The contact owns a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer. The contact stated that the engine failed on three different occasions. After waiting 5-10 minutes, the vehicle restarted. I own a 2000 chevy Blazer and when it rains the brakes go out the vehicle will not stop the pedal won't go to the floor and it when you try to push the breaks it makes a funny clicking kind of noise and the pedal just hops not letting you break. Then when you take off after you stopped (by the emergency break)the back end slides sideways like the front breaks are locked up. I almost killed myself and my kids because I couldn't stop! that is extremely dangerous! it only happens when it rains or go through water. Others with the same kind of vehicle said the had that problem as well.
Caller stated that vehicle was in park with the ignition off, and about fifteen minutes after caller parked the car, someone notified him that the vehicle was on fire and burning heavily. Fire seemed to be confined to the engine compartment. Caller speculated that the fire began on the passenger's side of the engine compartment. By the time the fire department showed up, the fire was put out through the application of water.

I have multiple complaints, the gas gauge on my vehicle stop working and I ran out of gas in the middle of the street when I realized problem 2 the rear brake lights and hazard lights do not work. The other problem is the vehicle stalls, and when it finally take off, the car jerks and the driver seat moves/slides back from the hinges which caused me to not be able to reach my breaks and run into a curb. Also the driver side door sticks and is difficult to open. Lastly the wheel baring and ball joints have gone bad twice and the car has less then 75000 miles on it. I called gm customer service department and explained all of my concerns and was told they we not aware of any nationwide problem and there was nothing they could do except fix the hazard light malfunction. I researched on the net and found many many people complaining of the same concerns I have.
Vehicle shut down in heavy traffic on interstate at 60 mph,had to drift to side of road, panel lights came on including security light, would not restart. Had vehicle towed to dealer who checked it out next morning. Started right up and could find nothing wrong. Had happened before but occured in parking lot and started back up. This is a very dangerous situation when it occurs in heavy traffic. No engine, loss of power steering etc. Have seen many similar complaints on internet and have heard of others. No one seems to have an answer, including dealer. Wonder how many people may have been killed by this but are not around to tell what happened. All I want is to have it fixed.

Faulty windshield wiper motor. The motor continues to run but the wipers do not move. Have to get out of car & manually try to get them moving. Also the key gets stuck in the ignition. Have had this fixed @ 1 yr. Ago but started happening again. Does not seem as bad in the real cold weather.
With ignition failure, vehicle ceased to operate. Fortunately location was a low volume road.

Vehicle shuts off while driving and/or won't start from time to time. Electrical component has been replaced but it was discovered to be the wrong part. It was later replaced after rear wind shield wiper wouldn't start. To date the problem has reoccurred. Dt.
A spark plug electrode punched a hole through piston, which caused an engine failure while driving. Dealer / manufacturer notified, and unwilling to assist in this matter. Consumer states he has photos of the disassembled motor showing the damage.
We are insurance company that settled total loss. We are seeking information about reported problems, recalls, TSB's or customer complaints. Please advise. No safety defect mentioned.
Entire radiator system replaced, 4 mos later entire engine replaced, 7 days later, distributor replaced. No diagnosis for any of these problems. Closed dexcool radiator system was filled with black syrup and had no fluid but showed no signs of leaking!? engine lost power and sputtered prior to engine replacement(which may have been unneccessary!) and showed identical symptoms 7 days later, for which a distributor replacement fixed symtoms. Now my "service engine soon" light is on for my engine with 600 miles on it! I am getting a 3rd dealer's opinion today. Please help if you can.

The truck stall when driving sometimes or wont start , the driver side seat belt locks you in, the truck locks down on you locking you in of out, the headlights will come of and on, the alarm goes of , the gas gauge does not keep right amont of gas, the engin light will not go of and not it seems to be making a ratteling sound.
Engine will shut off at random as if the ignition has been quickly turned off (or the electrical system has quickly shut down), which is a cause of major concern to me as I have to pull to the roadside without power brakes or steering which have failed too (without any power). Reading reports from other people here, it appears to be a common complaint, and I would like to know if anyone has had a resolution to this problem. I have not been to the dealer yet, but I will be going in there in the near future and would like to give them an idea of what engine or electrical component is the problem. Thank you.
Vehicle stalls at all speeds, loses all power.
Intermittently, while driving the vehicle at any speed, the Blazer dies. The Blazer has been to dealership 5 or 6 times for this problem. The egr valve was cleaned once and changed. The computer replaced twice, and a new coil wire replaced. Consumer still experiencing problem with Blazer.
