I took my Cadillac to get a 27 point inspection, oil change, etc. , on 2/16/18, and I was informed that the front seat airbag sensor needed to be replaced because it was not working. 5 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Cadillac CTS

Failure Date: 10/29/2016

The airbag sensor light just came on even though the car has never been in a wreck. Although, this was issued a recall it is only on certain cars of that year. The problem has been acknowledged so not sure why all cars in this year range are not fixed on the recall since this is an acknowledged safety issue. This light comes on as soon as the car is started. Is Cadillac going to take responsibility if the airbag goes off or does not go off in an accident? this is a safety feature that should be fixed by Cadillac.

Passenger airbag sensor light remains lit at all times. Light is supposed to go off after system check. Manual says sensors needs to be serviced or injury may occur during accident due to airbag failure. According to internet Cadillac forums, many drivers are experiencing this same problem and dealers are telling them "it is normal" or charging over $600 to replace sensor that may or may not fix problem. This is very similar to the recall for 2003-2008 Cts's for the same problem. Even older Cts's are experiencing a return of the problem and dealers won't fix them saying the problem was already fixed in the recall. How can gm say a recall was successful when it didn't fix the problem in the cars identified and newer cars are having the same problems. ?.

20 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2005 Cadillac CTS

Failure Date: 02/19/2011

In January I heard there was a recall on the 2005 Cadillac Cts for a possible failure of the passenger seat air bag sensor. In late February while on vacation, the air bag service light came on every time I started my car. I then noticed the passenger air bag on/off message on the rear view mirror showed the air bag was off all the time. Even when someone was in the passenger seat it showed off. Upon returning from vacation in early March, I called the Cadillac dealer where I purchased the vehicle in December 2004 and was told that according to general motors records my vehicle was not involved in the recall for the air bag sensor (10v-644000). I then called Cadillac customer assistance and was told the same thing. I asked why my vehicle was not involved when it appeared I was having the problem addressed in the recall. I was told I could wait to see if it would be in the future and I told the representative that if I waited it would negate the purpose of having a passenger air bag if it would not work. I was told I could have the repairs completed at my expense but as far as they were concerned my vehicle was not in the previously mentioned recall. On March 7, 2001 I had the vehicle check at my local repair shop and they verified the passenger seat occupant sensor had to be replaced. They installed the new module kit and it cost me $451. 78. I called Cadillac customer assistance and was told my vehicle was not involved in the recall even though I had the problem addressed in the recall. I'm seeking reimbursement for repairs that should have been fixed under recall 10v-64000.

My airbag light is on and when I took it to the dealer, the passenger airbag module was gone in it and they refused to repair it cause my warranty was expired and there is no recall on the vehicle. I don't understand its a recall on the 2009 model Cadillac Cts for the airbag but not the 2006. If im in a car accident, it will not deflate.

33 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem of the 2007 Cadillac CTS

Failure Date: 03/01/2009

My car has been confirmed that the frontal sensor/control module does not work again. I had it once repaired due to a recall, I believe in 2009. Now in 2012, I am having another issue with the passenger airbag module, in which needs to be replaced (been confirmed by dealer). This part senses if the passenger is sitting in the car. The light is on telling me the passenger airbag needs service. My brakes are new and have been recently replaced, 2 months ago, but there is an issue with stepping on the brakes. When I do I slide and there is an increase in stopping distance. I almost crashed into an RV, slid 8 feet into an intersection because of this on-going issue. I was told by Cadillac dealer in bellingham, wa. The dealer didn't know why I was sliding but to be sure, it was best to change the brakes. Well, it is happening again. I am wondering if it is a recall. I can physically hear the brakes lock up, makes a grinding like noise, then slides forward. I am scared to drive the car. I am in washington state & the car was purchased in washington state, as well. Is it possible that more state can have the same issues related to the other states affected?.

Multiple service visits with complaints re brakes not working fully, fuel gauge was always incorrect, passenger air bag not working. Air bag sensor was replaced but did not correct the problem. After multiple complaints regarding fuel gauge and several attempts to repair, was told no problem found. Stbility sensor replaced while going thru parking lot at 15 mph, slightly touching the brakes, the cars stability system light came on and the brakes failed. Car did hard right, brakes failed and car ran over curb and into sign. Gm finally repurchsed the vehicle after several miscommunications re the terms of repurchase but refused to cover the damage to the sign and expected me to repair the car before they would purchase.
