The contact owns a 2004 Cadillac Deville. While the dealer was performing an oil change on the vehicle, a leaking gasket was discovered coming from the bottom part of the engine. The current mileage was 90,000 and failure mileage was 50,000. Updated 08/04/08.
During routine service the mechanic discovered that the mid engine gasket was leaking. This is a 2001 Deville with the northstar engine and only 48,000 miles on the odometer. I have done some research and know that this is an ongoing issue with that engine. I was also informed that it could cause a fire. In order to correct this , I must pay the dealer $2,000. 00 as they have to tear the whole front end of the car apart to get to the problem area. This is an issue which should encourage a recall.
