Structure Problems of Cadillac SRX

The contact owns a 2012 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that the rubber tubing around the sunroof was allowing water to leak into the vehicle. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where the vehicle was inspected but not diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rubber tubing had shrunk and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage 110,000.

The contact owns a 2016 Cadillac Srx. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, she could not see out of the rear window. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that condensation had accumulated on the inside of the rear window. The contact also discovered that he was unable to open the rear hatch from the outside and had to use a screwdriver to open the hatch. Once opened, he discovered that the spare tire and rear side compartments were all filled with water. The rear hatch module was also submerged in water which led to the hatch failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was given a case number. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 21,000.

Tl the contact owns a 2011 Cadillac Srx. While the vehicle was stationary and while driving various speeds, water entered the front passenger side of the vehicle from underneath the dashboard. An unknown Cadillac dealer in reedsburg, wisconsin was made aware of the failure, but could not determine the source of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 85,000.

2012 Cadillac Srx. Consumer writes in regards to ignition switch malfunction. The consumer stated there was no fail safe, chime or timed shutoff once he left the vehicle. On several occasions, the consumer returned to his vehicle to find the vehicle running and the garage full of fumes. The steering wheel and windshield blocked the view of the engine start/stop button. Which has resulted in the consumer leaving the engine running on numerous occasions. The consumer stated the start button should be moved to the left or right or up or down , in order to be visible from the driver's seat.

2011 Cadillac Srx. Consumer states that the blind spot off the right quarter panel has almost caused him to be in three accidents.

Wide a- pillars restrict forward visibility. I have had near accidents by pulling out in front of vehicle which was blocked from view by a-pillar.

2010 Cadillac Srx. Consumer writes in regards to driver side frame blocking the view of the roadway when making a left turn the dealer did agree, there was a blind spot. However, there was no remedy.

The contact owns a 2011 Cadillac Srx. The contact was driving 35 mph when he noticed several blind spots that interfered while the contact attempted to change lane. The manufacturer was contacted but advised there was nothing that could be done. There were no repairs. The failure mileage was 2,300. The VIN was not available.

Went through the car wash. During final stage (wind to blow off moisture) windshield header flew off car. After inspection it was revealed that the only method of attachment to the vehicle was double sided tape. This is unacceptable especially given the location of the piece where there is a lot of wind (front of roof).

While in a locked garage overnight the middle glass panel of the sunroof shattered and tossed glass pieces all over the top of the car and the garage floor on both sides of the car. Nothing had dropped or hit the roof panels that would have caused it to shatter.

That did not remedy the issue and water continued accumulating in the vehicle. This has occurred three times and the dealerships has not been able to remedy the issue. The contact tried to return the vehicle and the dealerships refuses to take the vehicle back. The current mileage was 11,000 and the failure mileage was 54.
