Five problems related to brake disc rotor have been reported for the 1996 Chevrolet Blazer. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
About 1/4 to 1/2 of one side of one of the front rotor surfaces was partially corroded away. In my opinion this would have seriously affected braking in an emergrncy stop. Photographs of the rotor and the rotor itself are availble for inspection.
Brake rotors failed.
The front rotors were rusted through, causing increased stopping distance, and the truck has abs brakes.
Front disc brake rotors failed.
Right front disc rotor has excessive wear for no reason. Owner is very concerned for safety. Cause of rotor failure unknown.
