Headlights: it is available for inspection upon request. There have been no accident so far, however you cannot drive at night due to low beam of headlights are so very dim that it is an absolute hazard to be out on the road and deal with oncoming vehicles because you cant see. When asking a dealer representative about my headlight issue, he stated it would cost around $1500, as these were very expensive headlights and would take several days to get them in. Another person told me it would only last a few days, if replaced and then the same issue would occur. It seemed to be dimming all of a sudden, happened on the way home from church 1 month ago, as my husband and I were returning home. They both are still very dim and I think for the price we paid for our new vehicle in 2017, we should not be having this conversation. Cadillac dealership told us it would cost $1500 for headlights. No warning lamps or messages occurred.

Problem: low beam headlights on 2014 Cadillac Srx: with age, the low beam headlights become too dim to drive at night even though there is nothing wrong with the actual headlight bulb. The problem is related to the materials and design of the Cadillac Srx headlight assemblies. The reflector of the low beam headlight is made of plastic with a chrome coating. The heat of the oem bulb deteriorates the chrome coating on the reflector until it appears as the dull white color of the plastic base material. Without the chrome coating the low beam headlights are very dim. Replacing the headlight bulb will not remedy the situation. The only fix is to replace the entire headlight assembly and this is usually done at a dealership because the whole front grill/bumper must be removed). During 2019 and 2020 Cadillac had a reimbursement program for people that complained or owners that received letters about the program which was handled by a 3rd party. There had been complaints to Cadillac about these low output headlights but they kept this problem out of the public realm by quietly settling with those customers. The estimate I received today from everett Chevrolet-Cadillac in hickory nc was $1900 to replace both headlight assemblies with factory original parts. I spoke to Cadillac customer care today and they said they may possibly assist in the replacement but I would have to submit a written estimate to them for review. If Cadillac is not responsible for this problem then why have they paid for replacements in the past and why will they consider paying for them now on a case by case basis? these aging Cadillac Srx models are not safe to be on the roads with these dim low beam headlights. Owners either have to be very careful or use their high beam headlights in night time traffic.

I have several recalls that were not done to my vehicle. I moved around alot and when I asked the dealer, they said no. I found out that I paid for some of my recalls including the latest one with my headlights/ headlamps. They have been an issue for many years with water, moisture, the dealership said wear and tear , not so, faulty from all the complaints world-wide. I had purchased my vehicle straight up from the dealership in 2011. I have been the only driver and owner of my vehicle. Can you please help me recover all the recalls for my vehicle so my car can get fixed. Thanks again in advanced.
I have been having problems with my headlights since the day it first rained and I purchased my vehicle. Now the lights have dimmed all the way down and flicker as I drive at night can't see anything. I have replaced numerous bulbs and fuses to no avail. The seats act weird when you set them for yourself or another driver. The wipers barley work its like driving trying to kill yourself or someone else.

Headlights when on dim do not light up the roadway. The vehicle is not safe to drive at night unless you drive with the high beams on which of course infuriates oncoming traffic. If you look on the internet, you will find that most Cadillac Srx from 2010 through 2016 have this problem, yet no recall. Why?.
No headlights at night. Have to use the high beams and they are dim. Took it back to Cadillac and they were aware of the situation and that there is no recall!????!!! more than willing to repair the vehicle for $2000. 00. Never would have expected this out of Cadillac. Or NHTSA for that matter. How do you safely drive a vehicle at night with no headlights? why is there no official recall on this problem?.
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while driving at night the low-beam headlights failed to provide adequate illumination causing a visibility hazard to the driver. My headlights are seriously dim and the vehicle is not safe to drive at night. I have almost hit a person crossing a street that under normal lighting I would have seen. This issue is known by gm but they wont recall. You can change bulbs but it doesnt help. It takes replacing the entire assembly with after market parts because gm parts are faulty. This is extremely costly and requires the front end of the car be disassembled. They wint even cover under warranty / extended warranty.
Purchased a 2015 Cadillac Srx 10-9-2020. After driving for several weeks, noticed driving at night was hard to see, as low beam headlights were very dim. Took to an auto shop who inspected and suggested headlight bulbs be replaced. Drove a couple of nights and still had low visibility. Took back to auto shop and after an intense inspection, discovered the entire headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. Looking on the internet, we discovered this is a problem with many other Cadillac Srxs. I wrote a letter to gm describing my safety concerns with the vehicle. I was contacted by a customer service person, who in turn, put me in contact with a local Cadillac dealer. The dealer then put me through to their service rep, who told me they could do nothing for me, that the warranty had expired. All repair work would be out of pocket. The service rep told me that gm had sent out letters to Cadillac owners regarding the headlight repairs, and that the time had expired. I told him I didn't own the car at that time, so I was unaware of any letter, and the previous owner evidently didn't have it repaired. The cost to replace the both headlight assemblies is $1,950. 00. Since this is a major safety problem of driving at night with low visibility, I am requesting that NHTSA help go to battle with gm and demand a recall to fix this problem on all Cadillac Srx vehicles before there are accidents, or worse yet, a death, caused from the lack of visibility while driving at night. This problem should not be. Gm should not even think twice about repairing a car that defective components have been discovered on their cars. Nhtsa, please help us!.
The vehicle is dangerous to drive at night due to incredibly dim headlights that have become progressively dimmer overtime. Visibility at night is the equivalent of driving with parking lights on. Traveling on roads with higher speeds increases the risk as it's impossible not to overdrive your headlights. If it is raining at night, visibility is reduced to almost zero. After much research, it appears to be an ongoing problem for many owners of this make/model/yr. The entire headlamp housing needs to be recalled as it is defective, making the vehicle unsafe to operate.
The headlights are very dim they say the whole headlight assembly is bad the reflective coating burns due to the temp of the hailogen head lights this is a knowen problem with the caddy Srx.
Gradual dimming of headlight low beams over time, making them completely useless & unsafe at night. Must drive using high beams at all times. Safety hazard. (same issue as gm 2010-15 model litigation). Required to replace headlight assembly $2200. Contacted gm, who confirmed there is not yet a recall or lawsuit to reimburse for 2016 or later model repairs for the same known headlight failure as earlier models.
In the past months, we have noticed that it seemed our headlights did not seem like they were on when driving at night. We have gotten out of our car numerous times to check and make sure that the lights are actually on. Most recently when driving on a two lane road, the headlights seemed to flash and then make a number of flashing on and off movements. Being that this was a road with no other lighting and our bright lights did not come on, it was very dangerous. I could not see ahead of me and it was raining. There were cars behind me and I couldn't see the road ahead of me. My husband talked to a mechanic and he said that there has been other Cadillac owners with headlight issues. This needs to be addressed as it could cause a serious accident.
Headlight bulbs replaced still not working unable to see when dark.
