1 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 03/22/2016

After putting gas in my car 1 mile down the road my engine started to knock I took it to the mechanic he said engine was bad I called gm for help I was under the hundred thousand mile warranty but the year of my car was out of warranty by 8 year gm told me take it to a dealer and they would pay to have it looked at their dealers said it needs a timing chain I had timing chain replaced once already on it at 51000 miles and now at 96,000 miles it went again I made appointment for following week to get it fixed they told me I could drive it but too baby it the day before I was supposed to get it fixed the engine locked up on me and was stranded with no cell service with my daughter not to mention it was snowing out after looking into it I found out these engines are known for burning oil like a couple quarts or 3 between oil changes these engines are in the Cadillac cts and a bunch others and are known for weak timing chain gm extended the warranty on those tires for 120000 miles 10 years but they refused to do that for the Camaro which has the same engine if they did not tell people to change oil at 15000 miles or 10000 miles this problem would never happen also there is no oil low oil light so when you go by what your car tells you to you will lose your timing chain this is gm's fault they have you go too far in between to change your oil and these engines burn oil bad and gm has known for years if you go on Camaro forums that's all you hear about with the 2010 Camaros and Cadillac cts and acadia rayburn oil bad after von holzen ashland wisconsin told me gm would not help they offered me $1,000 for a new car that is a slap in the face how disrespectful can you be it seems like gm only wanted to get me in the doors of their dealerships so I would buy a new car because they knew my car was already out of warranty so I offer to hv it looked at if you're not going to help.

2 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2011 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 01/01/2013

Having issues with car maintaining oil levels. 1st instance did oil consumption then found it was leaking from engine seal, replaced that then another oil consumption @ 1000 miles later to find out it was leaking from some sort of plug, replaced that, another oil consumption test @ 2000 miles to only find out it was low on oil again, gm told the dealer to do a top engine cleaner on it. Then gm replaced the whole engine cover assembly and seals and informed me that you couldn't use dextose full synthetic because the seals and rings wouldn't sit right and that oil was made for corvettes and Cadillac , three days later check engine light came on. Went back to the dealer they just cleared the code and told me to drive it. Not even 1/2 way home noticed the car wouldn't accelerate, called dealer and took it back, finding out the catalyic converter was bad needed to be replaced, replaced that. It's only been 2000 and now the oil level is on the end of the dipstick. When speaking to the service manager he said not to go by the oil % life on the car as it wasn't accurate. To change at 5000 miles. But being at the end of the dipstick the math isn't adding up. Car at the dealer now and got a call everything is in spec per gm and it's burning 1 qt per 2000 miles, nothings wrong. Clearly you can see oil residue on the alternator and brand new engine cover they just put on.

3 Engine Burning Oil problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Camaro

Failure Date: 12/19/2005

Camaro bought November 2002, brakes and tires replaced six months later. Engine had sounded like a diesel within that same six months time. Within three years rear end producing an ever increasing howl. Had contacted dealer two times within first year about high oil consumption. Was told it was normal for a quart to be lost within 3000 miles. I have to drive this car to work and I really don't know when one of my rear axles is going to fall off. I cannot afford a new rear end and my warranty expired by mileage. I don't know if this is going to do much good but it feel good to be able to write about what a 33,000 black Camaro piece of crap can do to a man who has always been loyal as possible to chevy and had a dream to own such a car only to find out he would have been better off with a Hyundai. I will tell you one thing and maybe this will tell you what I really think of chevy and their cars. I wouldn't wish this purchase on my worst enemy. Biggest mistake of my life was believing in chevy.
