Engine Failure Problems of Chevrolet Camaro

The 2010 Camaro with the 3. 6l llt model engine has premature timing chain issues. These chains are stretching out and causing performance issues and causing engine failure. My vehicle gave me a decreased engine power warning while I was driving on the highway and decreased my speed dramatically. I had to floor the gas peddle to keep it above 40 mph in a 65 mph speed limit. It was a very dangerous situation. I had the engine light diagnosed and was told it was a worn timing chain and that 2 camshafts were now out of alignment. Gm has recalled almost all other vehicles with the same engine and timing chain for this issue. They have also discontinued use off the chain itself and sell a different model for replacement. But they refuse to recall the 2010 Camaro for this issue so the only option is to replace their defective product with the newer one out of pocket.

I have almost had an accident twice based on the transmission not shifting properly and the car loosing traction between 1st and 2nd gear. Chevy has flushed the transmission 3 times with no change. 3 weeks ago the engine failed while I was trying to accelerate on a highway. This caused a truck to almost ram the back of my car and another car almost hit me as I tried to get to the side of the highway. I was able to drive it to the dealer. Auto nation Chevrolet on lee vista blvd, orl. Florida. They determined that it was a catastrophic engine failure. The engine has been taken apart into many pieces and much of it is sitting on the dealership shop floor. The mechanic said the engine failure was due to a defective valve casing and a defective spring. . Damaging the camshaft. All valves and springs and camshaft would need to be replaced. Chevy has declined my request for a new engine. . They said that decision is up to the dealership service manager. I spoke to him. . . He said that the cost to replace the engine must be within a few hundred dollars vs rebuilding the engine for him to authorize that the engine be replaced. . This is now 3 weeks in duration with no car, which cost me close to $50,000 and almost has caused me to be in 3 accidents. I am appealing for your intervention.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Camaro. While driving approximately 80 mph, the engine suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to gillman Chevrolet (1801 industrial way, san benito, TX) where it was diagnosed that the lifters inside the engine failed and the engine needed to be replaced. The engine was replaced and the failure was remedied. Also, while the vehicle was in reverse, the backup camera would not display an image. The manufacturer was notified of the failures. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 1,000.

Engine crankshaft began coming apart without warning, purchased 2016 ss, drove it 6mo and 7,000mi, no warning lights or signs, just excessive vibration while coasting on the freeway. Engine is currently being "replaced", consumers are not being notified of major lt1 engine failures. . . . No word from gm financial about the car's status after 30 days. . . . . Now by CA law a lemon. . . . . .

I was driving on I-95 at at approximately 70 mph. I slowed to get off the exit and as I did the engine died and the power steering and brakes were inoperative. Luckily I didn't hit anyone. The engine failed again later in the same evening and twice 2 days later on I-95 at 70 mph.
