The low beam lights are so dim you can not see 5 feet in front of you. It’s a danger to me on the road with the low beams on and to other drivers if I have my high beams on.

I recently notice that I had very little light on the low beam of my headlights. Cannot see the road unless on high beam. Dealership said it is a problem that they have had with the Srx and have replaced so many 'headlight assembly's' that they now carry them in stock. Since you can't drive with the high beams on in traffic I feel this is a failure of the model and can only be fixed by replacement. . . Quote of $1750. 00.

Lights became so dim it was impossible to see at night. I replaced the bulbs multiple times with no remedy. I also had the outer shell cleaned which still did not help. I had to finally have the whole assembly replaced.
The headlights are very dim it is like driving your vehicle with a flashlight as the lighting. When you turn on bright lights you can see good but your then endangering drivers going the opposite directions it is very dangerous. If you reserch this issue on the internet it is a well lnown problem. How can people drive their cars like this. I did inquire with gm and they said they did at one time reimburse owners to get headlights replaced but that offer expired well there are people out there driving these dangerous cars that were not notified of this. I would invite anyone to drive one of these cars and see how bad it is. It is very urgent that someone look at this problem I have seen where there have been recalls over 10 years old . I am trying to get across how dangerous this cars lights are. Please someone look into this sincerely sue lanford lance lanford I dont know if NHTSA can or would get the media to film the lighing on these vehicles.

There is a known safety issue with the factory headlights as they are far too deem at night. Unsafe to drive. I had to pay money out of my pocket to replace the headlights as Cadillac no longer replaces them. There should be a permanent recall and coverage for this. Please investigate this issue as this should not be something an owner should have to pay when it clearly is an issue with the manufacturer.
Head light brightness detiorates over time to the point that entire assembly must be replaced for $2000 or more common problem with Cadillac SUV for several years.
The headlamps were replaced in 2020 (vehicle recall), and I was reimbursed for the replacement. The headlamps are now, again, dim and ineffective at night.
Headlights full of condensation, dirty foggy lense, not enough illumination. Bulbs burning out and have become so dim you can't drive at night and not at all in the rain. Very dangerous. November 24, 2023. Purchased car used in October 2023, and did not drive other than during day light. Took car on a 7 hour trip to uniontown, PA from virginia beach. Could not see the road after 5 pm. It was dark and raining. I had to slow down to a stop in the road until passing cars went by. The headlights on the Srx were so dim I could not see the sides of road or the lines painted on road. I contacted Cadillac customer service and they told me take it to dealer to get assessment and not to drive at night in the meantime. My ability to see the road was impossible. I had to practically stopped briefly in the road as oncoming cars passed by. I could only guess that I was still on the road until another car approached from behind to illuminate the road in front of me. It was very dangerous. I am a seasoned driver and I have a older 04 Srx that has original lights and no issues like this 2015 model. Very bad parts. The headlights are a dangerous driving hazard to both driver, passengers, oncoming cars and cars following if in the road at night. Gm needs to do a recall and replace these lights with aftermarket product. Bad manufacturing has made even the oem replacement unsatisfactory. They will just go bad again.
I almost drove off the road one night because my headlights were so dim on my 2015 Cadillac Srx are so dim at night you can't see anything properly. I had to put on my high beams to even see. I purchased this vehicle used and missed the short period they would replace them. Cadillac has refused to help with this dangerous issue and it's apalling how much money the dealership wants to replace them.
The contact owns a 2015 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds during the night, the headlights were dark and failed to provide adequate lighting to safely drive. The driver utilized the high-beam headlights, but there was still inadequate lighting. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered to help with the repairs. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
Just bought this vehicle and it is undrivable at night due to the dim low beam headlights. This seams to be a problem with these vehicles from 2010 to 2016. I called gm customer service and was given a number for gm analytics (1-888-305-1605), the recording states that the time to be reimbursed has passed and that they are no longer taking any further claim submissions. Gm has settled class action lawsuits in florida and California for this issue and sent letters to some Srx owners offering reimbursement for repairs.
I had a headlight go out so I purchased new bulbs had both of them installed, low beams … and I still can’t see in the dark even after having my outside lamps detailed and cleaned. I have to drive with my high beams on in the dark. This needs to be a recall , something is not right with the lights on this vehicle. So now I just try not to drive at night which is hard with the time.
The headlights failed to provide enough light to see the road at night. This, of course, is dangerous when driving on the highway or country roads as we are unable to maintain the speed required on the highway in order to safely navigate the turns in the road, which could also cause a disruption in the traffic flow, possibly causing an accident if other cars were not expecting a slower vehicle on the road. Not to mention not being able to see any wildlife in the road in enough time to react. The problem, to my knowledge, has not been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center prior to our purchase of the vehicle. We have discussed the issue with the dealer but the service manager is unable to comment on the matter or any type of solution. The vehicle or component has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were not any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. It first appeared the first night time drive after purchasing the vehicle, used, in 2021. We had discussions with the dealer's service department and they would not speak to any "known" issue. We performed an on-line research that showed that there was a problem with the lighting system and gm decided to not issue a recall. I believe for a short time there was compensation provided for those that complained, but that time is long gone. These cars are still on the market and without a resolution to fix this issue there can be an accident or even death in an accident.

