Two problems related to brake antilock wheel speed sensor have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While driving about 50 mph applied brakes, pedal went to floor, applied brakes again pedal would not go down. Applied brakes again, abs light came on, at that time no abs braking action. Dealer found right front speed sensor to be at fault.
When applying the brakes, the pedal goes to the floor and abs brakes failed. Consumer states on three separate occasions in no abs situations, consumer went to brake at a stop light and brake pedal went to the floor, consumer took vehicle in for inspection 3 times but was advised there were no signs of trouble, the 3rd time they found tire speed sensor was not positioned the correct distance from the tire.
