Front Air Bag Problems of Buick Regal

The contact owns a 1996 Buick Regal. After inserting the key into the ignition, the driver's side frontal air bag spontaneously deployed without an impact or crash. He is in the process of notifying the dealer to determine the cause of the failure. The failure and current mileages were 157,000.

When the driver put the key in the ignition, the air bag deployed. The driver sustained minor facial burns and bruises and was taken to the hospital emergency room. A Buick engineer determined there was a defect in the air bag, but could not determine what caused air bag deployment.

The vehicles horn starts to blow on its own. Took to a mechanic and they replaced the whole airbag system. September 2002 consumer recieved a recall letter the airbag sysyem. System had been replaced. Please provide any further information. Ts.

Consumer was driving 30mph going uphill when airbag deployed without warning. Consumer couldnot see what caused a crash, and consumer hit guardrail on right front side of vehicle. One injury. Vehicle at dealer, and dealer had no way to tell why airbag deployed without warning.

A truck hit consumer's vehicle at 35 to 40 mph, and none of airbags deployed. Car had been to dealer three times for severe electrical problems.

Consumer experienced air bag deployment while backing out the vehicle. Horn started to sound off, and suddenly the driver's air bag deployed for unkown reason. Dealer/mfr. Notified.

Design of vehicle is such that shorter people are in danger of injury from being too close to air bag when it inflates.

While traveling at 20 mph and when trying to avoid another vehicle consumer front tire ran into curve, causing frontal air bags to deploy without any indication. Please provide further information.