I purchased my 2015 Cadillac Srx a year ago from a private car dealer and of course he never told me about the headlight issue. I purchased two different types of bulbs and paid to have them installed and there are not bright enough just like other people with the same problem I can't see at night and here in maine it gets dark by 4:00 and driving at night is so very scary. I am a single women and this vehicle is my ream car. I feel gm needs to fix this issue free of charge!! please help me thank you - karen leigh 207-344-4002.
Headlights are extremely dim. Huge safety hazard that gm should be held accountable for.
Unbeknownst to me, the 2010-2015 Cadillac Srx is prone to moisture in the headlights. We just bought a used 2015, and as night came, we went for our first evening drive, and the low beams are extremely dangerously dim. It looks like they weren’t even on. Searching the internet on how to fix the problem, I came across what seems to be a ridiculous amount of unsatisfied customers with the same problem and Cadillac refusing to help or recall with a different replacement, since replacing with the same damaged part, just happens again with the moisture problem. There’s even been a lawsuit, which was thrown out by the judge. If a driver has a blown bulb anywhere in their car, they are given a warning to replace or a ticket if they don’t. How do we replace something that’s going to fail again, because of a defective manufacturer part? doesn’t seem fair, and I for one will be driving with my high beams, so that I can see at night, after spending my hard earned money on what I think is a great and reliable car made by a company like Cadillac. Very disappointing to read all the neglected customers just trying to have a defective part be recalled and made right by such a huge company. There was also a reimbursement program that people struggled with getting reimbursed if it wasn’t done exactly how they stated. This need your attention please. Cadillac/gm needs to recall all Srx headlights and replace with newer and non defective ones before someone gets killed because of the dangers of extremely low dimming and defective lighting safety first.
Headlamps are defective very dim and can not drive vehicle at night. Dealer confirmed widespread issue that Cadillac has failed to resolve. Dealer stated some letters were sent to limited owners and reimbursement for replacement. But not to all owners. Safety hazard when driving during rain or evenings.
Projection lense for low beam is very dim. Unable to see road work low beam head light.

The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed at night, she became aware that the passenger side head lamp was not functioning. Upon replacing the headlamp, it still failed to function properly. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 138,000.
The intensity of headlights on this vehicle is dangerously low. When searching for a solution on light, I found that this particular problem was the subject of class-action lawsuit. I am the original owner of this vehicle. I was not informed or part of this lawsuit. Now I am told that it will cost $2. 500 to replace the headlamps because moisture that leaks into the light housing has caused the lights to dim. Driving at night is now increasingly dangerous. Apparently, Cadillac has recognized this as a problem through the lawsuit. Loyal owners like myself need to have this problem corrected at no cost because it is a recognized part defect.
Subject: urgent safety complaint - 2016 Cadillac Srx headlight performance national highway traffic safety administration (NHTSA) office of defects investigation (odi) vehicle identification number (VIN): 3gyfnbe37gs525354 dear national highway traffic safety administration, I am writing to submit a formal safety complaint regarding a critical issue with the headlights of my 2016 Cadillac Srx. My name is matt keleshian, and I believe there may be a safety-related defect in the vehicle's design or manufacturing. Despite replacing the bulbs and personally funding a comprehensive cleaning and resurfacing of the headlight covers, the performance of the headlights has significantly deteriorated. Through extensive research, I have found that numerous owners share similar concerns, indicating a potential widespread issue that may be linked to a manufacturing defect. This matter is of great concern, especially considering the safety implications associated with diminished visibility during nighttime driving. The reflective surfaces within the headlight housing appear to be degrading, affecting not only my vehicle but potentially posing a safety risk to other owners of the 2016 Cadillac Srx. As a responsible consumer and a parent of a 15-month-old child, my top priority is the safety of my family. Nighttime driving has become increasingly worrisome due to the compromised visibility, prompting me to bring this matter to the attention of the national highway traffic safety administration for further investigation. I kindly request the NHTSA's office of defects investigation to thoroughly review this safety complaint and take appropriate actions to ensure the safety of all affected consumers. I have included my contact information and relevant vehicle details for your reference. Thank you for your prompt attention to this matter. I trust that the NHTSA will undertake the necessary steps to investigate and address this potential safety issue promptly. Sincerely, matt k.

