortunate that my wife was not driving in a bad neighborhood when any of them happened. The first couple of them occurred during the warranty. I asked to talk to the zone person after the 2nd occurrence. No joy with that experience. I was totally ignored. Thank god I have mechanical abilities (dad). I discovered that I could purchase for a whole hell of a lot less off of the internet a new/refurb unit rather than paying the extortionist rates of the garage. All four windows have been replaced, and the drivers window, 2x. The last was in the driveway, and I tried to open the driver's window. You know the noise of the snap of the device within the door panel. I ordered a new opener within an hour. This never should happen with a reputable manufacturer.

The contact owns a 2000 Buick Lesabre. The contact stated that while the rear windshield defrosting system was activated, the rear windshield fractured and had burnt marks along the frame tinted area. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure and current mileage was not available.
Dashboard cover lifting at driver side sight-line approximately at 1 o'clock position (straight ahead is 12 o'clock) over about a one foot width, where dashboard meets windshield . Height of rise maybe only an inch now but getting worse. Headliner also falling from overhead blocking driver's rearward view through rear view mirror.
Could not stop, brake fluid lost, rusted rear brake lines. Drivers side window does not go down and then starts working day after. Front brake lines also rusted and am afraid I will have accident if brakes fail again. Only rear brakes were replaced. It looked like brake line had been rubbing on body ,making a hole in rusted brake line.

The failure recurred with the front and rear passenger side door windows falling into the door. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000. Bt.
Dashboard on 2003 Buick Lesabre limited started to seperate interffering with heads up display and starting to obcure drivers sight which could lead to a potentially fatal accident gm/Buick refuse to do anything about the situation which is clearly a manufacturers defect.

Dashboard cover started lifting and pulling out from under windshield cowling about June 2012 and is traveling across to the passenger side where there is an airbag. I am now concerned that the lifting and creasing in front of the driver is a safety distraction and that if it continues to the passenger airbag that airbag may get set off unexpectedly, another safety hazard. It is definitely a manufacturer's defect and there are hundreds, if not thousands, of complaints of this on the internet. Is there, or will there be, a recall to fix this problem? thank you.
This I have found out online is a common problem, when I purchased my car I had a few windows suddenly drop on me & I figured out the window motors in 2 were broken, however when they dropped I also found out electrical systems in my door were damaged from the window motor failure, so now on my driver's side door I have no mirror adjustment, no unlock/lock button for safety in dangerous areas I drive, some windows (had all 4 motors replaced at the same time) work & some don't from certain areas, I even found after I used my right rear window motor, the trunk popped open! so to fix the problem I personally had to disconnect the new window motor as well as the trunk. Also for comfort in heat my heated seat doesn't work from my driver door. My car runs perfect but this shouldn't have happened. This should have been recalled for owners long ago for 2000-2005 Buick Lesabres.
The contact owns a 2002 Buick Lesabre. The contact stated that while driving, the windows would fall into the door panel suddenly and intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was found that the window regulator motor had fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and advised the contact to take the vehicle to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000. The current mileage was approximately 62,000.
One day I noticed a small separation of the dash behind the steering wheel. Over time the separation grew and grew until its up several inches right in my sight line and has spread almost the length of th dash to passenger side creating a hazardous condition of the airbag being exposed. There is a chat forum with many many Buick Lesabre owners with same condition and we can not get any help/response from gm other that replacing the dash and a high cost.

Dashboard on this car is separating near steering wheel. Concerned that this could eventually impair visibility and could affect the functioning of the air bags. Hope we don't need to wait till there are injuries or fatalities before gm decides to recall this problem and make the necessary repairs on these cars. Owned 1997 century that had no problems. Very disappointed as rest of the car is still in great shape. Currently has under 50k miles on the vehicle.
Tl- the contact owns a 2002 Buick Lesabre. The contact stated that while parked the rear driver's side window dropped into the door. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnosis. The mechanic stated the window regulator would have to be replaced. After the repair the failure occurred to the front and rear passenger's side windows. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 18,000. Da.
My front dashboard has been gradually coming unattached near the windshield. It has gotten so bad that it is hindering my view of the road. My daughter is just learning to drive and we have decided it is not safe for her to use my vehicle because her view of the road is blocked by the lifted dashboard. This is truly a safety hazard and I cannot believe Buick has refused to acknowledge this defect which is affecting so many of their customers.
All 4 windows have failed. One of them twice! my dashboard is separating exactly the same way many others have described theirs. I initially had major battery issues (battery is located under back seat on driver's side - how weird is that?). I would drive my car to the store, come out, and it would not start. One time, I opened the trunk to get my jumper cables and when I slammed the trunk lid, the radio came on! then, of course, the car started just fine. After owning this possessed car with major reliability issues for several months, we found an electrical mechanic who discovered a lose wire in the manufacturers electrical work which was somehow connected to the battery. My gas gauge hasn't worked in years. I am always at 3/4 to a full tank. This is otherwise a great car, but I am seriously disappointed that Buick will not stand behind some of these repeat problems, especially the electric motors for the windows and that horrible plastic part that continues to break. Somebody from Buick should read these complaints and do something.
The dash pad started peeling up, from the windshield side directly in front of the driver, approximately 2007. Every year it curled up more & more, by 2013 it had lifted about 3". I contacted Buick around 2010 about this defect, they did nothing. After researching this defect I have found hundreds of other Buick owner have had this same issue. This curling defect can particularly block one's field of view, especially short drivers who may not even be aware the dash is curling up.
The windshield wipers intermittently stop working. Multiple and continuing failures.
