Brakes Failed Problems of Cadillac SRX

While driving , if I slide on ice , mud or gravel while driving , the brake pedal pulses then goes almost to the floor then it comes back up to normal pedal position and if you press it to slow down the pedal is spongy and goes almost to the floor with very little stopping power. After car sits parked it seems to repair itself. Repairing itself might take a couple hours or one to two days. I am unable to drive this car when brakes fail. I just keep checking for when my brakes come back, then I drive. This has now happened 4 times in 2 yrs. The Cadillac technitions are unable to find problem. No codes showing in diagnostic testing. Please help me figure out what's wrong. This car is a big safety hazard. It needs solved and fixed. Thank you.

The brakes randomly fail. When depressing the brake, it will be spongy and the pedal will go all the way to the floor without fully stopping the car. If the brakes are pumped, they usually return to normal. When researching this online, it became apparent that this is a common problem, and after speaking to Cadillac, my impression is that they are not proactively trying to solve this potentially life threatening design flaw.

The brakes on my Srx fail to operate when you push on them it feels like you have brakes and you feel a pressure on the pedal but the car doesn't stop there's a delayed response and it happens at random I've owned many vehicles in excessive 30 vehicles I have been a car salesman for 10 years and I have never experienced a car like this it has break fade or or ghost breaks I have had an accident because of this and ran into the back of a vehicle but in addition of that I have run into the back of vehicles on four occasions with this vehicle currently I own three vehicles and this is the only vehicle I've ever had an accident in and now I've had four incidents of bumping another vehicle even while parallel parking because the car doesn't stop additionally I had a friend of mine with over 30 yr in the car business drive the car and he has the same problem I've looked online now and I found that many people have this problem this is a serious safety issue I don't understand why this hasn't been fixed and everyone takes it to the dealer and the dealer tells me your brakes are fine there's a problem in their software for the anti-lock brakes and it doesn't apply the brakes when you think they're on their not.

I was pulling out of a parking lot into city traffic when the brakes in my 2012 Cadillac Srx failed. I ended up rear ending another vehicle at a very slow speed. When we pulled off to the side of the road I had to pump the brakes to get the car to stop. There were no physical injuries as I was maybe going 2 or 3 mph. We exchanged insurance information. I notified my insurance of the claim as well. I had bought my daughter a 2010 Cadillac Srx when I bought mine and 6 weeks ago she had the same problem with brake failure but she was able to pump the brakes to get her car to stop. We took her car to st. Claire Cadillac in santa clara and they could not find anything wrong and no error codes were identified in the on board computer. I searched the web and there are multiple incidences of this problem occurring with Cadillac Srx models but Cadillac will not fix this problem. I do not know if this problem has resulted in any deaths if so the driver may not have been able to report the incident. Cadillac needs to do something about this! needless to say I will be selling my Srx and buying a Toyota.

My brakes failed as I was driving the car, I had just made a u turn and was parking in a parking space on a city street when the brakes failed. The pedal went to the floor and did not stop the car. Although, I pumped the brakes nothing happened. Praise the lord jesus I was going very slow as there was septa bus behind me and car in front of me.

My Cadillac Srx (purchased 4/2/2004, mileage 34,599) suffered a complete hydraulic brake failure. This occurred in a parking lot, at low speed and there were no injuries or damage. The car was towed to the dealer who repaired the brakes under warranty. The dealer stated that both hydraulic circuits had failed and the only braking was the parking brake.
