Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator Problems of Cadillac CTS

The airbag indicator has come on. I own two Cadillac vehicles and coincidentally the escalade has an airbag recall and, the same indicator light has illuminated on both vehicles. I am concerned that this recall is a potential hazard. We live in florida where it's hot, so we constantly drive in the sun. For the recall to be unresolved and now both indicators for airbags are illuminated I believe that this may be apart of this takata issue. This is based upon takata's decision that front passenger airbag inflators it supplied to gm are defective. Gm has submitted to NHTSA a petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA has granted gm until August 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. Over 1 year ago (July 2016) I was notified of a safety recall of airbag inflators can degrade in hot humid areas. I live in texas where it's currently over 105 degrees. The notification states I will be notified when parts are available. Now I see a year later there is no remedy for this problem.

Takata inflators. I have a loud cracking noise in several places behind the dash. Sometimes it happens when the car is still but mostly while driving on interstates. The loudest cracking noise is in the center of the dash. With the takata airbag recall I am afraid that this could be part of that. The car only has 11,000miles on it but the cracking has occurred since the car was new.
