The srs (air bag) indicator is on solid & will not reset. I researched the NHTSA office of defects investigation recall database and and found there was a recall on the 2000 Buick Regal for the interior systems: passive restraint: air gag: side door: driver. The NHTSA campaign id # is 00v371000. I was never contacted via mail on this recall. I was mailed information on NHTSA campaign id # 01v109000. What do I need to do besides get my vehicle to a dealer to have this srs unit checked? dt.

Airbag light on dashboard comes on and off intermittently. Stays on for a few days and then goes off. I have read that there was a recall for this probelm in Dec 2000. I have never received a recall notice from the dealer. Crowley Buick located in bristol, CT or gm. I purchased the car new in July 2000.
While driving air bag light will come on unexpectedly. Dealer did not know what could be causing the light to come on. This happens quite often making the driver nervous.
Air bag light was lighting intermittently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who ran a diagnostic. The diagnostic didn't retrieve any fault coded therefore nothing was repaired. The dealer also indicated that they did not have to do any repairs under the vehicle's warranty because the vehicle was not purchased from them. The consumer took the vehicle to the sales dealer who repaired the problem within a day. The dealer found that the sdm harness was improperly routed and pulled at the connector. (nar).

While driving air bag light comes on. Please provide any further information.
Air bag light on instrument panel on. Carried to have checked. Problem located with a module on the drivers side. Carried to someone else to check. Replaced coil, but that didn't correct the problem. Tried to order another part for the air bag. Part was on backorder due to a recall of 1995 Buick Regal. The same part required to fix my problem with same product code is the same product that has been recalled for the 1995 Buick Regal. Why hasn't the 1996 Buick Regal airbag problem been recalled. I have talked to Buick air bag hotline. They say it could be a while to get the part because of the recall. Why hasn't the airbag for my car been recalled yet or will it? I see where NHTSA is investigating this already. Action #ea99026 for the 1996 Buick Regal. Campaign # 00v171000. I wanted to report the problem with my car to further aid in a possible recall. Thank you.
