I hit a deer going 60 mph and the airbag didn’t deploy, the service airbag light came on after I hit it. I’d assume that means the airbag tried to deploy but ran into an issue.

On Monday, August 14th, at approximately 5 pm, my wife and I were traveling in our 2018 Buick Regal towards a red streetlight. I began applying my brakes to come to a stop. I was several car lengths behind a vehicle that was up ahead. My car's engine then revved up and our vehicle kept on going and jerking front and back although I was applying the brakes. Our car failed to stop so I struck the stationary vehicle. I kept on applying the brakes, but the car kept on going and jerking until I struck the car in front a second time. Our vehicles engine continued to revve up and the brakes continued to fail and I struck the rear end of the car in front of me again. The other driver crossed the intersection with us traveling right behind with no control over our vehicle. When we crossed the intersection there was an incline, so this slowed down our car since our brakes did not work, I pulled the steering wheel to the right towards the cement curb, then I put the transmission into park, then the car's engine revved up once again and made a loud noise. Both vehicles sustained damage. I then was able to turn the engine off. This action was the only maneuver which stopped our car. Both my wife and I had injuries which we were checked at a hospital emergency room. We have our vehicle parked at our home's driveway and it it available for inspection. The fact that our vehicle's brakes failed to function placed me and my passenger and others at risk. My wife called our dealership the following day, and a manager stated we needed to report this incident. Our vehicle has not been inspected at this point. There were no symptoms of the problem that appeared other than the engine making a sound like increasing in speed and the brakes failing. At the hospital I was diagnosed with a concussion. My wife was diagnosed with neck pain since her head kept snapping back and forth and hitting the dashboard area and the headrest. The seatbelts plus the airbags also failed to properly function.

The two systems that failed are the airbag release on the front passenger side and the stabilitrak system. Both systems show error lights on the dash. The front seat passenger does not have airbag protection. The stabilitrak system error light appears intermittently and when the traction system goes off the car brakes almost stop the car while driving. We go to royal Buick in tucson, arizona. We worked with germaine kendrick. I've attached the dealer service invoice dated April 14, 2023. The invoice summarized the problem and stated that 1) a new seatbelt assesmbly is needed and 2) the service technician states that they can not replicate or repair the traction problems. Today is June 11, 2023. We are still waiting for the seatbelt assembly to "arrive". There is no solution for the traction system. We have phoned and texted 4 times. The most recent conversation on June 5th with "chris" was interesting; chris stated that the seatbelt part was never ordered and furthermore, is not needed to repair the airbag warning light problem.
Air bag system keeps coming on the dealer says it's my fault and they can't do nothing about it I have a kid and it's not safe my airbag can deploy anytime.
Service airbag was displayed on the dashboard when I started my vehicle. Took it in to a Buick dealership and it was the airbag module. My concern is that it went out at all in a vehicle that had less than 100,000 miles on it and if it would happen again.
On July 17, 2019 at 8:40am, I got into my car in my driveway. I turned the key in the ignition and the airbag exploded. (the car was not started. ) the airbag sounded like a shotgun being fired and a powder like substance immediately filled the car. The airbag itself hit me in the abdominal area. I found the door handle, opened the door, and rolled out of the car onto the ground. At this time, I yelled for my son. My son picked me up off the ground and called an ambulance due to me being in a severe amount of pain and in shock. I was taken to the hospital via ambulance and observed for the remainder of the day. I had several follow-up appointments that continue to this day. Insurance came to look at car, filled out paperwork, and said they were going to total the vehicle. The car has not been moved since this incident.

