While pulling off road into car wash, brake pedal traveled to floor without braking action. After inspecting, found that brake pedal mechanism had disconnected from push rod to master cylinder. As a result, no brakes were available to control speed other than the emergency brakes.

2 Brake Master Cylinder problem of the 2004 Cadillac Deville

Failure Date: 03/16/2005

While backing out of a parking space driver applied the brakes and the pedal went to the floor. Vehicle was unable to stop. Driver shifted the vehicle into drive and turned the vehicle off. Then, restarted it, and drove to the dealer. Mechanic determined that the master cylinder and other parts needed to be replaced. Driver informed the mechanic that this problem happened more than once and had not been resolved.