The contact 's wife owns a 2016 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated while driving at various speeds at night, the low beam headlights were significantly dim, which affected the visibility of the roadway. There was no warning light illuminated. The dealer and the manufacturer were not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 70,000. The VIN was unavailable.
We have a 2016 Srx awd Cadillac and we can not drive at night, the head light is way to dim, and when placing on high beam - blind oncoming cars "ai info: if you can’t see well at night and your 2016 Cadillac Srx has factory hid headlights, there's a chance that faded lenses, worn bulbs, or a defective ballast is the issue—and gm/Cadillac may or may not cover it".
The headlights in low beam mode no longer are bright enough to safely see or be properly seen at night. This problem is documented by many owners of this same vehicle and similar Cadillac vehicles, and many videos are available on youtube documenting this as a fact as a frequent problem by all owners. It is being ignored and needs to be addressed. There is apparently even a class action lawsuit for the 2016 Srx. A video exists that shows the problem is the inside reflective material is being burned out due to heat of the bulbs making the surface no longer reflective. Drivers end up keeping high beams on at all times which blinds other drivers and this can lead to many vehicle accidents with property damage, injury and deaths. There needs to be a recall and replacement of the entire housing and then use low heat led bulbs or a new type reflective surface inside that will not degrade as is commonly happening. The vehicle was in this condition when I first purchased it used. I was unaware for a long time due to not driving it at night. I have now had to drive several times at night and found it to be very unsafe to use because of the headlight problems. I researched and easily found hundreds of the same complaint. How about actually do something about this and not just ignore it before someone you personally care about gets hurt because of an accident. I will be contacting the dealership but doubt they will do anything. No one wants to accept responsibilty because of the costs, but the cost of ignoring it can be very high.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the headlights failed to provide adequate illumination while driving at night without warning. The contact stated that the high-beam headlights were needed while driving at night. The dealer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was later informed that the vehicle was out of warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.
Left front signal light and right rear signal, other vehicle's cannot see where I am turning, yes where I have my oil changed did their inspection, no problem with the bulbs. Yes a mechanic, when turn on the signal to turn right the information center said that the back rear signal had failed and when turning left the information center said the front left signal failed.
The contact owns a 2014 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle at night the low beam headlight illumination was extremely dim and created a visibility hazard for the driver. The cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer and manufacturer were notified of the failure but no assistance was issued. The failure mileage was 45,000.
Normal headlight illumination is insufficient and dangerous to see safely ahead. I must always use bright lights to see.
The headlights on Cadillac Srx are defective and Cadillac will not have a recall. The lights are so dim I have to drive with my brights on, which is dangerous to other drivers. If I do not use the high beams, I am not able to see what is on the side of the road at night. There could be a person, other vehicle, etc. Therefore an accident could occur or someone could be injured. Cadillac was assisting with repair costs but that ended a couple years ago and I did not know about it as I did not receive a letter. This is a known defect and many people have expressed concern (I found a forum discussion online regarding this issue). My dealer has quoted a price of $2131. 39 to replace the headlight assembly. I would appreciate review of this safety issue with this vehicle.
The headlights are so dim that the Cadillac Srx is unsafe to drive at night. The dealer says that it is a known defect but will only give a small discount to replace the headlight assemblies. These cars are unsafe at any speed ! this car has been garage kept and is very low mileage. Please respond to this. Thanks !.
The housing for the drive lights have failed. Replacing the bulbs does not resolve the problem. Cadillac wants to replace the entire unit because the plastic reflector has failed. Lots of Cadillac owners reporting this problem on the internet. Cadillac used an inexpensive plastic part that creates high risk when it fails. This is happening not just to the Srx, but to many gm models. Please see the video. . . Https://youtu. Be/i7gkpcgaee0?t=742.
Low beam headlights are so dim it is extremely dangerous to operate during dark hours. Purchased this car this date from charlottesville Mercedes Benz.
Vehicle low beam headlights are extremely dim, so dim that to see property at night, the high beam lights must be used constantly. This blinds oncoming traffic and risks a head on collision. General motors will not replace the headlight assembly. The low beam headlight assembly interior housing is coated with a shiny reflective plastic material. Over time, the heat from the halogen bulb degrades this plastic coating, burning it off. See this yt video here at the 12:13 mark to have a very good understanding. The man disassembles the housing and shows exactly what the problem is. Https://youtu. Be/i7gkpcgaee0?t=733.
The headlights are failing despite replacing the bulbs. The vehicle can not be driven at night. The bulbs were replaced by a mechanics shop. There has been no warning light or error messages on the dashboard.
Both headlights are filled with condensation which makes driving the car not too good at night getting concerned that they might go out at night due to a short or something cuz of the water.