Vehicle was in motion: driving through an empty parking lot. followed road around the building. blinded by sunlight. hit stationary pole head on. Weather conditions : heavy rain : prior to 2:00pm light rain and sunshine between : 2:45pm and 3:04pm fault or problem description: knee / lower extremity airbag deployment. High risk of lower extremity injury for both in-position and out-of-position small female drivers. My left foot was forced upward due to the force of crash. The airbags deployed with such force, it snapped my left foot downward. The result is a left ankle dislocated and severe left tibia / fib fracture. Basically, I broke every bone in my left foot apart from my heel and toes. Surgery, Monday, November 5, 2018: open reduction / internal fixation (orif) with left bimalleolar ankle fracture / dislocation with close management talus fracture / subtalar surgery. I now have a plate and six (6) screws inside the bone to hold them in the correct place so the bones do not heal abnormally. The orthopedic surgeon informed me, due to this type of injury, arthritis will set in my ankle. I may want to consider ankle fusion surgery in the future. The fusion surgery would help reduce the chronic pain. Fusion surgery would result the inability to use my ankle, I. E. , to flex, point, bend ankle, and rotate the ankle at all. The fusion surgery is permanent. Component part or system that may be the cause of the safety risk: driver lower extremity response and injury with knee airbag deployment. Additional information and evidence related to your complaint: will be scanned and sent later.

At approxiamately 7:00am Friday July 19, my son and I got into the car which was parked in our garage. I proceeded to place the key into the ignition and started the car. Immediately the driver's airbag deployed hitting me in the face and chest breaking my glasses and there was some type of solvent or particles in the form of smoke that was in the air after the explosion. I'm calling it an explosion because we were not in an accident, but only going about our daily routine of activities. I know this is not typical of an airbag, so I would like to contact Buick to see if I have any grounds for compensation. As a result of this incident, I have ringing in my ears, my chest has been very sore now for the last 2 days and I haven't had the bag replaced or removed.
The contact owns a 1996 Buick Regal. The contact stated that as the vehicle was started, the air bags deployed erroneously. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for inspection or repair. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure and current mileage was 55,035.
I slid in a snow storm, hitting a truck and crashed in the front of my 2005 Buick, lacrosse. I was driving slowly due to the weather but gained speed as I came down the hill. The front of my car was severely damaged. None of my air bags deployed. The first emergency man on the scene said something was wrong with the air bags that they had not gone off with the type of crash and cut the power cables so they could not go off after the crash. The police officer told me that something was wrong that the bags did not go off with type of crash I had and I should have the bags investigated. Luckily, I did not break any bones but had many serious contusions, cuts, bruises, scrapes, whip lash, cracked breast bone, etc. My car was taken to the dealer I purchased it from. I was told that: "OH, the car wasn't hit hard enough," (remember the front is smashed) "it didn't hit the bumper low enough;" "this happens all the time that they don't go off;" "hmmm, that's interesting. " I told them that I felt that they were using false advertising when I bought the car with all the safety information of the air bags if this "happened all the time. " no response from them. That happened December 6, 2007. Today is December 29th and I still do not have a report for my insurance from the dealership although when they first saw the car they told me it would be totaled because the block was leaking fluid. My car rental will run out Thursday. I can not purchase a new car until I get things settled with my insurance. New car incentives, which I thought I would be able to use to help me out, will run out January 2nd and I will have missed that due to the dealership not getting a report in to the insurance.

When turning steering wheel, in any direction, there's a "rubbing" noise from within steering column. Mechanic diagnosed the clockspring was rubbing against some internal wires and if the wires short the air bag may deploy without warning. Ph.
Air bag sensing and diagnostic module failed. P/n on item is16238601 with a service number of 09352490. My repair invoice references the following number: 12209720 module. Due to the importance of the item I felt NHTSA should be aware of the failure. Dt.

The air bag deployed when I started the car. Other than the shock of what happened , I only sustained a scratch on my face as a result of the deployment. The dealer want to charge $800 to repair the air bag which seems unfair due to the apparent defect of the air bag system. I reported this incident after seeing action # ea99-026 with a suject of " inadvertent air bag deployment" in your monthly defect investigation report thinking this incident may be related? thanks.
