Power accessory circuit breaker becomes hot, and then power seats, door locks, mirrors and keyless entry do not work. This existed when I purchased the vehicle in April 2008. I tried replacing the circuit breaker. Also, the power mirror on the passenger side was damaged and was removed, so this may not be the same issue as the recall on the mirrors = to install fused jumper harness. ).

The contact owns a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that the vehicle has a relay fuse that becomes hot after driving for a while. The failure was noticed while driving 15 mph and causes the seat adjuster and door lock not to work. She stated that it becomes very hot and she can feel it on the cover of the fuse box. She is afraid that it may cause a fire. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The mechanic touched the fuse box and was burned. She was informed that the failure was caused by a shortage somewhere in the vehicle. The contact feels that it is a safety issue and should not have to pay for the repair. The current mileage was 103,000 and failure mileage was 98,000. Updated 09/12/07.

Wiring bundle holder above transmission one of which goes to the transmission switch fails and lets wiring bundle fall on transmission and rubs the coating off of the wiring causing electical shorts; daylight headlights, transmission failure ( nothing wrong with transmission)interior lighting goes out or stays on all the time causing battery to go dead overnight, burning of wiring especially under dash and at fuse box and transmission switch (no fire resulted, unhooked battery removed fuses, and had wire replaced to transmission switch then trasmission worked; no failure of swicth just wiring, wiper and night light failures and more. Transmission auto repair says it is number 1 failure and happens all the time. The dealer said I needed a new transmission. This is a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer. I still have electral problems I have to get fixed. Some recalls were made on this auto that may be due to this shortage caused by wiring bundle falling above the transmission.

Horn continuously fails to work. 1st repair on 8/22 - 2nd on 11/7. They tell me each time they have to reconnect wires in steering wheel. The 3rd fix will cost me ~$379. 00 (they said they will not fix it again free - I will have to replace wheel & column) why do the wires keep coming unconnected? it's bad to press the horn and it does not work.

Doesn't want to stand behind their product. We are out of a vehicle, but the insurance people will give what they think the inside is worth. Would you want to drive something that nearly killed your family? doesn't chev. Believe in family and safety?.
