My car stalls and turns off, while driving, it happened twice in 2017 and four times within the last 2 weeks, I've taken it to the dealer 2 times already and they can't find the problem, it has turned off on me on the freeway and I get scared because my child sits in the back. The dealer can not do anything for me I don't know what else to do, I feel unsafe driving my vehicle. I do have documentation that I have taken it to the dealer and nothing can be found.
A faulty engine block heater caused the engine compartment to catch fire while the truck was parked, turned off and the factory installed engine block heater was plugged in.

During ownership of my 2016 Chevrolet Colorado v6 gasoline engine vehicle it has had numerous sputtering situations when accelerating. There is no rhyme or reason as to why the truck sputters to almost stalling. Dealership claims that the fuel injectors are probably dirty / fouled. Had injector maintenance performed and truck has no better engine performance and sputtering continues. This is dangerous on highway when accelerating in traffic. This has been occurring since original purchase date in October 2015.

Turn turns off - truck idles low and feels like it is going to stall when in traffic on the freeway and at a red lights. - I was sitting at a red light and when it turned green and I pushed the gas peddle it did not move. It had turned off. I put it in park and was able to restart it but at least 2 times a day I have to put it in park and push the gas while waiting at a red light so it doesn't turn off.

Vehicle stalls. When navigating a corner transmission looses its gear and acts like it doesn't know what to do and bangs and stalls. Also trans acts confused stop and go situations(city) and bangs when it remembers. Also does this when coasting on highway and accelerating again. It may jump down several gears and take off. Vehicle also has stalled several times at red lights and has a rough idle most of the time like it wants to stall. Been in shop numerous times for same thing and advised chevy but they cant figure it out and it is still doing it. Also looked online for possible answers and there are a lot of these same problems reported with no answers.
When I slow down or come to a stop at a red light . The truck starts stalling and doesnt want to go unless I stomp on the gas . I have taken it twice to a Chevrolet dealer near where I live. First time they said they had to do something to the computer . Second time they said nothing was wrong and I didnt even get any paperwork to show I had taken it to them . It is still doing it . Purchased 2015 Colorado in August. While driving it I have noticed there is a problem with the transmission and engine synchronization between down shifting and maintaining proper rpm's. When driving a steady speed in traffic and you need to speed up a little the transmission does not down shift. When you give it gas to speed up the engine the rpms are to low and the engine bucks and is lugging very badly. You are at a point it feels like it will stall. This lugging has to be bad for engine. If you press down harder on the accelerator the transmission will down shift suddenly and the truck will surge forward quickly. I have almost run into the rear of vehicles while in traffic and trying to maintain flow speed.

After my vehicle gained 67xxx it began to have issues with the anti theft system. When I turn my vehicle off, and turn it back on the anti theft light blinks. This has stalled my vehicle. When I attempt to turn it on the engine will crank and the lights flicker on and off. After doing some research I have found that numerous people have also encountered this issue. The only fix know at the moment is to wait 10 minutes and then the engine will start. This can become a nuisance and a danger. I had recently encountered a nail in my tire. I had to pull over on the highway to check what was happening. When I shut my engine off I was stuck on the highway due to my anti theft light blinking and my engine not starting due to this anti theft issue. I have addressed this with gm and also the local dealer with no success for assistance. It was suggested that I do a diagnostics test, but that would run me upward of 400+ to figure out what is going on. I find this to be a manufacture issue. Numerous people have addressed this issue online.
2006 chevy Colorado 4 cyl. 2. 3l camshaft position acuator went bad at 68,000 miles causing rough idle, some stalling, and loss of power. Originally changed camshaft solenoid due to missing screen. Problem came back immediately, dealer tore apart engine and said the actual camshaft actuator needed replaced. Cost $1200. Truck was bought brand new, and serviced on schedule. Have been told this is a common problem for the Colorados, and must be because there is even a technical service bulletin about it. Gm refuses to pay for it unless still under bumper to bumper warranty, which for my year expires at 36,000 miles or 3 years. At 67,000 miles, parts in the engine should not be tearing up. It is poor quality and dangerous to be driving.
Colorado, 5-cylinder engine problems, stalling and rough idling. Stalls and runs poorly. Why has dealer not issued recall for all of these for cylinder head work? dealer wants me to pay for it.

Vehicle will crank and not start, check engine does not come on. Wait 10 minutes and truck will start. Happens up to once a week, random. Took it to the dealership , replaced element, installed fuel system power pack, injection system clean and replaced air filter. That was in 2010, truck was under warranty but did not cover this work, did not fix the problem. Truck is no longer under warranty and still having the same problem. Never know when it will happen.

While driving the vech. Once it goes under 10mph it will stall out. I then have to put it in n and restart. This has been going on for a while. Ever since it about 40-45,000 miles. . . I have not been able to afford to pay to have it fixed. I was told by a chevy dealer service manager that it has a faulty coil system and chevy does know about it but when they choose to issue a recall notice is there choice.
: the contact stated while traveling at various speeds the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was taken to the dealer however the problem could not be duplicated. Updated 05/10/06.
