Serious fault with 2000 Cadillac Deville engine. The vehicle would stall as the vehicle entered traffic. The problem was diagnosed as a j4355 sensor/crankshaft position sensor, which was replaced on two occasions.
Dt: consumer states that the vehicle stalls at low rpm's. When this happens the power steering goes out. The dealership states that it is caused by failed crank sensors a and b. Consumer states that this has happened many times and he has replaced the sensors three times. The part numbers that replaced the parts the first two times were a 00012559529-b 00012559530 and the third time the part number a 00012575481-b 00012575482.
Vehicle will stall in traffic without any warning lights. Consumer stated this happened at about 35 mph. Dealer couldn't duplicate the problem.
First time the car was started it bolted and I thought it was going through the wall,. Took it to the dealer and he said it takes 30 sec. To warm up before you put it into gear. Would be thrilled if it took 30 sec. It takes up to and over 2 min. Before rpm's are safe to engage. Terrible odor while driving on the freeway. Dealer says, with all complaints " thats the way the car was designed" this vehicle has a rough idle at some stop signs and has stalled several times. Will restart. All engine starts require at least 1 to 2 min before engine rpm's come down to 850 rpm. Otherwise the vehicle jumps, not jerks. Very dangerous situation.

Vehicle stalls randomly.
While driving at any speed the vehicle will shut down without prior warning. Dealer installed a black box, and the consumer stated that in cold weather can't put gas into the gas tank due to the cover and cap freezing up. Also, windshield wipers don't work. The button for the high and low works but nothing else. When vehicle stalls all electrical power is lost including brakes and steering. Vehicle is back in shop, and the dealer can't determine the problem.
Vehicle vibrates and stalls while idling at traffic lights, engine has started itself on one incident and moves backwards when engine is off, unable to determine failure.
2001 Cadillac Deville has a stalling problem. Consumer wants to know why gm has not issued a recall for this problem. The consumer was told that one of the two crankshaft sensors appeared to be the reason for the stalling, but the consumer would be responsible for the cost of the repair.
