Service air bag alert on driver information center came on intermittently from mid-April to may 24, 2018. Took to dealership 5/24/18. Dealer traced, located & repaired high resistance in right front seat side air gab circuit in seat connector at a cost of $168. Dealer said there were no open campaigns on the issue. This is a safety issue that we'd like the ntsb to investigate. As owners, we never removed the seat and, should there have been a crash, the right front passenger side air bag may not have worked.

We keep getting a message on the car screen that the front passenger side airbag is off when the car is started whether someone is sitting in the seat or not. Code is b0092 passenger detection error. Just recently bought car and registered it, Cadillac dealers says no recall for this safety issue. It is in fact an issue if we are in a car accident, the police will ask first thing about the airbag. Just thankful we know about this issue before something ever happens. Code just came up today December 19, 2017.

While driving the vehicle the passenger seatbelt light comes on with or without a passenger being present. I took vehicle to the dealer and was told the passenger detection module was going out and when the seat belt light comes on the passenger side air bags are disabled meaning the airbags will not function if I were to get into an accident. . . . I was also told that this module is necessary because the module detects the weight of the person to determine if the person weighs enough to deploy the airbags. . . If airbags are a requirement should them working also be a requirement. . . . . I was that not enough people have complained for NHTSA to issues a recall. That's like saying not enough people have died to fix the problem.

In December of 2010 there was a recall for the passenger side air bag sensor. That recall was completed on July 7, 2011. I bought this used car with very low mileage on June 15, 2013. On August 7, 2015 the air bag sensor went out. The dealership said that since the recall had already been done they would not do it for free a second time. It sounds to me like the recall was replaced with a faulty part as well. I am very disappointed with this Cadillac and will never buy another one. I have had nothing but problems since I drove it off the lot.

Had just accelerated after stopping at red light, reaching approx 25mph when we heard a very loud grating metal grinding sound. Alarmed we immediately started to pull over when the side airbags deployed. We were able to get out of the flow of traffic and onto the side of the road. We were dazed trying to make sense of what had happened. My husband was the driver and had received a large cut on his left forearm . We had owned this Cts for 10 weeks and had not as yet signed up for onstar . While trying to stop his bleeding I realized that the blow from the airbags had knocked my glasses off and I couldn't find my cell phone, I pushed the onstar button and gave them our information and they could not have been more helpful. After establishing that we were on the side of the road and out of immediate danger they arranged for a tow truck to take us to medved Cadillac. As this was a sat. We were not able to speak with the repair dept. Until mon. We were told that gm had to give approval to repair the vehicle. Eighteen days later 6/26 we picked up the car and were told that the entire car and all systems had been checked and that it was safe. Four days later 6/30 I was driving home and heard a clacking noise. I stopped and looked at my tires thinking I had a flat. Proceeded the few blocks to get home really afraid to get back in this car. We were going to take it back to medved but drove a few blocks from home and stopped at a light. Turned the corner heard a loud metal clunk, felt it on the floorboard as well. Had no acceleration to speak of. I turned on the flashers and tried to get out of traffic. Was able to coast home and call onstar. Spoke to a gm rep at that time and he said to have it towed back to medved. The next day 7/2 we were told that the drive shaft bolts had been sheared off but it was repaired. I refused the car.
The driver side airbag warning signs display remains on for several days. When the breaks are applied there's a slight vibration and grinding sounds.
The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that the rear passenger's side panel that held the air bag came apart. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that the pin that kept the air bag panel in place became loose and caused the failure. The dealer recommended having both rear side air bag pins replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage and current mileages were 54,000.
While starting to back out of my driveway the driver side air bag in headliner deployed.

Our car is experiencing an issue with the passenger side airbag, which matches exactly the description and symptoms in NHTSA campaign id 10v644000 and gm safety recall 100355. The gm dealers keep saying our VIN doesn't match the plant where the cars with the problem airbags were manufactured and will not replace as stated in the recall, but our car has the exact issue as shown in the recall. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ gm subject 10287 concerning timing chain issue. Gm put a band aid fix on this and gave a special warranty to 120,000 to repair any issues with timing chain until 120,000 miles. Our timing chain went out at 121,000 and I feel gm should honor the special warranty. Timing chain issue was not explained to us when the band aid fix was applied and timing chain issue started before 120,000 miles.
Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the front passenger side air bag sensor light had illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who replaced the passenger presence module. The contact indicated that the module was previously replaced under NHTSA campaign number 10v644000 (air bag system). The contact owns a 2003 Cadillac Cts. The contact was driving approximately 55 mph when she attempted to avoid a crash by swerving. The contact crashed into the divider and the frontal land side air bags deployed only partially. In addition, the contact stated that there were holes in the air bags. The contact sustained injuries to the head and a police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the scene and the insurance company deemed it as destroyed. The manufacturer was contacted and they offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 102,000. The VIN was unavailable.
The contact owns a 2006 Cadillac Cts. The contact stated that the passenger's side air bag sensor light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who stated that there was an internal failure with the passenger's side presence module. The vehicle was repaired by replacing the presence module but the failure recurred. The contact notified the manufacturer of the defect. The contact was advised that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 10v644000(air bags) although the contact believed that the vehicle was exhibiting the same defect as listed in the recall. The failure mileage was 57,000.
The accident occurred as a result of evasive action to avoid striking an animal (believed to be a large coyote) that suddenly appeared from the left of us97n north of klamath falls, oregon, a two lane roadway. This action caused the right front wheel to travel to the road shoulder. The shoulder was covered with an accumulation of cinder material used by the state to provide traction on ice and snow. It was built up due to the action of snowplows. (the road was clean and dry at the time of the accident). The wheel sank into the accumulated cinders causing the vehicle to enter a spin and subsequently to roll down an embankment. None of the front or side air bags deployed. Gm's Cadillac division was made aware of this fact and conducting an investigation of their own. They since advised that they were unable to determine a cause for the failure. Air bag deployment would not have prevented the incident but may have lessened the extent of the injuries suffered by the driver and front seat passenger. Post accident photographs, rescue agency reports, police reports and a readout of the vehicle's "black box" computer equipment are available on request. Interestingly enough, an e-mail diagnostics report from the vehicle's on-star system dated June 22, 2010 was received almost four months after the accident stating "no issues found" with the air bag system but that the on-star system, which also failed to function at the time of the accident, required action.
: the contact stated while accelerating at 10mph from a stop light the vehicle was hit on the passenger side. The side air bags did not deploy causing injury to the three occupants of the vehicle. The seat belts were worn and a police report was filed. The insurance agency deemed the vehicle totaled.

Severe side impact, both driver side doors and center pillar crushed. Side air bags did not deploy.
My Cadillac Cts (2003) was hit directly in the drivers door at approximately 50-55 mph and the side impact or curtain air bags did not deploy. The vehicle was pushed so hard, the witness thought it was going to flip over. Cadillac indicated that there was no problem, and the air bags didn't deploy because the sensor did not receive a direct hit. The sensor is located on the door frame between the driver and rear left passenger door. I find it hard to believe that the door was totally smashed in to the drivers seat, the vehicle frame damaged, the window blew out and air bags didn't go off, because the sensor was not hit.
Driver side air bag deployed when the consumer turned the key in the ignition on the 2004 Cadillac Cts. The consumer sustained a broken nose. The air bag deploy inadvertently prior to the consumer receiving the recall notice 05v-024000. The consumer was told that it was going to take a week for the replacement part to arrive at the dealer.
